  • "This was a splendid property, however to improve the stay we would recommend more accurate instructions to find the property, and an idiot's guide on how to operate appliances, TV and cooker were particularly challenging, picky yes, but aged over 70 we need all the help we can get."

This was a fabulous holiday helped by a great holiday home.

  • "This was our third holiday at The Avairy and once again could not fault it."

The unit has all you need for a comfortable stay. It is in an ideal position for easy access to a lot of beaches and lovely drives and also being close to a good shopping centre. As our son lives close by we shall be booking again.

  • "There were a number of issues, as well as a number of recommendations."

Issues: - Really bad smell permeating the whole lodge. Seemed to be originating from the bathrooms - Frebreeze, air freshener and scented candles couldn't shift it all week. - Storage heater the front double bedroom didn't work. - We had to clean all of the plates, glasses, cutlery, saucepans and the grill, as they were dirty. - Remnants of a McDonalds was down the side of the sofa/under the table. - The cooker had been switched off - had to reset the clock to get it to work. Recommendations: - Lamps in the lounge - the lights are too fierce to relax. - Need bins in the bedrooms - Need a colander and a tablespoon in the kitchen. - The visitors comments book contains some local information, but we didn't find it until the last day. Recommend a client information pack including emergency numbers for doctors, dentists and the owners. Details of local shops, pubs and takeaways would also be useful.

  • "On arrival we found over 20 wasps which had been sprayed and were either dead, docile or quite lively!"

! There was an awful smell emanating from en suite as the drain on shower had not been replaced by cleaner correctly. The owner of lodge was very amenable and fixed the drain and sprayed where the wasps were getting in. The smell from drain took a few days to fade and we kept finding the odd wasp up to the end of our stay. The lodge itself is ok but we found it to be very hot after the sun had been on it all day! There are not enough mugs, glasses or plates either to fill the dishwasher. The living area needs a lamp, the mattresses on beds are extremely uncomfortable and the en-suite and main bathroom need a mat to stand on after having a shower. The lodge is well situated for visiting most places in Cornwall as it is not far from the main road that runs down the length of the Cornish peninsular. The area surrounding the lodges is very quiet and fairly well maintained.

  • "Great location to explore Cornwall."

Couldn’t fault the accommodation perfect for all our needs, only small thing needed was a bedside light.

  • "Air conditioning would of helped."

Very stuffy and hot at night.

  • "We were more than happy with the accommodation but one suggestion I would like to make would be to perhaps have small bedside cabinets and a lamp at the side of the double beds as you had to get out of bed to find the light switch in the dark."

I hope this suggestion is taken in the spirit it is given as we were genuinely very happy with the accommodation and would certainly stay here again.

It was very central for all of the parts of Cornwall that we wanted to visit. It was nice to meet the owner briefly and we wish him well and thank him for creating a beautiful space to escape to.

  • "Lovely lodge but directions to it could be clearer."

Directions needed from A30. It was unclear of where exactly it was at Brighton Cross. Also we thought that recycle bins could be provided to maybe cater for individual or for all 3 lodges. It felt wrong putting glass, plastic etc into general rubbish! A great Lodge with good facilities, thank you.

  • "This Lodge was perfectly situated for access to many different beaches and towns."

Supermarkets, pubs and restaurants were all within easy reach. Everything in the Lodge was brand new and absolutely spotless which gave us great confidence as we were unsure about a ‘staycation’ due to Corona virus. The wifi was excellent and you purchase fresh hen and duck eggs on site using an honesty box. I would highly recommend this Lodge to anyone thinking of taking a holiday in Cornwall. We enjoyed everything about it!
