  • "Brilliant property in idylic location."

Owners are decent helpful people. Previous comments regarding problems with the winding, narrow approach road are unfounded.

  • "The property could not have been sited better the views were to die for."

The road to and from the property was a nightmare so much traffic not enough room to pass on one occsssion had to reverse back a half a mile. The was no parasols for the table decking was in bad state and not suitable for having a dog stay. Would not go again and would not recommend it.

It is always best to check the area out before booking. We do not provide parasols as being so close to the sea there are often gusts of winds. You will note there are no other parasols on the small site because of this. I cannot understand regarding the decking. It is all new. We advise in the description that there is not a secure area for your dog. Other chalets are in the same situation. Property Owner

  • "We loved our stay at Sealark."

The Chalet is bright, warm and well equipped, although it would have been a tight fit for four of us! The location is wonderful, with sea views and easy access to dog-friendly Eype beach as well as walks along the coast and inland.

  • "Nice little place, the location is great and the views are lovely and as described."

Check in was easy and owner responded quickly to the question we had. Having the beach and costal walks at our doorstep was the selling point. Pub and mini market in walking distance were another plus. Sadly we couldn't use the outdoor seating area to enjoy the views due to the strong winds and rainy weather but that's in no one's control. The place was clean, tidy and bright and the kitchen was very well equipped. Perhaps the layout with kitchen table and seating area could be slightly better but was ok for us as we were only 3 people. Would also be nice to put your legs up after a long day walking, maybe something to think about. Board Games were provided too. Big disappointment were the twin beds, as mattresses were so uncomfortable, very hard and with springs poking through and had definitely seen better days, it was very difficult to get a good nights sleep. Something which could easily be rectified. Mattress on double bed is better and more comfortable, so we gave it to my 80 year old mum who came with us to sleep on. On the plus, linen and towels were clean, fresh and looked new. Late check in on arrival and early check out on the Sunday, plus cleaning before departure made it a bit stressful and less worth for money spend, especially then one only stays for a weekend. Overall however a lovely place, which we would certainly recommend and come back to, if mattress issue is addressed.

  • "On arrival no beds were made."

No towels provided. Single duvets were Badly stained. Made phone call which resulted in this being corrected Not able to use the central heating as this was locked system and therefore The Lodge was very cold in the evening and morning. Also concluded that the lodge had not been cleaned Very disappointed . Have to say the view was to did for.

Thank you for your feedback. I was very very surprised by your comments. I have followed this up with Lyme Bay Holidays today and found that the cleaners that were supposed to be cleaning the chalet did not turn up and Lyme Bay were not informed by them. Thankfully they sent a cleaner and this was rectified. I apologise for the stained duvets which were taken away immediately. However I understand that you were not going to use the single beds. The cleaner ensured that you were happy before she left. The heating is currently on a timer and it is does come on in the morning approx. 0700-10.00 and again 4.00pm-10.00pm - set at 21 degrees. This has been checked and is working. On the day you left I did come over and the heating had been on the and the chalet was very warm. The system has now been changed to adapt to customer needs. Arrival time is from 4.00pm. I have had this chalet for 18 years and until this September have run this myself and have never had a poor response. Lyme Bay Holidays now manage the chalet for me and they assure me this situation will not happen again. In addition I live close by and normally available if any issues arise. Property Owner

  • "We unfortunately had a breakdown en route and arrived during darkness."

The key safe would not unlock so we called several numbers inc emergency no as we had two small children with us. I received a text saying we would be called within 20 minutes…. Three days later I’m still waiting for the call. I eventually gained entry after an hour …. Not really impressed with the service. While the chalet is dog friendly the decking area is not… it’s open at either end so impossible to let the dog freely sit outside although other residents / guests don’t pay much attention to this . Also were unable to open several of the windows inc the kitchen one .

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you had trouble with the key safe. Unfortunately your contact with Lyme Bay Holidays is beyond our control. We have ensured the key safe is working correctly. The windows have been checked and found that only the kitchen one could not be opened - we apologise for this. Regarding your issue with your dog. Please note under the terms and conditions the dog has to be kept on a lead on site, this includes on the decking area. We do hope apart from your issues that you enjoyed our lovely chalet and the fantastic sea views. Property Owner

The contemporary, open-plan living space has been carefully considered to highlight the extensive views that stretch along the coast to Portland on a clear day.

What better way to start the day than relaxing with your morning coffee in the cosy seating area, taking in the views of the sea, while you plan your day ahead?

The fully-equipped kitchen offers everything needed for preparing tasty meals.

Large patio doors open from the living area onto a large wooden veranda at the front of the lodge where the table and chairs invite you to dine alfresco and enjoy this most enviable of locations.

The two bedrooms are located at the rear of the lodge, with a double room with sea views, and a twin room.

Both have fitted storage and share use of the family shower room.

Quietly located on a small select park in a wonderful cliff top setting, the property is only a brief stroll from the scenic Eype's Mouth beach, a fantastic location for beach goers and water sports enthusiasts alike.

The village of Eype, one of West Dorset’s prettiest villages, is brimming with thatched stone cottages dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries.

When you don’t feel like cooking, guests can enjoy a meal at The New Inn located in the village or a takeaway from Eype Eats, situated adjacent to Eype Mouth Chalet Park.

With direct access from the site to the South West Coast Path, avid walkers will delight in this scenic stretch of the coastline including Golden Cap, the highest point of the south coast.

The traditional market town of Bridport rests nearby, and offers visitors a great choice of fascinating attractions, with many well-known shops, antiques, and a bustling Saturday market.

Bucky Doo Square is the town's heartbeat with regular music and performances being enjoyed along with stalls and producers visiting from around the local area to sell unique gifts and delicious food and drink.

With West Bay's beach and historic harbour, all less than a mile away, the property is wonderfully located for a wide range of shops, restaurants, pubs, and cafes.

Other popular day trips include Lyme Regis with its famous Cobb Harbour and family friendly beach or Abbotsbury with its acclaimed Swannery and subtropical gardens.

Sealark offers an ideal getaway any time of the year.

One well-behaved dog welcome and must be kept on the lead at all times when on the site. Dogs welcome on the beach at Eype all year round

Please note that the road to the village of Eype and the chalet is a single track road which is narrow in places.

About the location

EYPE

Bridport 1.8 miles; Lyme Regis 9.6 miles; Seaton 18.4 miles.

Eype sits on one of the most dramatic sections of the Jurassic Coastline, and famously features one of ITV’s series Broadchurch’s most iconic locations. We’ll leave you guessing as to which one until you visit. The beach at Eype is a steeply shelving pebble beach that is dog friendly all year round and just 2 miles from Bridport and 4 from West Bay, where many other Broadchurch locations can be viewed, as well enjoying local fish and chips on the harbour side and ice creams on the seafront. You'll also find a SPAR supermarket selling essentials, as well as a selection of pubs and restaurants in the village, including The New Inn, the Admiral's Restaurant and Bar, and Martin's Bar and Restaurant. Bridport offers all the high street amenities you will need along with a much-coveted antiques and collectables market. Golden Cap, the highest point in Dorset, sits on the South West Coast path and is just 4 miles from Eype, although it’s the highest point there are moderate routes to walk to the top, where spectacular far reaching views along the coast will be your reward.
