  • "David and Wendy were perfect hosts and very helpful."

We had everything we needed for a wonderful relaxing fun long weekend. The shepherd's hut was immaculate and extremely cozy. The hot tub and the outside cooking area was incredible especially after long walks and sightseeing. My husband and I have returned home well rested and very much look forward to returning again soon. Both our sons are looking to book as we had nothing but great feedback to give them. We would highly recommend this holiday/break to others. Nothing to fault at all. Breaks like this mean so much! Thank you very much David and Wendy. Warm regards Mr & Mrs Evans-Nicolle

Wow!!! Thank you it really does mean the world to us to receive feedback like this. We’re so pleased you had a great time and the weather didn’t spoil anything for you. We look forward to meeting your family one day should they decide to stay with us and would love to welcome you both back in the future. Property Owner

  • "We absolutely cannot fault our stay here, it was perfect from the start."

We visited for 4 days and 3 nights to celebrate our anniversary. The huts have everything you may need and are super clean, essentials such as milk, sugar and coffee are also provided. The pictures really don't do them justice, they are even better in person. The hot tub was much needed as we went on many walks around the area which is beautiful. It was very clean and temperature was perfect. There are lots of shops and restuarants close by too in case you need to pop out for anything. We visited Yorkshire Wildlife Park and Lincoln after recommendations from the hosts which were both around 30 mins drive away from the property and were both fabulous days out. The hosts were amazing, they helped with any questions we had and were chatty and friendly when we saw them around. We particularly enjoyed hearing and watching the sheep when it was feeding time! We had a very peaceful and relaxing time here which was much needed (even with the wind which was rather fierce on our last few days!) and we would recommend to anyone. It was the best celebration and we hope to come back in the future. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!

  • "There is a big difference between running a holiday property like this as a business and running one as a passion to give your guests the best few days possible."

Wendy and David are definitely in the latter category. They are open, friendly, and non-obtrusive. The accommodation was immaculate and we really enjoyed our 4-day stay in the peace and quiet of Grove. Counting passing satellites from a hot-tub is not something I do every day! We will be back soon.

Hi Graham thank you for the wonderful feedback it really does mean a lot to us. We loved meeting you both and can’t wait to welcome you back again one day. Property Owner

  • "Wow what an amazing find."

Real luxury and exquisite attention to detail. Everything had been thought about and catered for to ensure our stay was our best Glamping experience we have ever had (and we've had a few!). Dave and Wendy were amazing hosts and ensured we had all we needed. They clearly love hosting guests and that showed through in their genuine care for our best stay possible. From gazing at the stars in the hottub to hearing the hourly chime of the village church bells and sampling food hampers from Paula at the local farm shop our break couldn't have been any better. 100% recommend staying here.

The outside covered area meant that even if it was raining you could still cook and sit outside. Highly recommended!

  • "Booked this weekend for the other half's birthday, chance to get out into the countryside."

Beautiful secluded location in a small village, the area is shared with two other identical huts. Herdwick is the hut in-between the two, we didn't feel overlooked although you can hear others in the other huts. Slightly difficult to find owners were lovely and came out to the road to help us locate it. Once in, the area has been purpose built for mini stays. Lovely outdoor fire pit area which if you were more than one couple would be a good place to spend the evening. The hut is exactly as per the pictures, really adorable space to spend the weekend. No TV but a good radio and excellent wifi for anything you may need electronics for. The view from the hot tub was perfect, like a window into the countryside. We ordered a takeaway from Retford and spent the second day in Lincoln at the cathedral and the castle. We also cooked at the hut and on the outdoor stove. A car is definitely needed to get yourself around the area. Lovely picturesque escape, with the church bells ringing on the hour and half hour, with sheep as your neighbours.

Thank you for the wonderful feedback we’re so happy you enjoyed your stay with us. Property Owner
