Polyphant Cottages
For a relaxing break amid pretty countryside, our holiday
cottages in the small hamlet of Polyphant are worth a closer look.
Meet Faith, Hope and Charity - the '3 Cows on't Green',
a quirky name for the village shop, stocked with all kinds of
goodies from bread and cakes to local meats and chutneys.
For supermarkets, traditional butcher, baker, greengrocer,
weekly indoor market and monthly outdoor Butter Market (March to
December), Launceston is just six miles away.
It is a delightful town to explore, with its narrow streets,
14th century gatehouse, Georgian houses and hilltop
castle. Visit the Lawrence House Museum for a lesson on local
history, or step aboard the Launceston Steam Railway for a
five-mile trip by narrow gauge train.
Outdoor fun for everyone!
Walkers will love the choice of rural lanes, footpaths and
bridleways crisscrossing lush, green meadows and wooded valleys.
The wild landscapes of Bodmin Moor are another
option, with refreshments on hand at the famous Jamaica Inn. Or
drive north and walk a chunk of the coastal path, just 14 miles
from our Polyphant holiday homes.
The north coast is also a hotspot for water sports, especially
surfing and you'll find a good number of surf schools at
Widemouth Bay, just south of Bude.
Nearer home and promising non-stop fun and adventure, plan a
daytrip to Trethorne Leisure Park, featuring crazy golf,
trampolines, assault course, paddleboats, aerial glide, ten-pin
bowling, dodgems, indoor play, farm animals and lots more!
