  • "The cottage itself is very big, open plan lounge/dining room, nice and bright and airy."

The only fault I could find was the flooring in the lounge/diner definitely needs replacing, but I'm sure the owners are aware, it didn't make our stay less enjoyable. The bedrooms were lovely, great comfy beds and nice bed linen. The bathroom is nice, good shower, however there is no extractor fan and it causes lots of steam. The window does not close in the bathroom ( we couldn't close it) But all in all it's a beautiful cottage, we loved it, it's on a lovely street and was easy to park, and would definitely love to stay again in the future.

  • "Well situated cottage containing everything you’d require from a holiday let ."

Appreciated that we weren’t over burdened with lots of unnecessary house rules . The welcome pack of wine , biscuits and crisps was a nice touch . Would have no hesitation in recommending this property for a lovely family holiday .

  • "Fantastic house in a peaceful location."

Close to all local amenities with the high street virtually round the corner. Property had everything that we needed for our stay. Nice enclosed seating area to rear of property which was well used due to the lovely weather we had. Parking not directly outside although you can pull up to unload. Didn’t have any issues finding a parking spot near by.

  • "We were very impressed with the property in general."

Very well equipped, very comfortable, clean and quite spacious. The enclosed area at the back was very pleasant to sit in (on the couple of days we saw a little of the sun). A quiet location but only a couple of minutes walk into the town centre and not much further to the sea front and harbour village. Just one tiny suggestion - for those self catering, some sort of measuring jug would be useful in the kitchen. We recommend it and would definitely stay again if going up that way for a few days.

  • "A lovely light airy comfortable property in a quiet location."

The seafront and shops are easily accessible. It was totally dog friendly which was why we chose this property. Amble is a great base for visiting glorious Northumberland and buying fish from Alliance fisheries on the harbour was the best fish we have ever eaten!

Very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Great location, with a short walk to local shops, restaurants and the harbour. Plenty of beautiful beaches and castles to explore in the area.

  • "Very well equipped cottage, beautifully decorated and very comfortable."

The road outside and surrounding roads was very narrow & manoeuvring a little challenging. Some forewarning would be appreciated. We also could not find anywhere for take away fish and chips in Amble on Sunday evening. However, these are minor grumbles. We had a great stay & may well be back.

  • "We really enjoyed our time at Number 20 Amble."

The house is warm, comfortable, spacious and homely. There is everything needed for a lovely stay. The beds are comfortable and the house was spotless and clean. Parking is easy nearby. The house is only a short walk to nearby shops, pubs and restaurants. My only little criticism would be no power point next to the front bedroom mirror, maybe just an extension lead would help. A guest book in the house would be lovely too, as I enjoy reading who's visited. Thank you for a fabulous stay.

  • "We stayed at Number 20 at the beginning of November and had a brilliant time."

It is a lovely, spacious cottage; light, bright and tastefully furnished. The owner’s art work is a special touch. The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed. In the evenings the fire in the living room made it really cosy. The bed was comfortable with good quality linen and there were nice, fluffy towels in the bathroom. The cottage is in a great spot; so close to the high street and only minutes from the harbour. The cottage was also perfect for our dog with a good enclosed area at the back and lots of lovely walks round Amble and nearby. Number 20 is a real home from home and we would love to stay there again.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
