Situated in a picturesque part of Akeld, Northumberland lies Catkin Cottage, a delightful cottage perfect for couples, or a small family.

Offering off-road parking and stunning views over the Cheviot Hills, this property is sure to be an ideal base for exploring both Northumberland and the Scottish Borders.

As you walk through the front door, two steps up take you into the Chinese-slated hallway, before moving into the sitting/dining room to snuggle up and rest your feet before enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal at the oak dining table.

The kitchen covers all the necessities for rustling up some hearty meals to fuel your adventures, including an electric oven and hob and a handy washing machine for your clothes.

As the evening draws to a close retire to one of two bedrooms, both complete with ample storage for your belongings and magnificent views of the Cheviots.

Guests will benefit from a king-size bedroom and a twin bedroom, ideal for friends sharing or a small family.

Completing the interior of the property is a family bathroom fit with a walk-in shower, basin, WC and a bath where you can soak after a long day of walking in this pretty part of Northumberland.

Outside, you will find access to a shared courtyard with furniture for you to take in the fresh air on those balmy summer evenings.

Wooler is a delightful, historic market town on the banks of the River Till, one of the tributaries of the Tweed, nestling in the foothills of the Cheviots which form part of the Pennine Way. Known locally as 'The Gateway to The Cheviots', Wooler has a selection of hotels and eating places and offers a magnificent location for exploring the whole of Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. Situated on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, Wooler is just a short drive away from the historic town of Alnwick with its famous Castle and Gardens, and the well preserved Garrison town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. Chillingham Castle with its ancient herd of wild white cattle and Coldstream, just over the Scottish border, are also a short drive away.

Damage and breakages are the total responsibility of the guests and should be reported to the Management of Akeld prior to departure.
The guest will be responsible/liable for the cost of replacement of any breakages or damage on a like for like basis (replacing with new items) on an indemnity basis. NOTIFICATION immediately of all problems to management is imperative
