The attractive village of Beadnell nestles alongside a sweeping curve of golden sands, with far reaching views towards the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle. The bay is a natural haven for water sports like sailing, windsurfing and scuba diving - the latter especially popular around the Farne Islands just off the coast.
Walking, cycling and bird-watching opportunities are fantastic, whether you choose to track the stunning Heritage Coast along the coastal path, or venture inland to the rolling Cheviot Hills.
Beadnell's history is worth a closer inspection. Step back to the 18th Century down at the harbour with its distinctive lime kilns. Head east to Ebb's Neuk Point and roam around the ruins of a 13th Century chapel. There's even evidence of Bronze Age burial chambers along the shore, a strong indication that Beadnell has probably been inhabited for thousands of years.
Today's Beadnell caters for all your holiday needs, with a local pub and hotel both serving food, as well as a traditional fish & chips shop - always best eaten straight out of paper by the sea. There's also a small grocer's and Post Office.
When it's time for a little exploration, Holy Island, Alnwick, Bamburgh Castle and the Cheviot Hills are just a few of the many places within easy reach of your Beadnell holiday cottage. But don't feel guilty if you keep wandering back to that wonderful beach!
