The Menai Strait is the stretch of water separating the Isle of Anglesey from the Welsh mainland. Often a brilliant blue, these shallow tidal waters are crossed by two bridges, allowing easy access to the attractions of Anglesey and the mainland. The castle and pier at Beaumaris make a lovely day out, or you can catch a boat to enjoy a trip out to Puffin Island. The Anglesey Coastal Path takes in beautiful scenery, and the island is home to many fine beaches including Rhosneigr, Trearddur Bay and Red Wharf Bay. The NT mansion Plas Newydd is on the island, while on the mainland further NT properties can be found including Penrhyn Castle and Bodnant Gardens. The spectacular mountains and lakes of Snowdonia are just a short drive way, with plenty of castles, beaches and other attractions on offer in this wonderful region. The main house on the island is known as Fisherman's Cottage and can sleep a further 10 people, provides all the living accommodation you will need, with a cosy kitchen, an intimate sitting room with a woodburner and a superb dining room seating up to 12 guests. This Menai cottage also has a large awning, creating a covered and heated outdoor seating and dining area big enough for everyone. This leads to a snug room large enough for your party to retire to and while away the evening talking and laughing with friends and family. This Menai cottage offers a large fish trap where, on lucky days, you can capture your evening meal, and rock pools allow you to scoop white bait out by hand for the BBQ! The fish trap also encourages numerous species of wildlife, making this Menai cottage an ideal birdwatchers’ sanctuary. For the water sports enthusiast the island is a paradise, allowing for doorstep kayaking, sailing and powerboats, with a main jetty and a slipway with launching trolley, as well as numerous other access points into the water for fishing, or swimming and snorkeling at slack tide. Numerous companies will also provide all these water sport activities and many more directly from the island, which guests can book themselves. A local restaurant can ferry you ashore during daylight hours for a meal if required, or a chef can be hired to visit the island to cook for you, or just deliver a prepared meal if you would rather. This property is available for short breaks all year round. Short breaks can be booked from Friday to Monday (3 nights) or from Monday to Friday (4 nights) at a cost of £2300.
Full week bookings can only be booked from Friday to Friday.
