  • "We stayed for a week , 3 adults and 2 children."

The cottage is very comfortable , in a quiet area within walking distance from all the amenities in whitehills. The kitchen has everything you might need. We had an amazing stay and would definitely come back.

  • "The cottage is finished and furnished to a high standard and is lovely."

I would just like to point out a couple of things, the downstairs bedroom which we used would be far better if there was a mirror over the chest of drawers rather than a TV/DVD player, there is nowhere with a mirror next to a plug for hair drying/make up purposes, I used the upstairs twin room and leant over to see in the mirror on the door to dry my hair. Also in the shower cubicle a hanging caddy for shampoo and shower gel etc would be useful so that you aren't having to scrabble around for the bottles etc. Apart from that we had a fabulous stay and would highly recommend

  • "We were staying to attend a wedding unfortunately the facilities were not there ..."

We were staying to attend a wedding unfortunately the facilities were not there in any of the rooms to accommodate us having a stress free morning getting ready There are no mirrors in the bedrooms no place to dry hair or put makeup on We would have liked to get ready in the privacy of our own rooms Doing makeup and hair in the mirror at the front door wasn’t what we expected and having to go up and down the tiny stairs more than should have been necessary wasn’t good There was no full length mirror any where in the cottage We knew there was one bathroom and worked round this but the lack of these facilities impacted our stay Originally booked to accommodate our little dog who sadly didn’t make it as a wedding guest The bedding quilt cover on the beds was rough on the skin maybe a bit past it’s best Written down this may seem like a lot but I’m sure with the addition of these few things would mean each guest could enjoy getting ready for the day in the privacy of their own rooms The kitchen area is lovely and well equipped with the large seating area to gather round The bathroom is spotless and the shower is good pressure and always had hot water The weather during our stay wasn’t the best so we didn’t have an opportunity to explore but we were there to attend a wedding therefore a different type of visit luckily the sun came out in time and we had a lovely day The area all around is lovely especially in the sunshine just a shame we couldn’t take advantage of the garden

  • "Such a lovely, spacious, well-equipped house!"

Felt like a home rather than a holiday rental. Great garden, enclosed for dogs, with a side gate that leads you down to the seashore. You can see the sea from the ground floor bedroom window. Fabulous big kitchen, great bath and powerful shower. A stone's throw away from The Seafield Arms, who sell amazing food. A wonderful place to stay.

Clean, cosy & comfortable. Loved the modernisation of large kitchen/dining area & bathrooms. Lots of nice walks from the door, and spent time (so lucky with the weather) in quiet sun-trap garden just relaxing. Hope to return next year.

  • "Ideal base for exploring the Banffshire area."

House was clean and well maintained. I appreciated the use of a washing machine and it was well stocked with essentials if you needed to do a washing. Beds were comfortable and the house was very dog friendly. Although we didn't need them, there was also a selection of toys/games to entertain the kids if we had been stuck indoors. I only wish we could have stayed for longer!

  • "This is a return visit as we loved the cottage so much in October 2021."

It was lovely to see our previous feedback had clearly been read by the owners of this beautiful cottage, which shows how much they care about your stay. The cottage was so cosy and so warm to come back to after blowy days walking in the different parts of the coastal trail. There was a fleecy blanket for our pooch along with poo bags incase you forget yours. The kitchen has everything you need and more. The cottage is perfectly situated for walks to the Whitehills harbour and rocky beach, but being right on the coastal trail you are so close to beaches/towns of Banff, Cullen, Pennan etc. We love how dog friendly the owners clearly are(a shame the previous occupants didn't have the same attentiveness as they had left dogs mess in the garden, why spoil it for everyone whilst giving the owners a bad name). We have fallen in love with this home from home and would most definitely be wanting to return again and again, the only thing that would make us consider other accommodation is the bed, although Silent Night mattresses we didn't sleep well and had sore backs for the best part of the holiday. Very comfy sofas, love the fact there is a separate shower cubicle and bath. The garden albeit totally enclosed(larger dogs that jump could escape if left alone outside) I still feel the VERY thorny bushes are an extreme hazard. End on a positive note; was gutted to be leaving.

Hi Michele, Thanks for your lovely feedback, The house has just been extended and renovated making even nicer with underfloor heating in the remodelled areas and a new bed and mattress in the main bedroom. We are nature lovers and the dog rose hedge you mention is prickly, but it is SO good for the Bees and Butterflies as it flowers. The Sparrows and Blackbirds go mad for the rose hips and for this reason we keep it as controlled as possible but love it and we hope our guests can too. Property Owner

  • "The cottage is beautiful, cosy and convenient and would most definitely consider returning should we holiday that way in the future."

The only thing we found which wasn't really a huge problem to us was the back is missing from the cupboard with the pans in and they are falling back into the old fire place, the cupboard with the salt pepper etc hadn't been cleaned and there were two trays along side of the pan cupboard that had food on them still. As I said this did not affect our stay and we cleaned the cupboard out which wasn't a hardship(it was nice to have condiments available to us). Beautiful garden and the views are stunning, we were watching the dolphins from the snug. It would be good to know in advance there is not a toilet upstairs. Just a note to the owner that the bushes at the back of the property as they will be aware is VERY spiky and not great for dogs eyes or children's hands. Thank you for letting your beautiful property out to dog owners especially and I hope we left it to their satisfaction(we have a big hairy dog, so were paranoid about keeping the carpets clean). • "We feel that this property does not meet your usual standards."

The damp/condensation issue, whereby an industrial sized dehumidifer has to be on all the time, is unacceptable. On arrival the cottage stank of damp, which was the main issue, but there was a lot of chipped paint on the stairs and floor by the bathroom, there was rust on the edge of the bath and the hinges on the toilet seat were corroded. Interestingly there was no comments book at this cottage and we notice that you had had other complaints, however on balance we felt your company dealt with our complaint satisfactorily.

Payment options were well defined, arrival and departure information clearly outlined timely in e-mails. The village itself is a lovely clean place with gorgeous scenic walks and very pet friendly as our pup would testify to. All amenties are within walking distance from the cottage. It is also a good basr within travelling distance to larger towns. We will most certainly return in the future. Thank you.

  • "Cottage is quite spacious and orderly."

It is well situated in the village of Whitehill, and provides really good accommodation for two people..and a dog. However we had three issues of concern A. The main double bed. This was small for anyone over 6 foot. We had to use it as a single. Two mattresses raised the height, but not the comfort. B. The accommodation smelt very damp on arrival, and some parts never dried up during our stay. C. The central heating. There were instructions as to its arrangements and how to turn it on or off. These didn't work, and we had to operate it manually.
