  • "Fantastic cottage."

Well equipped kitchen but major things let it down and impacted our stay. 1. The lighting in the bathroom very poor the lights over the mirror didn’t work and struggled to get contact lenses in. 2. Second bedroom needs a mirror, had to share main room for doing hair. 3. The logs left for the fire were damp and did not work well, and I had purchased the kindle. 4. The internet was dreadful, unable to stream anything and the tv signal was rubbish. We had taken games and books but also wanted to chill infront of the fire on cold rainy evenings together to watch a box set after being in the rain and outside during the day. For this reason we wouldn’t stay here again. Such a shame as everything else was great, but we wanted some down time and we couldn’t get it to work at all.

We are glad you liked the cottage and appreciate the feedback. We have listened and replaced the bulbs in the bathroom and added a mirror to the other bedroom. The internet is being upgraded to Fibre this week to improve streaming. Thank you for staying at TurTwig Cottage. Property Owner

  • "It's the second time we have been to this cottage."

We really enjoyed our time here. They only problems we had was with the television keep jumping making it difficult to watch, and the towels were a bit small. The microwave is to high on the wall. I am not very tall and for me it was quite difficult to get hot food out without spilling. These are only small things which would not stop us coming back again for another holiday.

Thank you for returning to TurTwig Cottage and we are glad you enjoyed it stay. We are looking into your feedback to see how we can improve. We look forward to welcoming you back to TurTwig Cottage. Property Owner

  • "The cottage is lovely and clean and had everything you need!"

We enjoyed the hockey table and there was even books, dvds, boardgames to keep you entertained. The only criticism I have is the tv could do with a upgrade, it could do with being higher and larger as it wasn't easy for everyone to see the TV from where they were sitting. All in all amazing place and so cosy.

Thanks for the feedback and I am glad you enjoyed your stay. We have taken your comments and have now upgraded the TV and it also sits in a better position. Property Owner

  • "Very nice property in a good central location for walking and visiting places in north Wales."

The TV needs a upgrade in size and a wall bracket to lift it to eye level, rather uncomfortable looking down to watch TV. We had a lovely holiday and were extremely fortunate with the weather.

Exactly like the photos, cozy, clean and homely throughout. Lovely little house to come home to after wet February walks ! Good base to see North Wales. Quiet little village 2 stores, takeaways and pubs close by..Parking wasn't an issue in the little dead end street. Well equipt kitchen, washer/dryer and lots of little extras for our dog .....throws and bowls etc. Perfect home, perfect stay.

  • "Beautiful place and we will definitely come again!"

We were so impressed how nicely renovated the cottage was and fitted out with virtually everything one needed, as well as being spotlessly clean. It was beautifully decorated and the beds were super comfy; we felt right at home and had plenty of space for my husband and I and our teenage son. We were very happy to have had a washing machine and dishwasher and the wide array of kitchen utensils that included a french press, electric kettle, toaster and microwave. The property is situated in a nice quiet area - street parking was easy to find. Grocery stores were very close by and the location is ideal for taking the blaenau ffestiniog railway train and very near hiking trails and other quaint towns. Just a few things - would be great to have had a clothes drying rack and maybe a few extra towels.

  • "Great stay at this lovely cottage!"

Had everything we needed. The entire downstairs area was lovely. Air hockey table is something a bit different and definitely fun! Kitchen was well equipped. Bathrooms were lovely, ours was the downstairs one and the shower was fab! Bedrooms were also good with plenty of storage. Enclosed areas out the front and back were great for the dog and also the children. Such a lovely part of the country to stay, the views and scenery were incredible! Also have to mention how amazing the owners were, we had car trouble and were about to be stranded on our last day as we couldn't physically leave but we were able to book a couple extra nights (which was so easy to do) while we figured out the car. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Thank you for your review, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Turtwig Cottage. We are happy that you got your car sorted and had a safe trip home. Property Owner

It is spacious, very well equipped and well managed. We found the local people, dogs and especially the cat that greeted us on our return each day and watched us through the window most welcoming. The Wi-Fi is very fast and reliable. Although Blaenau Ffestiniog is a fairly run-down town there are lots of things to do locally including some very good walking. It is an excellent base for exploring the wider area, We enjoyed a guided tour of the slate mine and a trip on the Blaenau Ffestiniog Railway. The are many places of historical interest including a number of castles. We particularly enjoyed two visits to Caernarfon and a day at Portmeirion We highly recommend TurTwig cottage

  • "The house had everything we needed, and more !"

! The living room was comfortable and cosy which is just what you need after climbing a mountain !! The bed was also very comfortable and the bedrooms had plenty of storage. Both bathrooms had great showers. The courtyard is small at the rear but there are benches and tables in the front garden which is a little sun trap. I thought the little extras provided were a sweet touch, a pack of Welsh cakes (my fave) tea, coffee and sugar provided and also a little cleaning pack containing dishwasher tabs, clean cloths , throws for the sofas so dogs could be on there etc. This was very thoughtful. All in all our stay was perfect and turtwig cottage is a great base camp to explore North Wales, we visited Conway Bay, Rhyl, Bangor, Anglesey, Llandudno , Betws-y-coed, and of course Mount Snowdon. Will definitely be visiting again soon :)

Comfy and clean it made an ideal base to explore the area. A comfortable bed and excellent shower were well received after a day's walking. Spotlessly clean and everything that you could possibly want was there. Very quiet town location within five minutes of a good chip shop, supermarket and station. The mainline train ride to Llandudno was really lovely with beautiful views, especially across the estuary to Conway castle. At present, you are unable to get the narrow gauge train from Blaenau and have to go from Porthmadog, but it is more than worth it and the optional cream tea box is excellent. 10/10

For those rainy days, there were games provided, as well as the very popular air hockey table! Simple instructions were left for everything required, which meant we didn't need to bother the owners, but when we did, they were quick to respond.
