around the village, adding to the magic of this tranquil little
spot.
Enjoy lazy days just as they should be. A family picnic on the
village green perhaps, or a leisurely walk along the river.
Children will love the stepping stones and keen anglers the superb
fly fishing for salmon and brown trout. Local amenities cater for
holiday requirements, with a Post Office, bakery, pub, tearoom and
garden centre, as well as a choice of churches.
Get out and about! Whichever way you go, the views are
magnificent and the local area offers an excellent selection of
well marked walking, cycling and riding trails, including the
stunning Esk Valley Walk that may be enjoyed in sections and
combined with a trip aboard the Esk Valley Railway.
Alternatively, just do the train and enjoy a daytrip to Whitby,
where you can see and do all kinds of things like fossil hunting
along the beach and eating scrumptious fish and chips! Lealholm is
also close to the attractive fishing villages of Runswick Bay,
Staithes and Sandsend, all well worth a visit during your Lealholm
cottage holiday and the latter home to a spectacular arc of golden
sands, with Whitby Abbey on the horizon.
