Not enough lighting in the living room although very cosy Towel rail in the bathroom doesn’t work No wardrobes to hang clothes ( a rail would have been suffice ) Owner very personable and helpful We enjoyed our stay very much

  • "Fantastic base for visiting the area, with so much to do."

Lodge was very clean and well-stocked with electric radiators, cooking equipment etc. Cosy lounge. We didn't use the woodburner but a lovely thing to have. The lodge was ideal for 2 of us. But not sure why there are beds for 6 people but have 4 on listing. The lodge is too small for 4 adults, but family of 2 adults & 2 children would be fine. Hanging space would be useful. Tiny bathroom, may not be suitable for people with limited mobility. Oven hob rings need attention, can't read the dials and also not working properly so set off trip switch. Host said they need to replace it. That said, we really enjoyed our weekend. Thank you.

The location is beautiful and very tranquil in a forest setting. We particularly enjoyed watching the wildlife and the owners chickens. Michelle and Jonathan are extremely pleasant and unobtrusive. We certainly intend a return stay !

  • "What a stunning location!"

Right on Nant Y Ffrith, with woodland walks & waterfall, ideally located for access for days out to Chester, Liverpool & Surrounding North Wales. It snowed during our stay (Feb 2024) & it was lovely & toasty sitting in the lodge, with the log burner on, The property is set in lovely wooded grounds & the lounge window faces trees with bird feeders, I saw some beautiful birds, you don’t see every day & some of the healthiest squirrels I’ve ever seen, who are very entertaining. If you need some time out from the stress of the rat race & to connect back to the natural world, this is the place to go. Michelle & her family were very accommodating, friendly, informative & supportive. The property was clean & has everything you need. The Kings Head Pub is within walking distance, friendly owners & staff, ideal for a Guinness & something to eat after a lovely local walk around Nant y Ffrith. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

You were so hospitable and welcoming. You'd thought of everything, there wasn't a thing we didn't have at the cottage. Your grounds are stunning and it was the perfect base for our weeks stay. A real gem!

Thank you so much. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. I hope the journey back home wasn’t to difficult. Kind regards Property Owner

  • "Lovely warm welcome and attentive owners."

Inside the cottage, we had all we needed but the outside has challenges if you have big car. The entrance gates are heavy to open and close but I am 70 so others may not have a problem. I have a medium sized estate car and I found driving in and out of the grounds quite tricky because the owner has two cars in the fairly small space.

I am sorry you found the parking difficult. We do have a 2nd carpark that we can make available. Property Owner

Michelle and Jonathan made us very welcome and couldn't be more helpful. It is a perfect location and only a short drive to Snowdonia and close by to other places of interest like Chester and Llangollen. Thank you very much for a nice, relaxing holiday. All the very best, Gary.

  • "Very disappointed with this accommodation."

We were booked for 3 nights we stayed for one hour. Very untidy outside, very tired inside. The second bedroom was so small there was no where to put your clothes etc box room! There were only 3 seats in the lounge area, not suitable for 4 people. This should not be advertised for four adults. The whole experience was extremley stressful.

I’m sorry you felt that you couldn’t share this feedback at the time. You did in fact tell us that ” everything was lovely but the reason you were having to find alternative accommodation was because there wasn’t enough separate adult beds for yourself, your son and your parents” . As shown in the advertisement we have a king size bed, 1 single bed, 1 queen size bed and a child’s bunk bed Kind regards Michelle Property Owner

  • "This is a lovely country holiday cottage in the grounds of the owners."

The property is cosy but the grounds and facilities are great for kids holidays. The proprietors are very welcoming and helpful, and when problems were identified, they were sorted quickly and efficiently. There is plenty to do in the close by area, including some lovely walks directly from the property. We had a lovely week, especially as the sun was shining too!

About the location

BRYMBO

Brynteg 1.5 miles; Gwynfryn 3.2 miles; Wrexham 4.8 miles.

Brymbo is a large village in Wrexham, Wales. It is situated just under five miles away from the bustling town centre of Wrexham, offering a variety of distinctive shops and a selection of fine pubs and restaurants. Historically, the village dates back to the Bronze Age, with evidence having been discovered regarding a burial site in 1958. The site was found alongside a flint knife and an earthenware beaker and the remains of a man they named 'Brymbo Man'. While historical buildings are in short supply in this village, there are a few which are of industrial archaeological interest. This attractive town makes an inspiring choice from which to further explore the surrounding regions of Cheshire and Wales.
