  • "We had a lovely stay at Soltan Manor."

The location was perfect, with easy access to Dover & its castle . The house was clean and well-maintained, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Karen & Leianne were very helpful with any questions I had. The games room kept the big & little children occupied & the hot tub was perfect. We would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

  • "We had a wonderful family weekend at Solton Manor to celebrate my 70th birthday in April."

Five families enjoyed the spacious house with everything we needed. Hot tub and games room were in regular use. Young cousins even used it as a theatre venue and produced a show with the stairs and balcony. The weather was on our side for games on the lawn and an Easter Egg hunt in the garden. Kitchen not quite big enough, particularly the fridge but the spacious dining room made up for it as we all sat down to Sunday roast and celebration meal on Saturday. Any staff we met were most accommodating and kindly returned some children’s plates that we managed to leave behind. Would highly recommend Solton Manor for a family occasion or as a beautiful wedding venue. Already saving my pennies for a future visit.

  • "We have had the best weeks stay at Solton Manor."

We stayed for the New Year and then celebrated my 60th birthday. It was everything we hoped and more. Our dog Dolly also had the time of her life. When we arrived at the house we could see the lights from the Christmas trees inside and the house looked and was very cozy and warm. We had the best family get together. Thank you

  • "Solton Manor House is beautiful and a great place for a large family to get together."

The initial snags we encountered were sorted promptly and without any fuss. It is a shame there were not enough oven pans for cooking a roast dinner but we improvised and managed. The fridge is not large enough for a house full but luckily the back corridor has some cool nooks. Thank you for providing a separate freezer, that was a nice surprise as was all the hand soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. We bought dishwasher salt and filled up the machine and cleaned the filter. We ran out of hot water one morning and found the nest settings had turned it off. You might want to check that for the next guests. The other items that were lacking were kitchen scissors, silicon spatulas and food tongs. It would have been useful to have had a few plastic plates, dishes and cups for the small children. We broke a wine glass and one of the grey plates but put the door catch back on the small freezer. We could not get the right hand oven to work at all. Thank you to the maintenance man for looking after us. We had a lovely family time together. When there are 16 family plus a few friends that is not easy in many locations. The location was great for many outings without having to go far. We even swam in the sea in October.

  • "We loved our stay so much and so did our guests."

The house was a lot bigger than we had anticipated and everybody loved the games room. It was a shame that the hot tub wasn't working, however, we really appreciated the alternative spa that was rented for us even though it was smaller. The only slight negative that a few of our guests brought up was the amount of flies in their rooms. It was so many that some of the guests thought something may have died in the attic so might be worth a check. Other than that, everything was perfect!

  • "We booked to celebrate a 50th birthday with 9 couples, and if you are looking for a venue that will make you smile and say wow as soon as you pull off the tree lined driveway look no further than Sulton manor."

The photos do not do it justice, from the moment we walked in you are drawn in by the grandeur and scale of the place. The main living room with massive fire place through to the dinning room which can easily seat our group of 18. The kitchen is very nice and although not as big as we had thought, we did manage to do a 9 course tapas with five of us cooking in there. The games room is large and full of all the equipment you could need. The main bedroom is out of a fairy tail, four poster bed on suite bathroom bigger than most family bathrooms. All of the other rooms are exactly as described on the website, but it’s the decor and detail that make it so special. You can really feel the history of the place with its uneven floors, exposed brickwork and beams you can see the owners have tried to keep as many original features on show as possible. The grounds are lovely and can recommend a 30 min walk to the Lantern pub. Karen and her team answered any requests quickly and were not intrusive. The Wifi was excellent and worked everywhere and the heating was great even in a place this big. All in all, we could not fault our stay and have all gone home with the most amazing memories of our stay. Thank you x
