  • "Enjoyed our stay at Mount View."

Very rare to find somewhere in Penzance with parking. Beds were lovely and comfortable. No terrestrial tv, would've been nice to catch up on the early news. Could do with redecorating too. Would stay here again for sure.

  • "Third year we have stayed in this flat."

It feels like home from home. Very comfortable with great views across harbour and Mounts Bay. Spacious lounge and large bedrooms. A place where you feel you can sit reading a book on the huge comfy sofa looking at the view on a rainy day without feeling like you are missing out. Easy to run down for a swim in Abbey Wharf at high tide which is about 100m down the slipway from the flat and then run back up for a hot shower afterwards. Good to get around to other places e.g Sennen, St Ives and Porthleven are all about 20minutes drive away. The flat is a 3-5 minute walk to the cafes, pubs and shops in Penzance centre.

It was warm and cosy, even when the weather wasn't! It's in a great location with a lovely view of the harbour, and very convenient for shopping and public transport. We arrived by train and used buses to get around. We would happily return.

  • "The property is well appointed and is in an excellent location."

The kitchen, living room, and bedrooms offer many good facilities as described in your listing. However, a few things are less than ideal. Your listing photos were probably taken some time ago and flatter some rooms. The dining chairs and the sofas, and also the bathroom decor have deteriorated somewhat since those photos were taken.

  • "We worked out the best way to arrive at the parking space."

Follow the one way system onto Chapel Street, turn left at the Admiral Benbow into Abbey Street, turn left into New Street, then turn left into the cobbled courtyard. There is space marked Mount View for your car. The slipway is narrow, cobbled and tidal and we wouldn't recommend it. There is a spiral staircase to the apartment. Two large steps into the bathroom and two large steps into the inner hall. The kitchen is small, there is a large lounge diner with lovely view of the slipway, bridge and the beaches in the distance. The tidal pool below is very popular with wild swimmers and there are benches for your clothes. There are two large double bedrooms. The apartment is furnished in country house style and there are ample books and games . We had a cosy week there, we enjoyed exploring Penzance, the pubs such as the Admiral Benbow, Turks Head and the Longboat Inn. There are several parks in Penzance, Morrab and Penlee, which has a great cafe and museum. There is a deli called the Cornish Hen and Baker Tom's bakery. A good selection of shops. The bus service to Long Rock, Marazion, or Mousehole, St Ives and Truro is very good. The coastal park walk from Penzance takes you to Long Rock and the Mexico Inn or further on into Marazion.

  • "We found the apartment to be quite dirty, outside of kitchen cupboards, plug holes had not been cleaned."

The hob was filthy. It appears the cleaner just wiped over without moving anything. The arm chairs and sofa were most uncomfortable, and the double mattress needs renewing, we both rolled into the middle, back ache every morning. We also has a problem parking most days, as other guests had more than one car and kept blocking parking spaces. Communication with owner was very good. But would not stay there again

It is very well equipped and the cream tea left for us was a lovely. Had a slight problem with the tv but Jonathon the caretaker, soon fixed it. Views from the lounge are amazing and the property situation was perfect for us.

  • "Hi A lovely homely appartment that was well furnished with very comfortable beds and seating."

Spacious and well equipped. the views are lovely. Perfect for a wet week - if we had to stay in for a bit it felt fine just sitting with a book and admiring the view. The 'dry dock' area just a hundred meteres from the appartment was great for swimming at high tide- easy just to run down a quick swim then back for a hot shower. Also owner was quick to respond and very helpful when we had a small problem. My only tiny gripe was instructions for getting there- was not clear that the entrance is actually in another street and there is no sign on Abbey Street for the property so it took a while to find running up and down in torretial rain and no one seemed to know where it is. Also satnav takes you to the bottom of a very steep cobbled slope that says it is unsuitable for cars so directions around via Chapel Street woud be helpful.

  • "The location is wonderful!"

Superb views and great central location with parking space which is like gold dust in Pz. The apartment is so elegantly furnished and decorated with many delightful touches. The kitchen is well equipped. Thank you for the welcome cream tea. There were a couple of technical issues (plumbing, internet/television) but the swift availability of Superman Handyman Jonathan got things sorted. Getting in and out of the bath/shower was a challenge and we are not fans of fixed showerheads! The description could perhaps be clearer about the number and depth of external and internal steps. But it was wonderful to be back in Pz and we had a great time.

  • "The big selling point is its perfect location and an allocated car parking space."

The owner has decided to make it characterful as opposed to the standard minimalistic appearance and it works. As such, faults can be found if you look hard enough, but the point is that you don't, you enjoy the place for what it is. The fact we returned after having visited for the first time last year is the best recommendation you can give.

  • "We really enjoyed this property."

It is quirky and has an equally quirky location but with parking. Quite important in Penzance. It is high up with views over the harbour and St Michael’s Mount. There are a few steps internally though so this needs to be considered before booking especially if you have any mobility issues. We were impressed that, when we reported a problem, it was dealt with immediately. For example we reported that there was no microwave. By the time we got back from our day out a new had been installed. The only facility missing is a washing machine but it’s hard to think where one could be installed anyway. Service washes are available in town launderettes but rolling down in a towel and using radiators worked for us. A simple clothes airer would have been useful.

Beautiful and highly recommended spot. Only thing I'd say is the bed mattress is very soft. Not too bad on the singles, but on the double if one person moves the whole bed moves! But it's a lovely apartment for a family of four. Great paddle boarding opportunity just outside.

This property is very comfortable and stylish. It is well equipped, kept to a very high standard of cleanliness and is in a great location. Feels like home when you arrive, very calm, it has a lovely vibe and is very private. There is no bland, bare holiday let sensibility here. This apartment has real character. The garden is a small retreat, secret and secluded. Perfect. One of my favourite holiday properties ever. Thank you, Mount View.

Very dusty bookshelves and lamps. The cooker hood was greasy, goodness knows when it was cleaned last. Other areas ok , just, but when we moved one of the chairs someone’s hairbrush was there so obviously only superficial vacuuming. The bedroom off the sitting room smelt very damp, might be a problem for those suffering from asthma. The TV was difficult to use and the volume kept dropping off, great difficulty re establishing it. The last evening we watched Netflix as we were unable to tune into mainstream tv.

  • "What a lovely apartment."

Had a great few nights away and this is a perfect apartment. Everything we needed with a lovely cream tea welcome as well. Fantastic views out - spent ages just sitting on the windows with a coffee. Perfect little tidal harbour area - our 2 girls spent ages playing in the water there. Very close to the high street as well. For a coastal walk we took a taxi to Lamorna and then walked back. Lamorna to Mousehall is lovely, Mousehall to Penzance is OK as well but not quite so picturesque. We also took the girls (14 and 15) for a longer walk. Parked at Porthcurno, walked back up the road and then to Nanjizal beach (plan to spend an hour or so here it's amazing). From Nanjizal, the SW coastal path is great back to Porthcurno. Very sorry to be home again! Could have stayed for ever. Thanks very much.

  • "Great place but a note in the description to say access to the front door is via an uneven external stone staircase would possibly be helpful for anyone whose mobility wasn’t in tip top condition."

Also that once up the stairs and in the front door there are 2 steps into the kitchen, 2 further steps up from the kitchen into the bathroom and 2 steps down from the kitchen to the hall leading to lounge and bedrooms.

  • "Lovely apartment, the cleanliness could have been improved and the bathroom was in need of redecorating."

It would have been nice to have been able either to wash our towels or had a change in towels as using the same towel for a week wasn’t ideal. There was no where in the apartment to dry clothes or beach towels so maybe that is something to be aware of? Also, we did want to put heating on but there was no controls within the apartment to do this so one night we were very cold.

Time stands still between visits in this dog friendly apartment which has a comfortable country house feel. Everything was very clean and waiting ready for our arrival - including milk, a 'cream tea' and an enjoyable bottle of wine. The location is ideal and there is safe parking. Wake to the rising orange sun over the sea and the view of St Michael's Mount in the bay. Watch the activity in the harbour and the quay where the Scillonian (ferry to Scilly Isles) departs. Explore the network of sheltered walkways through Penzance and the many dog friendly pubs, cafes and parks. A place to recharge the batteries of the mind. We will be back.

We had a wonderful time in its relaxing comfort. Everything is top quality and it was one of the best equipped kitchens I've ever holidayed in. Beautiful crockery and cutlery. The furnishings and decoration were excellent, it was a real home from home. Even read a couple of books from the bookcase despite having brought my own holiday supply. The views were mesmerising, watching the sea and the buzz of Penzance. Comfy chairs and a massive sofa to stretch out on. Perfect base for the bottom end of Cornwall within easy reach of everywhere. Penzance hosts Golowan, the Midsummer Carnival, and The Literary Festival. There are also The Exchange, Newlyn and Penlee Art Galleries. One of Cornwall’s most popular holiday areas is the spectacular sweep of Mount’s Bay, from the cliffside fishing village of Mousehole through Penzance and around to beautiful Marazion, the coastline hides a wealth of sandy beaches, rocky coves as well as winding village streets and other places to visit and explore. Connected by a causeway to the shore at Marazion is the National Trust’s stunningly beautiful St Michael’s Mount with its hilltop castle and Mediterranean gardens. Walk across at low water and take one of the ferry boats back when the tide is up. Penzance with its winding streets, shops, clubs, restaurants and harbour is a must as it is the jumping-off point for day trips to the Isles of Scilly as well as being the harbor.
