Kamba Cottage

We had a lovely week at Kamba Cottage.

It was clean, well stocked and comfortable. Our dog settled immediately which is not always the case. The enclosed garden was beneficial for her to explore. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. There was a plentiful supply of sharp knives!! Although the property is semi detached with a neighbouring property behind, there was no intrusion of privacy or noise. It is 10 mins drive to shops in Forfar and easy access to main road for the coast toward Aberdeen or down to Dundee, and 20 mins drive inland to Glen Clova making the location very well suited for exploation. Thank you.

We were absolutely delighted with Kamba Cottage.

The house was cosy and warm for our arrival, spotlessly clean and like home from home. We wanted for nothing and Lynette, our landlady was on hand at all times and was so helpful. We liked it so much we are returning for a much longer stay in January.

The accommodation was ideal.

It was in a great peaceful location but handy to go and visit lots of different areas. The owners were very welcoming and was on hand if we needed anything. They left us a bottle of wine and biscuits as a welcome gift, that was a nice surprise. The cottage had everything we needed. We will definitely return again in the future. Thank you for a lovely break!

This was the most delightful cottage!

Spotlessly clean, beautiful location and very well equipped! It has everything you could possibly need - including a washing line!! So many places boast a washing machine but have nowhere to dry it!! The spiral staircase could prove problematic to anyone with mobility issues or young children but we didn’t have any of those problems! Lynnette was lovely, introducing herself when we arrived and, although we didn’t have any issues, I’m sure if we had, she would have sorted them immediately! The garden was perfect for our dog and it was great being able to leave the doors open so he could go in and out as he pleased! The only downside - we couldn’t get to stay longer! We visit Scotland to see family regularly and we will definitely look no further than Lynnette and her wonderful cottage for every visit, from here on in!!

The property ticked all the right boxes for us !

Would like to return but we are currently booked for another 3 Sykes holidays until Jan 2025.

we would definitely come back to stay again. the host made us feel very welcome on arrival and during our stay. kids felt really safe, plus they enjoy seeing the horses and deer. I recommend Kamba Cottage to anyone who wishes to have a relax and peaceful time in Scotland. we will be back XXX

Owners very friendly and helpful. Well resourced kitchen. Thoroughly recommend. Local town of Kirriemuir also lovely and locals very friendly. Kirriemuir has a fabulous Peter Pan play park that our 9 year old loved.

A very cosy cottage with a lot of space in tranquily surroundings.

The right base for starting trips into the Highlands or for city tours to Edinburgh, Dundee or Aberdeen. The owner is very friendly and helpful. We had two restful weeks there and we will gladly come back again.

Cottage was awesome , lovely grounds

We were extremely disappointed in our cottage on arrival.

The advertisement said that it sleeps 6. Which it has enough beds for 6 and 2 bathrooms, however the sitting area and table does not accommodate a family of 6. The dining area chairs are right in front of the doors to a bedroom and makes it too hard to move, the sitting area barely seats 4, and makes it tight to walk. The cottage had cob webs, the show screen had mold and the outside table was moldy. The cottage was overpriced. At the price advertised, we expected a clean and suitably sized cottage, this was not the case at all. There wasn't even paper towel and we needed to request an extra dish cloth and tea towel. The freezer made a beeping noise if you used it, and one of the stove burners didn't work. The cottage is located on a kennel / working farm and while we were there our room backed onto the area where they were working, you could here dogs barking, people working and machinery from all times during the early morning and day. The pool was nice, however we were not provided with any extra towels. I would not recommend this cottage to anyone.

Lovely rural location and very good base to explore the area but equally good for a lazy day in.

Exceptional care from owner - nothing too much to ask. The swimming pool and hot tub is what makes this cottage though. In the words of our son - I'm SO not looking forward to leaving this place! Highly recommend.

The cottage was lovely and had ample facilities for us, we really enjoyed our stay.

The owners were friendly and approachable and nothing was too much trouble. We made the most of the facilities and enjoyed being in a fairly rural setting, relaxing and having fun.

We booked the cottage for 3 nights over the new year break and this cosy £1500 which I thought on the expensive side - this was definitely the case given the facilities!

The owners are charging high end prices but not delivering high end quality. The beds were really uncomfortable and my husband and I had to sleep separately for the whole 3 nights just to get sleep. It is advertised to sleep 6 but the lay out would only accommodate people with a 3, 1 and 2 due to how beds arranged which is most unlikely. The cottage is tiny with cheap furniture which again was uncomfortable. The pool and hot tub were only available for certain periods and were not great - I think the chemicals were incorrectly applied to be honest. I have to say that if we would have paid half this amount I would not be providing this feedback as you do get what you pay for but on this occasion I felt we didn’t (despite the owner Lynette being lovely and helpful!) I’m afraid we won’t be returning ....

Fantastic cottage holiday.

Was made really welcome on arrival and throughout the week spent in the cottage. Lovely cottage, lovely venue and great sauna, hot tub and pool. The grounds were great for my Damnation to run around and enjoy herself. Would not hesitate in recommending this cottage and venue.
