"The flat has everything you need for a whole week and even more."
It is well located as it is at the beginning of the main street of Aberfoyle and the Co-op is only a few steps from the flat, which is very handy to do the shopping every time we needed to buy something. We had a warm welcome from the chatty owner who explained everything we needed to know for our stay. There is no doubt that if I have to go back to the same place again, I will definitely choose to stay in the same flat with pleasure.

"Very cosy and practical apartment to stay in whilst in the Trossachs."
Used it as a base to explore hills around Loch Lomand, Arrochar and Loch Tay also. Excellent oven which we used often as well as a super useful washer/dryer machine. Really enjoyed the Rolf Lassgard Wallander DVDs which kept us going during the week! Stairs were not easy for my father, but we were made aware of that beforehand and he just about coped OK and let me do all the carrying! Overall a fantastic stay.

The kitchen very well equipped. The bed and bedding in the main bedroom that we used was extremely comfortable. Newly kitted out bathroom with walk in shower excellent. Great location with a Co-op across the road and coffee shops and pubs on the Main Street 2 mins away. Lots of parking too. We had a great stay!

The owner was there when we arrived and took care to make sure everything was good for us.
There is local information available in the flat, and we did a couple of beautiful walks during our short stay. Aberfoyle itself is a lovely place with friendly service in all the shops and cafés I visited. I'd love to stay there again.

"Great little apartment in a very good location to explore the Loch lomond and the trossachs national park."
Co-op just across the road that was very handy. Beware of low ceilings as I did bump my head a couple of times and I'm only short. The fire was great and warmed me up fast as it was colder in the evenings. Felt safe here as a solo traveller. Would recommend to stay here.

"Had a great time in the apartment."
I can’t fault the apartment for the price we paid. It’s very well equipped. The only thing I’d probably suggest would be refresh to the living room furniture at some point, but it is all perfectly serviceable . All in all great value and good location for all outward bound activities!

"For me it was a perfect base for a hiking holiday."
Clean, comfortable bed, kitchen that had everything I needed, although I ate out 4 of the 7 nights as Aberfoyle has 2 good pubs offering food, a restaurant and Fish and Chip shop.
The living room is small, but I was on my own so that wasn't an issue for me.
I'd go back.

"The property is situated in the perfect place to explore all surrounding areas and especially the trossachs."
The apartment is on the top floor 33 steps we found it to be clean and tidy (I didn't score top marks as in the cupboards are a lot of out of date goods I suspect left by other guests but this should have been cleaned out),we had everything we needed in the apartment and the owner kindly left us tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. My low score for comfort is because the beds we so hard myself and my husband had to sleep separately and still had hardly any sleep because they were so uncomfortable, we loved the area but would sadly not stay at this property again .

"This was the best accommodation we have had since lock down."
It was clean and comfortable, and had a well-fitted kitchen, two double bedrooms, wifi, television, toiletries, etc. The owner was helpful and friendly and there are many good walks from Aberfoyle or nearby. The cosy sitting room suited us perfectly but a family of four might find it too small and those with mobility issues should consider the 33 steps to its second floor location. I should definitely recommend it.

"Nothing went wrong, but the flat was most definitely only for two and cramped at that."
It may well sleep four but four could never spend a comfortable week there.
Aberfoyle was lacking in eating places and they all had the same four dishes on offer Burger/Mac & Cheese/Fish & Chips/Steak Pie, and whilst it was ideally situated for daytime outdoor pursuits there was absolutely ZERO to do in the evenings
Sorry you felt it necessary to complain that during the pandemic Aberfoyle was not able to offer you a wide choice of dinners you would have liked. I can only assume that as a retired person you were a little removed from the reality that many hoteliers and pub owners had to face during the pandemic. I'm glad to say that most hospitality venues in Aberfoyle have managed to survive a difficult few years. I can only hope that their menu's improve to meet the expections of visitors such as yourselves - but unfortunately that is beyond my control. I also am sorry that despite my making it clear in my description of the Aberfoyle apartment that it was 'comfy' and designed for 3 people at best that you should say it was not suitable for 4 people!!

The owner also left fresh milk and some shortbread there; a nice touch. The kitchen was well-equipped and the village's Co-Op store is quite well stocked too.

"I think ikt would be correct for you to tell people interested in renting this property that it has 37 steps up to it, and that may prevent some people like myself who have a disability making the same mistake I made."
The apartment was ok but very small and dark, when you put the table up in the lounge there was no room for anything else.
Overall I would not book this apartment again, but that is due to the stairs, people who are active would find this a very good place to stay, as the area is quite beautifiul and has much to offer.

The slate tiles on the roof and the gutters and down-pipes were in need of attention. Just an observation that the owners of the properties need to be aware of.
Great location, lots of loch-side and mountain walks, and stunning views over to Ben Lomond from the top of Aberfoyle golf course. Well worth the effort to get there!

"The apartment was lovely - no issues."
Met the owner who was very nice. Had everything I needed.
The only issue I had was with Sykes. Booking was made on Booking.com, who then made the booking with Sykes. Just a few hours after making the booking I asked if I could cancel the booking. Even when I explained why (on Booking.com) I was simply told no, because the contract said no refunds. If the request had been passed on by Sykes to the owner, the request for refund would have been honoured. It was a bank holiday weekend, so no problem with getting another booking.

"We rented for two people and had more than enough space in this cozy apartment conveniently located close to the Co-op (supermarket), gift shops (several), butchers (2), and restaurants (many)."
The Co-op has everything, from sandwiches to meat and veg. We stopped at Liz MacGregor's restaurant and coffee shop and we enjoyed a breakfast and a soup, which were very good and recommended. One night we had dinner at The Faerie Tree - also within walking distance - and splurged on their 'black rock' menu items. £50 for two, but lots of fun to cook top quality steak, gammon, and prawns on a volcanic rock! The sides were cooked and presented marvelously! The other dinners were bought from the Co-op and both butcher shops. The Aberfoyle Butcher on the edge of town is the more traditional and we got fantastic steaks and a variety of tasty sausages, including one with haggis. The other one is the Aberfoyle Delicatessen and Trossachs Butcher, and as the name suggests, has more items, including the best steak pies ever. The owner, left us milk, shortbread, a soft drink, and other tea/coffee items, which were appreciated. The apartment is spotlessly clean, with everything we needed, and the appliances worked perfectly. In the apartment, the bedrooms are spacious with lots of storage - wardrobes and drawers. There is a second TV in the master bedroom. The view from the second bedroom looks down on the main street, a stone bridge and the river. There is not much traffic, but the windows are double glazed anyway. Decor has plenty of tartan, which is lovely. The kitchen and bathroom are perfect for the size of property and everything worked perfectly. There are heaters everywhere to use if the temperature drops below normal, which it did on a couple of days, but the apartment was lovely and warm. It is very convenient to the Go Ape attraction at the David Marshall Lodge, Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. We went there for the wildlife hide and got great photos of red squirrels and birds, such as robins and a tree creeper. Beyond that, there are lovely lochs to explore with tons of photographic opportunities, whatever the weather. All in all, great accommodation in a picturesque area of Scotland.
