  • "Lovely break in Amble staying at 18 Acklington Road."

House was so convenient for the harbour, for local shops, local buses if required and parking always available. Property was fresh, bright and very clean. Owner has thought of everything you may need and provided a welcome pack - even including some doggy treats. We would definitely stay here again.

  • "Gorgeous place, really clean and cosy."

Perfect location for Amble and surrounding areas. The only drawback was the Council ripping up the road and resurfacing which started on the Monday morning right through to the Thursday. I would have thought that the owners would have had notice of the road being closed. We were woken up by the noise at 8am and had to quickly move our cars. Subsequently had to move our cars each morning/evening. Couldn't stay in the house Mon/Tues/Wed even if we wanted to as the noise was unbearable. If I'd been advised I wouldn't have booked this house as lovely as it was it would have been nice to be informed.

Thank you for your feedback Melanie we appreciate it. I want to apologise for the inconvenience whilst you stayed with us, I'm sorry I was not aware of the road works happening but going forward I will make sure I'm aware of what is happening in the area. Thank you for staying with us. Property Owner

  • "This is such a lovely property."

Very stylish, welcoming and spotless. Modern interior and tastefully decorated. The outdoor space was perfect for our dog - well lit and secure. I think the bath /shower area would benefit from a rubber shower mat as it can be slippery in the bath especially after using shower gel, shampoo etc. and would be helpful for mature visitors and children alike. Also, some drinks coasters appeared to be missing? These were minor details in this beautiful house. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it’s a big thank you from us!

Thank you for your feedback. We will certainly add those things you have suggested. Thank you for staying with us. Property Owner

  • "This property was exactly what we were looking for, we could walk out day and night and find everything we wanted, including shops and restaurants."

There’s a park close by for dog walking. All in all an excellent staycation property. The owner Tanya even made time to ring us to make sure everything was okay on our arrival even though she had just given birth. Thank you.

About the location

AMBLE

Warkworth 1 mile; Alnmouth 4 miles.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
