Just Show Me High Peak Cottages
Enjoy a relaxing or active break in one of our High Peak holiday cottages, dotted about a sprawling and indeed particularly beautiful part of Britain's first National Park.
First stop, one of the region's main visitor centres at Bakewell, Castleton or Edale to plan what to do during your High Peak cottage stay.
Next, get out and explore! If you're up for the challenge, scale High Tor and take in the views high above Matlock Bath. (The alternative and easier option is to travel by cable car on the Heights of Abraham.) Other top spots for a climb with a view include Kinder Scout and Mam Tor, where the Dark and White Peak meet. Or learn how to climb on Windgather Rocks. If cycling's your thing (or even pushing a pram), head for the High Peak Trail or the Tissington Trail, former railway lines offering family-friendly routes. Otherwise go for an exhilarating spin around the Ladybower Loop, a testing, 28-mile mountain bike track across the Dark Peak.
What else? Find nine prehistoric dancing ladies turned to stone on Stanton Moor. Visit Tideswell Church, the 'Cathedral of the Peak'. Explore the streets of Eyam, the legendary plague village.
