• "This was our second visit to The Hive and we absolutely loved it."

  The apartment is beautiful, tastefully decorated, with good quality furnishings and very clean. On our first visit (a year ago), the washing machine was out of order, this has now been replaced. Also we suggested an airer would be a useful item to have available and one has been provided. The Hive restaurant serves delicious food and Sally and Jayne are friendly and great hosts. Stow on the Wold is in an ideal spot to visit other parts of the Cotswolds. We really enjoyed our trip to Stratford -upon- Avon. The Mad Museum (Mechanical art and design), was great. In Banbury we visited the town museum and loved taking some fantastic photos in the gallery "Surprise your Eyes" (Open until the 6th October), Thank you for a lovely stay.

• "All perfect, the owners were very helpful - if I had to make one comment ( although the owners did bring it forward to 5."

  00pm) is that a 6.00pm check-in is pretty late as you have to twiddle your thumbs in Stow for a bit. You have to check-out by 10.00am and 8 hours to turn around the property does seem quite a long time

• "Very enjoyable stay and extremely high class apartment with everything you require for a comfortable stay."

  Beds very comfortable and big. Only issue for us was intermittent poor wifi in the apartment but it was good in nearby cafes. Thank you to the owner who was going to address this problem. Delicious croissants left in the apartment for our arrival and a large container of fresh milk which was appreciated. Thank you for a lovely stay.

• "We loved our stay at The HIve."

  A perfect place to enjoy Stow on the Wold from the window whilst having breakfast. Extremely well equipped, spotlessly clean and immediate response from owners when contacted. We would definitely recommend this property to friends. The ONLY downside is the parking. Reversing up the lane and then having to angle into a parking spot was not ideal. However, this issue is clearly stated in the information before booking. A smaller car would definitely have made a difference!

• "A wonderful comfortable flat located on the high street with all facilities within easy walking distance."

  Everything you can imagine is provided and the accommodation is immaculate. Parking requires nerves of steel but is fine unless you have a really wide car. Hosts were charming and helpful - they run the cafe on the ground floor which provides one of the best breakfasts in the area. Had a wonderful week and would definitely recommend.

• "The Hive is a fantastic property."

  Beautifully furnished, very clean and comfortable. It is in a brilliant location for exploring the Cotswolds and it's position in Stow is very convenient. We were so lucky with the weather in our week (1st to 8th September) as there was an unexpected heatwave. It is situated above the Hive Cafe. however, we were not disturbed in any way by noise or smells from it. Also there is a pub next door. But again we were not disturbed by this. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. They left us lovely cakes and scones in the property for when we arrived. The Hive cafe also serves delicious food. We had one small disappointment in that the washing machine and dryer were out of order. The owner, however, did warn us about this before our arrival. It would have been useful to have a clothes airer provided. We loved our visit and hope to come back..

• "We enjoyed a lovely three nights at The Hive."

  The accommodation was clean and comfortable, and we especially enjoyed the main bedroom and bathroom. Unfortunately, the washing machine and drier were not working during our stay, and we were not advised that this was going to be the case ahead of our visit, which we would have appreciated as we usually like to do a wash before returning home. There were a couple of other minor issues that we alerted the owner about on arrival, but these did not distract from our enjoyment of our stay. Communication with the owner both before, and during our stay was very good. We would definitely return, and recommend to friends and family.

• "The Hive is a unique luxury 2 bed apartment."

  Spacious and comfortable, fully equipped kitchen including espresso maker right in the center of Stow-on-the-Wold. When I say luxury it is high end in every detail from the bedding to the showers and bath. I loved that the four of us could hang out in the living room as our own private space rather than a hotel lobby. The owners were charming and own the restaurant downstairs. The whole experience is 11/10.

• "Had a fabulous stay at the Hive."

  Very clean, comfortable and right in the heart of Stow-On-The-Wold village. The bee theme was the best surprise as I am a 'bee freak". Little dishes with bees on them, cushions and even a glass panel with bees etched on it. It eas hard to leave this place.

• "Have stayed at the Hive several times, which indicates that we're very happy with it!"

  The owners, Jayne and Sally, are lovely people who also have the cafe downstairs, and are readily available if any problems. The property is furnished with high quality gear throughout, and is ideally placed in Stow for either local walks/shops etc, or for short car trips to Bourton or Burford or similar. Bearing in mind that 'there's no place like home'(!), you can always find things you don't find ideal, but if you want a modern holiday property with good facilities both inside and out, there's no reason not to book. All being well, we'll be visiting again in 2021! I would've reviewed The Hive earlier, but the email went to my Spam folder and was only seen by me recently!

• "The Hive is a truly lovely property, very luxurious, and the location couldn't be better, being just a a stone's throw from the main market square."

  There was just one teeniest niggle, it almost sounds insulting to mention it as the kitchen facilities are superb, but when you are checking in (currently) at 6pm, it would have been nice not to have had to straight back out again for milk and teabags. I'm not suggesting a massive welcome pack, but a pint of milk, a small jar of coffee, a few tea bags and a packet of local biscuits would have been very welcome. Not a complaint - just a suggestion.

  Stow is a great base to explore and walk, with good transport links, friendly bars and fantastic options to eat out. The Hive is a superb flat, right in the heart of Stow and really is home from home. The accommodation has a quality feel, is very comfortable and well equipped. Perfect for 2, 3 or 4 guests.

• "Having stayed at the Hive before, we've been happy to stay again."

  Jayne and Sally (owners) are lovely people who also have the cafe downstairs; very convenient if any problems! All equipment / bedding is good quality. No cleanliness problems. There are a couple of maintenance issues but nothing that will adversely affect your stay. We use both bedrooms and - for the guidance of others doing the same - upstairs is in the eves and tight for headroom in places, especially in the WC, but obviously this hasn't been a deal-breaker for us! The Hive is well-located about 100 yards from the town square; there is a pub next door but we haven't heard anything offensive from there (ie: at chucking-out time), so not a problem. The cafe is always very busy, which says something in a town with quite a few cafes; all staff are great and food likewise. No reason for us not to return!

  Everything is top of the line, the appliances, the furniture, the bathrooms. And the beds are ultra-comfortable. Jayne is a wonderful host and runs the restaurant directly below the flat. The area is beautiful. If we had known they the Cotswolds were so beautiful, we would have stayed longer. Lots of places to visit nearby with many historic towns within short driving distance and many, many nice restaurants and pubs. If you are going to the Cotswolds, I highly recommend staying at Stow on the Wold and absolutely booking this amazing flat.

• "This is an extremely lovely apartment with the most amazing fixtures and fittings."

  I am usually resigned to not sleeping whenever I go away as I find all beds other than my own extremely hard and uncomfortable. Not here - the beds were so comfortable and the bed linen of such a good quality that I slept well throughout the stay. The apartment is fitted out with an array of high end equipment from Bosch to Miele and has plenty of plates, cutlery etc. The en-suite bathrooms had double headed showers and the towels were plentiful and very soft. Take heed of the owners warning about the parking space, we have a Qashqai and I would say this was even slightly too big for the space which was tricky to access. However that said, the parking space is a definite plus as parking in the village was quite difficult (it’s a very popular spot for visitors). Jane was very welcoming and the food at the Hive restaurant was wonderful especially the scones. The restaurant is very popular and as you access the apartment through the terrace with outside seating for customers you will have to ask people to move so you can access the stairs to the apartments front door.
