Swanage Cottages
Book a Swanage holiday cottage and picture striped deckchairs,
floppy hats and ice-creams - traditional trappings of the Great
British seaside experience. This is a place to bring the kids, the
buckets and spades and have lots of fun. Plus there's idyllic
coast and countryside right on your doorstep.
Swanage is a small resort on the peninsula of Purbeck, famous
for its award-winning sands and excellent off-shore diving.
You'll find a pier, lots of other water sports, boat trips,
amusement arcades and ample places to eat and drink. Also some
unique features, with a number of old London landmarks dotted about
including columns from Billingsgate Fish Market - pick up a town
trail leaflet from the Museum & Heritage Centre in The
Square.
Attractions near our cottages in Swanage
A mile from town is Durlston Country Park, a big National Nature
Reserve offering wonderful walks, birdlife and dolphins. Stride out
along the Purbeck Way or across Ballard Down to Ballard Point, a
series of chalk hills protected by the National Trust promising
amazing sea views. Also off the coast are Old Harry's Rocks, an
extraordinary set of chalk pillars jutting out of the sea - they
form part of Dorset's Jurassic Coast and you can discover more
by means of the South West Coast Path. For something less
energetic, relax aboard the steam-hauled carriages of Swanage
Railway, operating most weekends and daily in
season.
What else? Trace 1,000 years of history at Corfe Castle or
fast-forward to the modern day in the cosmopolitan town of Poole,
both just a short drive from your Swanage holiday rental.
