A charming bungalow with fantastic views over Loch Linnhe, situated in the village of Ardgour near Fort William.

A delightful property, decorated and furnished tastefully throughout, this bungalow would be ideal for either a group of friends, family or couple wanting a pleasant base from which to experience the beauty of the Scottish Highlands.

Step through the front door into this lovely property, on your left you will find two pleasing bedrooms; one twin and one double, both featuring a neutral décor, accented with shades of blue.

Along the hallway is the modern family bathroom, an elegant affair with simple white tiles and wooden panelling.

The open-plan living area is spacious yet retains a cosy feel with two comfortable sofas arranged around a warming wood burning stove.

At one side of the room is the fully appointed kitchen, the perfect blend of contemporary and classic, with modern appliances mixed with traditional features such as a Belfast sink.

At the other side of the room is the dining space with the table sat under a large window offering far reaching views over the majestic Loch Linnhe and Fort William in the distance.

Outside the property there are enclosed gardens to the front and back, both with lawn areas.

The property is situated in the small village of Ardgour, a popular destination for walkers, climbers and general lovers of the great outdoors thanks to its location at the beginning of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula.

It is possible to board a ferry across Loch Linnhe to reach the town of Fort William with its shops and eateries.

This property is the perfect base for friends, families or a couple wanting to spend some time in the tranquil Scottish Highlands.

Mary's cottage is beautiful, we have been before and it still as magical as the first time.

Very clean and tidy, beds are very comfortable. Great log burner for colder days. It has everything you need. Very close to a pub and a ten minute walk to micro brewery that does great pizza. Nothing wrong with Mary's cottage or where it is, but the only thing I would say is the on going works for the new ferry is very noisy and in front of the cottage. I do think that people need to know and be shown plans as it's right in front of the cottage.

The property is in a great location, easy to get to and enjoyed using the ferry On a daily basis , we bought a book of tickets which cost just under £100 to cover the cost of ferry use for the week which worked out cheaper than paying daily.

You can drive the long way round which doesn’t cost anything. The actual cottage is very traditional looking and clean and tidy from the outside side , upon arrival the key was easily accessible from the key lock at the door ,on entering the cottage the inside smelt extremely fusky with a strong smell of bleach , the windows had been left open I am assuming to help clear the smell , the interior is nice enough allthough it really does look like it’s not been touched for several years and could do with a total revamp , the kitchen area is very tired with poorly fitting cupboard doors on the fridge & freezer, it was clean in the most part but definitely not spotless , milk stains in the fridge , some of the cutlery and plates were greasy so we did wipe everything down before using, the sofas are very worn and not overly comfy , and things just had a feeling of “That’l do “ with its miss mash of furniture and kitchen utensils , the two single beds I am told were comfy , but the room didn’t have a wardrobe for hanging clothes , they had to be hung in the cupboard in the hall way with the iron board and sweeping brush , there was a small set of draws and a chair also in the room and a tiny mirror in the wall , the double bedroom overlooked the back garden which was nice to watch the birds , the room is light with an inbuilt wardrobe , a very old chest of draws with shabby bits of paper used for draw liners in the bottom , bed side tables and the most uncomfortable bed we have ever slept in , I actually thought there was a sheet of wood under the covers is was so hard ! Again everything in the double room felt like it had been purchased from a second hand shop with a That’l do feel to it nothing really matched. Lastly and this has no reflection on the owners at all but it is worth mentioning at this present time and until around September 2027 ( hubby asked the workmen) there is a new ferry terminal being built right out side the front of the property so it was like staying on a building site with work starting at around 6 /6.30 am every morning until 7/8pm at night . And not quiet building work either , the kind that involves huge Crain , and pilling massive sheets of metal into the loch bed ( the whole cottage vibrates ) So allthough the veiws in the distance are stunning you have to look past the high vis workers , Crain , and rubble and steal structures that are being erected. Also worth a mention is there is a silver stream style food van that was open some of the mornings while we stayed which is a stones throw down the road that made a smashing breakfast bun , and the sandwiches and cakes looks fabulous and is definitely worth a visit if it’s open. We had a lovely week walking and visiting the area and would return to that’s part of Scotland , but unfortunately not to Mary’s cottage , it just didn’t live up to expectations I am afraid .

Mary’s cottage was spotless and even the smallest thing in the kitchen was catered for.

Beds are comfortable . Loved the little extras like the Highland soap company hand soaps and the wee dram! Beautiful location looking down Loch Linnie. There are some lovely walks around as mentioned in the information book. I would highly recommend!
