Dog Friendly Beaches in North Cornwall

Everyone and their dog wants to visit Cornwall, and with nearly 300 miles of stunning coastline to explore, it’s not hard to see why. If you feel like treating your four-legged companion to a walk along the shore this year, then you can’t go wrong with a trip to Cornwall. This large, sandy beach is great for dogs who like to use their nose. With numerous rock pools to discover and a large expanse of sand to explore, if there’s any buried treasure to be had on this beach your dog is sure to find it.

Duckpool beach is fantastic for dog walking, as not only can your pet run along the pebbled shore but they can also frolic through the tranquil woodland. Less crowded than the other beaches in the area, Duckpool offers a superb alternative so those looking for a more relaxed atmosphere.

The long rocky beach at Hannafore is ideal for days out with your dog at any time of year, with its grassy banks and benches available for picnicking. The area is very popular for boating, so make sure to pack your doggy lifejacket for trips out to sea.

Mawgan Porth

Mawgan Porth is a very family- and dog-friendly beach, with a number of caves and rock pools dotted about the area. The beach is sheltered by high cliffs on both sides making the soft sand perfect for a game of Frisbee with the pooch.

Owned by the National Trust Sandymouth is one of North Cornwall’s prettiest beaches. With spectacular cliff top views, soft golden sands and its very own waterfall, this beach is ideal for romantic picnics and peaceful afternoons with man’s best friend.

With lots of open space, Seaton is a great escape for dog lovers. Your four-legged friend will have hours of fun running up and down the grey sands as you relax by the shore side with a good book and a traditional Cornish ice-cream.

As Newquay’s most central beach, Towan is perfect for a dog social gathering. This beach boasts golden sands, rock pools, wonderful scenery and with Newquay’s shops and cafes on its doorstep, there is something to suit everyone.
