The vibrant maritime city of Plymouth is blessed with a
spectacular natural setting and our Plymouth cottages make the
perfect base for touring the many attractions of south Devon and
south-east Cornwall. That's if you can tear yourself away from
town! Plymouth really is one of a kind.
Take the Historic Bus Tour and trace the steps of Drake, Raleigh
and other distinguished figures as you get to know this
extraordinary seafaring port. Explore the immaculately restored
Elizabethan Barbican, featuring stylish shops and trendy places to
eat and drink in a lovely harbour setting. See the Mayflower Steps
and learn all about the great expedition at the Mayflower
Exhibition.
Take a water taxi across to Mount Batten for fantastic views
over Plymouth Sound, a superb centre for water sports (canoeing,
surfing, diving, sailing etc), as well as more bars and
restaurants. Indeed, Plymouth offers a huge range of dining and
entertainment venues. Amble along the seafront, with its elegant
colonnade, past the Citadel to Plymouth Hoe for more wonderful sea
views. From here it's an easy walk into the city centre for a
little retail therapy.
Other big attractions include the National Marine Aquarium,
Theatre Royal, Plymouth Gin Distillery, Plymouth Pavilions with
ice-rink, swimming pool etc and a large cinema complex.
Add historic houses, gardens, river cruises and an exciting
selection of festivals and events - all kinds of reasons for a
