  • "Wow the views are stunning from 2 Channel view, we have been staying in Salcombe on holiday for over 20 years and we couldn't believe the views."

    The bedrooms are a good size with comfortable beds again with great views. The house was very clean and comfortable with huge windows in the lounge onto the terrace overlooking the estuary and the house has it's own parking which is a real plus in Salcombe and you are in the town walking within a few minutes. We would highly recommend staying at 2 Channel view and already looking to stay next year.

  • "Channel View is a lovely property made by its location and view."

    Very well equipped, we had a lovely stay. The adjacent building work was not a distraction to us at all. The steps to the property are steep though, so some people might struggle with this. Also the car parking area is fine for 2 cars but takes a little getting used to and 2 large vehicles might have difficulty. The owners were very helpful throughout.

  • "Excellent location for North Sands and the town centre."

    We had a lovely time despite not the best of weathers. I enjoyed introducing grandsons to the MasterMind game that was available to use (had one as a child!), it made a lovely change to online games! Shame only one double bed, but not a big issue. We were warned about works next door but there was no impact / noise - in fact the boys enjoyed seeing the big crane.

    Spacious and thoughtfully designed with the best views of the estuary. Everything we needed had been provided plus things we didn’t know we wanted…like jig saws! We will definitely return and please thank the owners.

  • "We absolutely love staying at 2 Channel View."

    We have just re booked again to go next year and can’t wait this will be our third visit. The house has amazing views brilliant location to the shops and to the beach. Extremely clean and comfortable. Owners very nice to speak to if need to get in touch and very helpful. We can not wait for our next visit.

  • "Beautiful view and very comfortable home so I have given it 5 stars but could easily have rated it 1 star."

    This was because we were significantly impacted by the building work happening next door. Coast and Country noted it on the listing but it was right at the end of the information about the property so very easily missed. We were woken at 8am every morning with heavy drilling noise which was not pleasant and impacted on our enjoyment of our holiday. Nothing the owner could have done as all perfectly legal I just wish it was made more obvious on the website as we had lots of booking options and would have picked somewhere else had we realised at the time of the booking.

The property

Situated just a five-minute walk away from Salcombe’s famous waterside, beaches, restaurants and boutique shops, 2 Channel View is a three-storey holiday home that benefits from stunning panoramic views over the estuary and out to sea from each of the bedrooms, the lounge and the terrace. The property is accessed up a steep flight of stone steps (42) from the shared driveway to the front door.

Once inside, from the entrance lobby is the main open plan living accommodation and a small cloakroom with w.c and wash hand basin.

The comfortable lounge has two double sofas, occasional furniture and a Smart TV.

The dining area towards the rear has a large table seating six.

Towards the front of the lounge is a light and airy sunroom with conservatory style furniture, with large double doors that open out on to the spacious terrace with stunning estuary views.

Leading from the lounge is a newly fitted kitchen.

Three bedrooms in total.

On the first floor is a master bedroom with King-size bed, bedside units and wardrobe.

A twin room has two single beds, bedside units, drawers and wardrobe.

This room benefits from an en suite with shower cubicle, wash hand basin and w.c.

Also, on this floor is the family bathroom with bath, shower (over), wash hand basin and w.c.

The final twin bedroom is on the second floor with TV and DVD player.

In addition, two parking spaces are available on the driveway.

About the location

SALCOMBE

Kingsbridge 7 miles; Dartmouth 21 miles; Plymouth 24 miles; Paignton 26 miles.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
