The heritage village of Glenville is situated in north County Cork, and makes a great base for touring the area. Nearby, the river Bride is well-known for its great salmon and brown trout fishing, while golfers will love the courses at Mallow, Fermoy and Douglas. Blarney Castle is just 12 miles from Glenville, and with its beautiful garden and famous Blarney Stone of Eloquence, makes a great day out for the whole family, while a visit to Lismore Castle and the FOTA Wildlife Park are a must. The local pub in the village has live music at least 2 nights a week while the vibrant city of Cork is only half an hours drive away and offers fantastic shopping, fine restaurants and interesting cafes and bistros. A perfect base for exploring this part of Ireland.

On the site of the former gate lodge to Glenville Manor House, this delightful dormer cottage enjoys an elevated position at the entrance to Glenville, County Cork. Built in an attractive, traditional style, elements of this Glenville cottage echo the period of the former gate lodge it now replaces, and these are evident throughout this Glenville cottage. In the kitchen there are exposed ceiling beams, slate flooring, a Belfast sink and a farmhouse-style kitchen as well as a warming solid-fuel stove, while the sitting room has an open fire in an antique fireplace and airy double height ceilings. The sun room in this Glenville cottage overlooks the garden, and is a great place to relax on a sunny afternoon. The area surrounding this Glenville cottage has lots keep the whole family busy, including squash and hand ball in the village itself, a children’s playground, golf courses at Mallow and Fermoy, Blarney Castle, home to the famous Blarney Stone of Eloquence, and Cork City, easily accessible by bus, and a great day out! This is a great Glenville cottage all year round.
