Great flat, great location, love Largs

We had a superb holiday in this beautiful flat in Largs.

We were comfortable and the location was excellent - just a stones throw from both front for the ferry and town for shops

We had a fantastic stay in MACs Place - there was a very good welcome pack and clear instructions in a folder.

The place was very comfortable and there was everything we could wish for in the apartment. There was good communication with the owner before the stay.

Great location, very quiet and comfortable, with supermarket, train station and ferry port all within a short walking distance Took my wife's sister with us this time and she was very impressed by the accommodation First time we have ever returned to a previous holiday accommodation or location, sure we will be back.

Lovely flat, clean and well appointed.

Beautiful views, from every window, but as we had terrific weather we spent most of our time exploring outside. It was our second visit, and we would happily come again. Short walk to station and seafront with nearby play park for the children.

We enjoyed our week at Mac Place, the location is excellent being near to the town and sea.

The flat was clean and had everything we needed. Largs is a nice town with plenty of restaurants, chips shops and shops for everything else you might need. Frequent ferries cross to the islands and there are a good range of interesting places to visit.

Macs Place is a very comfortable apartment in an ideal location.

After a long journey, we were pleased to receive a most grateful welcome pack of cake and tea on our arrival. The apartment was spotlessly clean, warm and contained everything that we needed for our relaxing break. The apartment is located just a few minutes walk from the Largs promenade, railway station, eating places and shops. We would definitely recommend Macs Place for holiday accommodation.

Second stay in this flat and just as delighted second time around.

Took my bicycle with me this time and was really pleased to be able to lock it up in the adjacent garage on site. Ten out of ten for all facilities, communication and standard of the property. Highly recommended !

This was a lovely place to stay for a week.

The flat is so well cared for and the location is super. Add in the view and the word perfect comes to mind. The owners info was excellent and their communication very pleasant too. Lots to do in the near area too. Would highly recommend.

Overall very happy.

Some repairs required. Main bedroom wardrobe doors need attention. Bathroom fan makes a noise but is otherwise not vey effective. Bathroom radiator doesn't work. Would be good for drying bath towels. Wall heater in bathroom is in good working order but doesn't help with the damp towels. Top drawer in freezer needed to be cleaned as something had been spilled but, apart from that, all clean and well provisioned.

We had a lovely time here, it's a beautiful home.

And so near the esplanade. So near town too. All within walking distance. We even managed to go over on the Ferry to visit Millport. We certainly had the bonus of having beautiful weather, the sun was shining. I would definitely stay here again if I ever come back to Largs. Thanks so much

Very clean and well equipped flat the owner was very friendly and helpful when we had a problem with the tv very easy to talk to.

Flat in a great location near to the station, shops, restaurants and a supermarket. Will definitely be returning.

Macs Place was exactly as described, a real home from home with everything provided that you would need for a relaxing stay.

This was a clean comfortable apartment but by far the best features were the fabulous location and views from kitchen and lounge.

A short walk to the waterfront promenade, shops, train station, Cumbrae ferry and buses, so easy access to everywhere along the Clyde coast and into Glasgow. The apartment itself was well equipped with comfy beds, good towels, plenty of hot water and good cooking equipment and crockery. Externally not the most attractive apartment block in Largs but parking right outside and we enjoyed our week here. Highly recommended.

The heating was electric and did not provide adequate heat during our stay.

The shower had very low pressure and the shower head needed cleaning or replacing.

Great place, close to town and beach.

Everything we needed was there. Perhaps consider an air fryer? Free ferry tickets was nice though not much to see on Cumbrae out of season. Museum and smallest UK cathedral. Great fish and chips at The Fish Works. Lots of eateries around town. Places to visit nearby. Train to Glasgow only takes an hour. Would recommend and would stay here again.

MACS Place would take some beating.

It was perfect in every way. We've stayed in lots of Holiday rentals and the attention to needs and comfort far exceeds all others. If only there was a MACS Place everywhere we want to visit!! Thanks Margot and Alex.

Pleasant and well equipped accommodation situated in great location near to town a couple of minutes from the sea front with lovely walks in both direction.

Good place for touring around the area.Would have no hesitation in recommending to friends and family.

Home from home, clean and tidy and the cake and milk a welcome extra. Great location with good transport links. Good contact with owners regarding keys etc and also kind enough to forward on an item we left behind. Impressed. Hopefully return next year. Ps. Lovely neighbours.

A comfortable, cosy and clean apartment, well equipped and close to the sea and to all the amenities of Largs.

Excellent communication and response from the owner. Great walks in all directions and easy access to public transport to travel up and down the coast or to the islands on the ferries. Would highly recommend Millport, Kelburn Castle and Wemyss Bay station (both for its architecture and book shop). Sunsets throughout the week were wonderful!

It's often said that time doesn't matter on holiday, which may be the reason why two of the wall clocks require new batteries!

Other than than very minor adverse (and admittedly flippant) comment, the flat was immaculate; we would go back in a minute. The information provided by the owners was first class and the two free return tickets for the Cumbrae ferry was a much appreciated gesture.

Excellent accommodation and good to have milk and cake already there when we arrived.

Really well equipped, bright and airy, super clean apartment. Great position for a short walk into town,leave your car in the easy car park space. Quiet and relaxing, very grateful for the milk and cake. Would stay again.

A well appointed, modern, clean and comfortable apartment in a well maintained block close to the town centre.

Partial sea views to the islands. Easy access to the Cumbrae ferry, a good local supermarket and a variety of good restaurants. The owners' kind offer of a trip to Cumbrae was appreciated as was the welcome pack. An excellent base for discovering Ayrshire.

We stayed in this beautiful 1st floor apartment last month in the town of Largs.

The apartment itself was extremely clean, with all the comforts of home and you could tell that the owners had put a lot of thought into what their visitors may need, even leaving tickets for the ferry over to the Isle of Cumbrae, which was a super trip and much appreciated by us. The apartment is only a 2 minute walk onto the front and near by shops. Great holiday with lots to do in Largs and the surrounding area. We will defiantly return in the future.

we had a lovely day out on Cumbrae island courtesy of the owners who collected us and then picked us up later. That was an added bonus to our trip.

Can highly recommend this flat-clean, plenty of space. Took passenger ferry to Cunbrae & got bus to Millport(£3.50 each return). Well worth it. Car didnt move all week. Used bus, train and walked-plenty to see. Thanks for brill stay and ferry tickets and yummy cake. By Christine in may23.

Great location, only 10 minutes walk into Largs along the sea front. Everything was clean and well maintained. The tickets for Great Cumrae were appreciated. Largs has plenty to do and the Ayrshire coast is lovely.

This is an excellent apartment that we found to be clean, comfortable, spacious, well equipped and ideally placed for close access to the promenade, shops, places to eat and ferry to Cumbrae.

Lovely two bed flat with controlled entry a short walk from seafront and 10 mins will see you in centre.

Ideal location for discovering area and islands via ferries . Lots of weather nothing that stopped us getting out and about. Would certainly consider staying again in future .

This is a lovely flat.

Everything you need. The milk and cake were much appreciated. The tv does break up occasionally so we revisited still game on dvd...a must if you haven't seen it. The location is great...few minutes walk to the seafront and just a few more to the centre of largs and if you walk in the other direction you get to the marina which has a nice cafe. We got the train to Glasgow from the station which is only a 10 minute walk from the flat....very easy and stress free...only cost £10.50 return as well.We didn't get to use the free tickets the owners left as it was very windy on the day we planned to go. we really would recommend this property and the area.

Very nice flat with everything we needed.

It's just a short walk from the centre of Largs with it's restaurants, bars & shops etc. Although we didn't use them, tickets for the ferry were also provided (a nice touch). Easy parking too. We enjoyed our stay very much and will return soon.

Location of the property.

Centrally located.

Only downside is Friday to Friday booking - horrendous traffic jams added two hours to each journey.

We had an amazing week at MACS place, this is the best self catering apartment we have ever stayed in, there was nothing you wanted for.

Very clean and comfortable and really was home from home. Just a short walk to the promenade and the most amazing sunsets. Would highly recommend and will definitely visit again for a chilled out and relaxing break.

Great location, couple of minutes to the seafront.

The apartment is spacious, clean and well equipped. We enjoyed watching the birds (including a pheasant) and squirrel at the bird feeder from the lounge window. We had a lovely trip to Great Cumbrae on the free tickets provided. We decided to go on foot and use the bus on Cumbrae even though tickets were included for the car too. In Largs we would recommend Scotts restaurant and Oscars at Brisbane House, fish and chips at The Fishworks and of course, an ice cream sundae at Nardinis. Within easy distance from the apartment there are some great walks including up Castle Hill. For those with children, Kelburn Country Park is worth a visit. Animals, waterfalls, enchanted forest, café.

The flat was more spacious than we imagined and extremely well equipped there were lots of lovely little touches that made the stay feel very spacial and it was spotless (& felt very covid safe).

We were a little concerned as family of four that storage etc might be a problem but the hallway and cupboards were more than ample, and the massive built in wardrobes were excellent (our son enjoyed hiding in them they were so big!) Although there is no outside space it is a stones throw from the prom and the sea so it really didn't matter and great local facilities including supermarket within walking distance. The complimentary trip to the Isle of Cumbrae is a must and such a lovely welcome by the owners - we would highly recommend this property!

Flat was spotless, warm and cosy.

Close to town center and very quiet location. Owners surprised us with a lovely cake and milk. Ideal place to get away from it all. Great walks along the promenade which must be around 5/6 miles long. Largs is a central place to stay with lots of eating places. Buses and trains are frequent as are the ferry's that take you to Isle of Cumbrae, Isle of Bute, Dunoon and Arran. Glasgow is a short drive away. What more could you ask for in a break away.

MACS Place is in quiet location but convenient to the town and the train station.

In the evening,it was lovely seeing the sea and the twinkling lights (from the shortcut to the prom). The apartment was clean and tidy and the owners had made sure that there was milk, bread etc to set us up for our stay. Train links from Largs to Glasgow good and a good base for touring.

Close to shops and attractions. Lovely to find milk in fridge ready for cup of tea with a piece of lovely cake provided after our journey. Nice to have ferry tickets.Owners said they would have given lift but was such a lovely day we decided to walk around island. Lovely place to stay and visit.

The owners went above & beyond expectations, sent us info re key collection etc before I got round to asking, gave us a free trip over to the Isle of Cumbrae, met us over there & took us on a tour of the island, took us back for the ferry when we called them to say we’d had enough time to explore the island, nothing was too much trouble, their kindness made our holiday extra special.

The apartment has everything you could need & more, they even left a welcome fruit cake & milk for our arrival. Beautifully furnished & an excellent location. Will definitely be recommending to friends & family.

This apartment was a lovely.

It was home from home. It was within easy reach of the beach and town centre. The trip to Cumbrae was a lovely bonus and Alex was very a very informative guide. Nice little touches were milk, teabags and a cake was very welcome after a long drive. Would recommend this apartment and will definitely be back. Thank you.

The flat is secure, quiet and very peaceful.

It has excellent access to Largs seafront, ferry terminal and high street. Facilities indoors are good. Large shower cubicle and the beds are comfy. It would really benefit from the addition of a dishwasher but the kitchen area overall has everything you need. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this holiday let.

There was nothing missing it was and felt like a home not just a holiday property.

Flat was lovely and its location would be hard to beat.

Single beds were a bit narrow, but apart from that everything was superb ! Largs is a beautiful seaside resort on the Firth of Clyde and perfect for island hopping on the scheduled ferries (from Largs, Ardrossan and Wemyss Bay) including the SS Waverly which calls at Largs in the summer season on its way to the Isle of Bute, the Cowl Peninsula, the Mull of Kintyre and Arran. Largs is technically in the Highlands because mountains can be found on both sides of the Firth of Clyde. The Brisbane Glen road to Greenock is well worth a visit. There are outstanding views of the Firth of Clyde from the communication towers above Loch Thom in the Muirsheil Hills. The best restaurant in Largs is in the Haylie Hotel (two minutes drive south on the road to Fairlie). The dining room and lounge have fabulous views over the Firth of Clyde and the Arran Mountains. The food is superb !

This was a beautiful apartment, very well presented, clean and spacious.

It has everything you could want and need when staying away from home. We stayed with two young children and would recommend it for young families. There’s just no bath so we had to sit our baby in the bottom of the shower ( she loved it so that is not a complaint) so would say bring something to bath a baby in. A high chair and cot were provided, also little thinks like rolls and milk which was a life saver after a long journey. It’s in a fantastic location, a stones throw away from the sea front. Has a great local park and green space to play with a ball. Local trips to Kelburn Castle great for children and over to Millport on the ferry ( tickets included because we stayed for 7 days) to the beach and bike riding. Would Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.
