Shurton 0.5 miles; Stogursey 1 mile; Watchet 10 miles; Bridgwater 11 miles

The hamlet of Burton lies approximately nine miles North West of Bridgwater near the beautiful Quantock Hills and the Somerset coastline, with a welcoming country pub with a restaurant in walking distance. Nearby, the village of Stogursey offers a range of useful amenities, including a friendly pub frequented by the locals, a Post Office and shops. This idyllic, rural area of Somerset is popular with keen walkers and cyclists, who enjoy exploring The Coleridge Way. This stunning, long distance trail leads through the Quantock Hills, the Brendon Hills and Exmoor, a landscape that inspired Coleridge to produce some of his best-known poetry. A visit to Shurton Bars Beach is a must, with a small, sandy foreshore, pretty rock pools and outstanding views across the Bristol Channel to South Wales and the Brecon Beacons. The Steart Marshes nature reserve is extensive and consists largely of tidal mudflats and saltmarsh, a haven for waterfowl and unusual waders.
