Situated just 4 miles east of Alnwick, Alnmouth is a charming resort popular with golfers and those seeking a peaceful holiday. The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore.

Alnmouth 2 miles. A stone-built, mid-terraced farm cottage situated in a peaceful rural location on a working farm, about 2 miles from the village of Alnmouth and close to some of Northumberland’s superb beaches. It is surrounded by picturesque countryside — the best of both worlds . . . coast and country! The owners personally welcome visitors and live in the nearby farmhouse. Recently modernised, the cottage offers comfortable, well equipped holiday accommodation. French doors open on to a large shared lawned area where children can play. An ideal base for a family holiday. Please note: Brian’s Cottage adjoins Dorothy’s Cottage Ref. 306 and Stephen’s Cottage Ref. 787 and together they can accommodate up to 18 people.
Three bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x bunks, 1 x twin. Bathroom with bath with shower over, basin and WC. Shower room with shower, basin and WC. Modern fitted kitchen with dining area. Spacious sitting room with log burning stove.
Oil central heating and additional heating from log burning stove in sitting room. Electric cooker, fridge, freezer, washer/dryer, colour TV, combi video/DVD player. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen inc. in rent. Cot and high chair on request. Off road parking for 2 cars. Shared garden with large lawn area. Sorry, no pets. Shop and pub 2 miles.

The cottage was very homely and had everything that we needed. The location was peaceful and relaxing but not too far from the beach at Alnmouth where we spent a lot of time with our two year old daughter. Alnwick was also close enough for the essential supermarket shopping.If you have young children I would highly recommend The Lion's Den play centre in Alnwick.
