  • "We had a lovely long weekend at The Lookout."

Perfect for our stay. Well equipped house, with comfy beds and plenty of en-suites/bathrooms. Amazing walks from the house along the coast. Pubs to eat at within a couple of minutes walk. Owners were great at communicating with us. Couldn't ask for more and would definitely recommend.

  • "This was the perfect property and location for our special birthday get together with friends and family from Australia and all over the UK."

The house is well equipped and spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. There are lovely coastal walks from the property, turn right for a 3.3 mile walk to Craster (and the Jolly Fisherman) or left for a 2.3 mile walk to High Newton by the sea (the Joiners Arms) via Low Newton by the sea (the Ship Inn). From High Newton there is a 2 mile walk back to the house via an inland path. In Embleton itself the Dunstanburgh Castle Hotel is a 2 minute walk, with friendly staff and a restaurant serving delicious food.

  • "Lovely well equipped house with beautiful views of the sea and Dunstanburgh castle."

There is a well stocked farm shop in the village. Nice walk down to the beach and along the coastal path to the castle. Alnwick Castle is nearby and well worth a visit.

  • "The Outlook was excellent in every way."

In our experience rarely do properties live up to the images in the brochures.......this one does. The location is perfect with a 15 minute walk to the beach and within a couple of minutes from three pubs and a superb village store. The house deals very comfortably with a family of twelve and provides space and facilities for all. The views are stunning and we got the weather! Altogether a great stay at The Outlook.

  • "A lovely property with a sea view looking across a couple of fields."

Parking was easy on the road outside the house and the house was comfortable and clean. Embleton village has a shop with post office, a hotel and two pubs. It is accessible to the England coastal path which takes one to Craster and beyond in one direction and Low Newton and beyond in the other.

  • "The Lookout is undoubtedly the best house we have used over the years for annual reunions of a group of former (1960s!"

) Durham University students. The layout of the rooms is excellent and the house is well appointed and comfortable. The view of Dunstanburgh Castle is a bonus! Having a large kitchen space combined with the dining area suited our (mostly) self catering arrangements. The nearby Farm Shop has excellent local produce and there is a good range a local watering holes and eating places. Would we return? Yes we would!

It is a superb house with excellent facilities and plenty of space for a group of friends holidaying together. It has fabulous views from the property and many walks can be started from Embleton. The village has a shop Post Office and places to eat so it is well served. I would definitely recommend The Lookout as a lovely place to spend a holiday. Valerie

  • "What an incredible house!"

The Lookout was the perfect place for our family/ friends group holiday; it had everything. From the large bedrooms and spacious dining and living areas, to the kitchen that included every pot/pan/serving dish/utensil you could possibly need for a large group, it was exceptional. It’s big enough for children to play and have fun in, but still cosy and stylish, and homely for when you want to sit back and relax with a glass of wine when said kids have gone to bed! The location is ideal if you want to wake up to a view of the sea, and be able to walk to a pub (there’s actually three within 5 minutes’ walk away) for drinks and a nice meal. We will absolutely be back.

It is very well equipped and furnished and was perfect for our group of 11 adults over New Year. The large kitchen and dining area is perfect for a large group to cook, eat and chat and there are two living rooms-both very spacious. The house itself is in a perfect location with views to the beach and sea-fantastic sunrises! Would highly recommend this property- would love to go back in the summer-it has great outside spaces.

  • "The property is absolutely stunning."

It's location is possibly the best we have ever had. The views of the castle and coast, access to the beach for walks, proximity to pubs and a village shop are superb. The internal layout of the property, the facilities and styling are all excellent - fantastic for large parties. I left with enormous sadness, having had a simply brilliant week.
