  • "What a beautiful house and garden right in the heart of Nantwich."

The facilities are excellent with dishwasher, washing machine, range cooker in the fantastic large kitchen/diner come family room with a utility the size of my kitchen. The lounge was large and comfortable. The games room fantastic in size and decoration but unusable at night due the dimmer switch staying on dim! There was a problem with the water pressure but as there was only 4 of us, not a problem. Great bathroom (lovely design) and en-suite. Shame about the garden cushions. Need a waterproof box outside for storage. PLEASE LEAVE THE INSTRUCTION BOOK ON DISPLAY NOT HIDDEN IN ONE OF THE DOZENS OF CUPBOARDS.

Fell in love with the house

  • "The house was in a great location and the bedding and bathrooms were clean."

The cleanliness of the kitchen was poor. There was a bad smell due to a bag of moldy dog food left in one of the cupboards. The dishwasher didn’t clean the dishes very well as the filter was clogged with white stuff and needed a thorough clean out. Agree with the previous reviewers comments about the low water pressure plus garden furniture and gazebo needing some attention.

The water pressure dreadfully place dirty food left in cupboards and fridges main fridge didn’t work couldn’t get tvs to work properly the down stairs and outside soft furnishings dirty and badly worn all floors dirty and would benefit from a deep clean bedding clean but duvets underneath stained awning outside dripped dirty water from top onto the garden furniture and also was quite unstable such a shame lovely house lovely venue but needs some upgrading

  • "The main complaint was only one person could shower in one bathroom at a time."

If anyone used water in the rest of the house the water diverted and the shower stopped. Learnt this the hard way, middle of my shower and water stopped as some one had a shower downstairs. So we had a rota the next morning, manageable for two nights but not if you were staying a week. The overall cleanliness was ok if you didn’t look above eye level. Garden furniture had not been cleaned had to wipe it all down before family could use it, some needs replaced and green mould removed. General maintenance could be done, tap in on suite loose, chipped paint work, trees in garden cut back, rail in main bedroom with net curtain fell down on my head. But we did have a great family get together on Saturday, there is loads of room and the kitchen and garden were a great space to entertain, bifold doors open and children played in the garden

  • "Anglesey House was absolutely perfect for our stay whilst attending a wedding at Dorfold Hall."

It was well-equipped and clean and clear instructions were left about everything. The only negative was that the water pressure upstairs was terrible if any water was being run downstairs. Other than that would recommend thoroughly

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, it really means a lot to us. We hope you enjoyed your wedding at Dorfold too, such a beautiful venue! We will have a look to see if there’s anything we can do to increase water pressure when multiple water sources are being used. Thanks again, hope to see you again if visiting Nantwich. • "A great house for a family get together."

Spacious, clean and close to the restaurants, bars and shops of Nantwich. We enjoyed the light and airy open plan kitchen/diner, which opened onto a large patio and garden, and also the games room with pool table, table tennis and darts board. Thanks for a lovely welcome pack.

Thank you very much for your lovely feedback! We’re so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Anglesey House. Glad to see you enjoyed your welcome pack too with some local treats! Hopefully we will see you again soon! Property Owner

  • "State of property is miserable and a bit unsafe for those with young families."

Looks beautiful on the surface, and the location is great for local attractions, but the owners do not care about the cleanliness or maintenance state of the property. Fridge, freezer and dishwasher were full of mould and bacterial growth and kitchen cabinets and dishes were dirty, soft furnishings in living areas were filthy and stained, floors were clearly unmopped, some of the towels provided were marked with dirt, and cobwebs everywhere. Half the garden is unsafe for children - despite photos showing otherwise, the trampoline has been taken over by plant overgrowth and is clearly unsafe to use, and there is a filthy playhouse that contains garden tools and equipment (despite the ginormous shed nearby). Upstairs - there is a net curtain rod in the master bedroom that is clearly not attached to the walls and fell and hit my arm when curtains were drawn, bruising me badly, and the stair banister is coming away from the wall, rendering it unsafe. Other lesser quirks include that water cannot be run in more than one location / sink / loo at any one time, and there is enough moisture in the bedrooms to warrant the use of moisture traps balanced on the sash window frames. At first we thought that the owners were simply let down by their cleaners and whoever manages the maintenance of the property. However, it is now clear it’s the owner’s general attitude (and Sykes aren’t that interested in helping either) - having reported all this to Sykes and the owner on the day of our arrival, and after several emails, the owner’s responses have simply been to claim they can’t understand our complaints because the property was “deep cleaned” for 4 days up to the day before our arrival and in fact they’re concerned we took shelves out of the fridge to be cleaned (they requested photos as evidence of our complaints). Overall, proceed with caution and be prepared to spend several hours cleaning the property yourself if reasonable hygiene and safety are important to you.

We appreciate all feedback but this is neither a fair or true reflection on the property or the service / communication received by Sykes and the property owners. The feedback is at complete odds with all other feedback and reviews we have received. We’d like to reassure all current and future bookings that we care very much about our guest experiences and go above and beyond to ensure they have a fantastic stay with us in a clean and safe environment, employing a team of housekeepers to service and maintain Anglesey House. Because of the false and inflammatory nature of these claims we were unable to offer the refund requested by the guest, and we feel this is the reason the guest has unfortunately posted such a potentially damaging review. We have reported to Sykes directly. Property Owner

  • "Fantastic house and great for groups."

We celebrated a 50th birthday with friends and family and we had an amazing stay. Made the most of the fabulous garden with the lovely weather we had. This house is huge and we’d love to come back maybe in the winter months and use more of the inside. We literally spent all weekend in the kitchen diner and outside. Would come again for sure

Hello! Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, we’re so pleased you enjoyed your stay and that your special celebrations went well! We’d love for you to make a return visit and look forward to welcoming you back to Anglesey House. Property Owner

About the location

NANTWICH

Crewe 5 miles; Wrenbury 5.5 miles; Sandbach 10 miles; Whitchurch 11.1 miles

The delightful market town of Nantwich is located 5 miles to the south east of Crewe and stands on the banks of the River Weaver and the Shropshire Union Canal. It is famous for its outdoor Brine Pool which is one of the few remaining in the UK and heated throughout the summer. There are regular market days throughout the week and a monthly farmers' market showcasing the best of produce from the local area. Nantwich town centre is pedestrianised and benefits from some superb examples of historic buildings, and is well worth visiting in spring and summer when it comes alive with floral displays throughout the streets. Nantwich plays host to many events throughout the year, including The Battle of Nantwich in January, the Jazz, Blues and Music Festival at Easter and the world-famous International Cheese Awards in July. Both Market Drayton and Whitchurch are within 12 miles and well worth a day trip to enjoy their history and architecture.
