10 Customer Reviews

  • "It was a great set up for a family with two young children and very comfortable and spacious."

We were appreciative of the games stored at apartment, the single bed in the room with the double came in helpful plus the bath and open living / dining space which could be closed off once the children asleep in the bedroom. We were delighted that it was all on one floor and so easy for us. It felt very safe and well stocked in kitchen/bathroom. It was relatively quiet so we used the external parking space which can be a bit of a tight squeeze but very handy. It’s a very good base to explore the area with decent comfort levels and great location. Good comms with owner.

Thank-you for your lovely comments and feedback, It's very appreciated Property Owner

  • "This is an excellent base for your holiday in Swanage."

It is well located close to the sea and 10 minutes walk along the prom to the vibrant town centre. The apartment was very well equipped and clean. As walkers, we were able to enjoy excellent walks to Corfe, Studland, Durlston Country Park and Dancing Ledge, directly from the apartment and only drove locally twice to expand our range. The only slight issue is that the apartment icsn get warm at night and you may need the fans which are provided, to keep cool. The welcome gifts were also much appreciated! Thanks for a great week!

Thank you for your feedback. It may be that we need to adjust the temperature controls on the individual wall thermostats, actually turn them off. the trouble is that the climate keeps swinging between highs and lows so difficult to predict. We will also make the summer duvets available to guests as well. Thank you for sharing. Property Owner

  • "This is an amazing apartment conveniently located for the town, walks along the coast and buses to town and Poole."

The apartment was really comfortable and very well equipped and given that we were staying for Christmas we had everything to cater for Christmas lunch. The owners were incredibly helpful when we wanted to extend our stay and very caring to make sure that everything was fine with the apartment. I would highly recommend this apartment.

What a wonderful review to start the new year! Thank-you so much for your generous feedback. We are so happy that you enjoyed the flat and all that swanage and local area has to offer. Hopefully we will see you again. The Cook family . Property Owner

  • "The accommodation was excellent with great attention to our comfort, we really appreciated these efforts."

Equipment and facilities were absolutely superb with plenty of dishes, glasses, pans and utensils. There were some maintenance issues which I'd be happy to take up with the owner but overall a top level flat which we'd happily recommend to other visitors.

Many thanks for your very positive overview of your stay in our flat. However we are concerned that there were some maintenance issues that you experienced and would wish to explore this with you, as we do have access to local service engineers and maintenance staff who could have responded during your stay. Fortunately it would appear from your feedback it did not impact too greatly on your overall comfort... With your permission we will make contact with you via the Sykes visitor contacts details.. • "The instructions for collecting and returning the keys were very good, and we had no problem locating them."

Parking facilities were good. The property was spotlessly clean with excellent facilities. It was warm and welcoming, especially as we were stuck inside for nearly two days due to Storm Ciaran. The beds were clean and comfortable, with plenty of towels supplied. We were spoiled for choice with bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen was well stocked with crockery, cutlery etc and the microwave and oven were very clean. There are lovely views all round from the verandas. We would come back again, probably at a different time in the season, as most restaurants were closing down. We were looking to book a table for my 60th birthday (Chinese or Indian) on 31st October, but nothing was available locally or within walking distance. Be prepared for a drive, which my partner and I didn’t want to do as we both wanted a drink to celebrate. Nevertheless, we had everything we needed for a restful break. Thank you.

Thanks you so much for the lovely feedback. I am so glad that you made the most of your stay even though the storm might have ruined it. It's such a shame that you weren't able to see what swanage and nearby has to offer. With regards to places to eat... The storm would have affected closures of local businesses, but Just round the corner is the Grand hotel who do good bistro menu, also Swanage taxis just opposite flat. The Bankes Arms Studland good. The pubs all do good food all year round. I will add these details to our welcome pack for future guests. Thanks again for the glowing review and we as a family hope you visit us again. kind regards The Cook family Property Owner

We particularly appreciated its position with just a five minute walk down to the beach and within easy reach of the shops. Swanage is a great place to visit: safe sandy beach; coastal walks and plenty of places to visit. We had a great week. Thank you.

  • "This is a fantastic property."

Large spacious rooms. 2 lovely balconies, one for each bedroom; plus a large roof terrace with stunning views of the Purbeck hills. Everything was equipped and decorated to a high standard. Fantastic value for money too.

  • "A beautiful luxury apartment well furnished and equipped."

The balconies are a lovely extra although we did not use them much but that was due to the weather. Our only concern was that although the weather was never hot, the flat was always rather warm and uncomfortably warm during the night and we wonder if the MVHR system needs to be adjusted to correct this. We opened windows and patio doors when in the flat during the day, but were not happy with having patio doors open all night.

Thank you for your comments which are important to us. We are glad that you rated the flat highly but appreciate that you found it rather warm at night. It is a shame that the weather was so bad during your stay so that you could not take advantage of the balconies to the bedrooms and or the upper balcony on the top floor. We would advise that the French door can be left open as much as possible to dissipate any heat build up. The MVHR system is set to summer but in the light of your comments we will organise a visit from an engineer to further check the system is operating correctly. In the meantime all the room thermostats can be turned off. Property Owner

  • "The penthouse was absolutely gorgeous with balcony views in both bedrooms and a roof top terrace, beds were extremely comfortable and everything was clean to a high standard."

All amenities were provided and as a base into Swanage it was ideal for walking into town. Would highly recommend staying here The only downside was the Syke Cottages Agency, giving inaccurate information, not calling back when they said they would and not seemingly bothered to keep customers, hence the 9 instead of 10.

We are saddened by your negative experience with Sykes at the time of your booking, initially there was confusion over both the description and the location of the key collection. We bought this to the attention of Sykes and voiced your justified complaint. The situation was rectified in time for your visit., and we are delighted that you then were able to enjoy your holiday. Many thanks for your lovely comments about the apartment, we really appreciate them The Cook family Property Owner

There's a lift to the apartment which is great for suitcases. The views are incredible with so many windows and three balconies. The kitchen is well equipped and the seating is comfy and so are the beds. We enjoyed a walk to Old Harry Rocks via the footpath and treated ourselves to a stream train to Corfe Castle. Always wonderful to walk along the sea front. Such a lovely place to be.

Love your feedback Pam, We as a family are so happy your stay was so special and glad you were such a happy 1st guest ! Hope you stay again Bonny (Cook family) Property Owner

About the location

SWANAGE

Wareham 9.7 miles; Poole 20 miles.

The small, family-friendly seaside resort of Swanage is situated at the eastern end of Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, on the celebrated Isle of Purbeck and is probably best known for its wonderful, gently shelving golden sands. The little town offers visitors plenty of shops, good pubs and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood, and is also well known for its annual jazz festival, which takes place each July. The attractive, Victorian wooden pier offers a great place for a stroll or try fishing, and often used a departure point for divers, it’s a wonderful place to watch the world pass by. The historic Swanage Railway has its terminus in the town and regular nostalgic steam engine trips take tourists for a picturesque 6-mile journey, chugging through lovely countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle. Nearby Durlston Country Park offers a lovely day out with spectacular coastal walks, dolphin spotting and wildlife watching, together with comfortable viewing points and a well-stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air. Take the short drive to Studland, which has one of the finest beaches in the country, surrounded by heathland, together with the regular chain ferry, which crosses the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks. This truly is a delightful holiday destination at any time of the year.
