  • "We had a great stay at the loft, we loved the hustle and bustle of the working farm completely different atmosphere to what we're used to and loved being surrounded by nature."

The location was great and easily accessible to many areas with a drive. The hot tub was an added bonus, which we all enjoyed. One very large room with 2 double beds and a smaller room with a double bed, my boys were made up getting to sleep in their own double bed whilst I had the smaller room for myself. Everyone was lovely and welcoming. Aileen was a great host and even shown us around the farm where I got to see my beloved Highland cows. Thank you for a great stay, which was exactly what I needed a break away from everything, making our stay a wonderful home from home. When we arrived there was a lovely bouquet of fresh flowers, milk and biscuits again exactly what was needed after a long journey. Thank you Aileen and Andrew for a great stay, I will be back again in the future

  • "The Loft was comfortable and had everything we needed for our few days away."

Aileen was very helpful with the few questions we asked and sorted out the cheeping smoke alarm as soon as we mentioned it. There is some building work going on - it is was it is, but it didn’t disturb us at all. We made use of the hot tub - welcome after a busy day! The working farm was certainly busy, and there is farmyard noise - but it was nice to be in the midst of it and the lovely farm dogs made our dog Stella very welcome! A nice base for a few days sight-seeing- no complaints from us.

  • "First off ignore feedback from visitors in Jan 24, this is one of THE most comfortable properties we have stayed in."

It was better than anticipated. Aileen was a fantastic host and ensured we had everything we needed and had left coffee, tea and milk for us so we have a drink once settled in. I checked that we could bring our 3 cats with us as this detail had changed after booking and she was great about this. Our girls absolutely loved it, especially the stairs as we live in a flat. They were playing for hours then chilled out. The beds are soo comfy found it hard to wake up, the hot tub was amazing and gave me such relief from my osteoarthritis. We enjoyed the cottage so much we've rebooked for next year for 2 weeks for my 60th birthday. I would happily live there. Don't forget to visit the cows but ask first as this is a busy farm

  • "On first inspection the cottage seems lovely, shown where hot tub was which was inside a dirty building which was surrounded by furniture from one of the cottages, only found the games room by chance as wasn’t shown it, it only had pool table and football game, the table tennis table was flat up against the wall and darts board had no darts, this building was also very messy and dirty, not suitable for children as stairs up to it are steel and dangerous if a child fell."

We only had half a shelf to put our food stuff in as all the cupboards were full of rubbish, and two of the pots we were using had to be washed as they had dried in food on them, no locks on bathroom doors, and the noise from the pipes during the night and day was awful you had to get out of bed and run the water for the noise to stop. This place is not near anything which is what we wanted, we only wanted to relax not sightsee, the hot tub and games room was what sold it for us given us exactly what we wanted but we were very disappointed as wouldn’t use hot tub inside that dirty building, don’t know why it couldn’t have been outside as there was plenty of space, and games room was a total let down as it didn’t supply what it offered and needs a good clean and clear out,we never once saw the owner to ask us if everything was okay not even when leaving.

Thank you for your feedback and the issues highlighted. We appreciate you pointing out these to us as the issues cannot be resolved unless we are told about them. We perhaps could have sorted out some of the issues if you had told us during your stay. Our door is always open. Thank you again Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay here, the owners were really nice and friendly."

Little bit Noisy, but then it is a working farm, and advertised as a working farm, so you know what to expect. Annan, is a great little town, with lovely river walks for the dogs and we went on an entertaining ghost tour. Plenty of places to eat, and easy distance to local attractions. The farm animals looked clean and well looked after,We had a really nice time

  • "Fantastic cottage for a family of 4."

Spacious, warm, clean, homely, with everything we needed for a week and longer. Children had plenty of space to play, ride bikes outside and farm dogs made best company for them. Do bring heavy duty balls and a chucker with you as they love playing fetch. Playroom and hot tub were used almost every day to chill and relax after cold day outside. We had Netflix on TV which was amazing and not expected. All appliances worked perfectly. Dishwasher, washing machine and a tumble dryer makes it so easy to care for a family. Aileen and Andrew were mega friendly and welcoming from the arrival to waving good buy as we were leaving. Girls cried how they loved the place and wanted to stay. They is an uplifting vibe about the whole farm which we picked up straight away. Family even allowed us to go round their farm and learn many facts about livestock we had no idea existed. Family works very hard to keep the farm beautiful, operational and very welcoming. Very inspirational to experience it in Scotland. We loved our rural week with the girls and will definitely come back next year. Thank you, Aileen and Andrew, for allowing us to experience a very different break we so needed. See you next year! Chaudhry Family.

Lovely views and very close to various walks and bike rides in the area. We made good use of the hot tub and also the games room. Each morning, as soon as you opened the accommodation door you got greeted by the owners dog with his tail wagging and ball in his mouth wanting to play :-) All in all a great time, Would defiantly stay here again.

About the location

ANNAN

Dumfries 15.7 miles; Carlisle 20 miles

The town of Annan, a former harbour, lies on the banks of the River Annan, in East Dumfries and Galloway, and is steeped in history, with the area once the site of Roman camps and the workplace of the writer Thomas Carlyle. Each year, the town celebrates the Riding of the Marches, in honour of the Royal Charter bestowed by King James V, which involves parades, massed pipe bands and competitions. The area around Annan has many small towns, picture postcard villages and hamlets, plus beautiful unspoilt coastline, with sandy beaches and hidden coves. Visit nearby Caerlaverock Castle, one of Scotland's finest ruined castles or Annandale Distillery. Take a day trip and marvel at the majestic architecture of the grand abbeys of Melrose and Jedburgh or visit the northern Lake District and the historic Hadrian’s Wall. Annan is an ideal base for exploring this lovely area.
