A wonderful location with so many beautiful and interesting border towns on the doorstep.

We absolutely loved our holiday at East Lodge.

It was exactly the peaceful location we were looking for, so quiet, out of the way but with easy access to mountain biking and hikes. Eleanor and Adam were so kind and helpful too, and they have stocked the cottage with everything you need—lots of dishwasher tabs, tea towels, toilet paper, etc, so we didn’t have to go out and replenish those things like we usually do. The bike storage was great too—the lockable container they have could contain 4 of our mountain bikes, and the porch was secure enough that we felt happy to leave 2 of them there. The house is beautiful and was so clean. Having en-suites in every bedroom was so nice to have with the family as well. We would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a family friendly location that is comfortable, peaceful and quiet. We’d love to come again!

It is in a beautiful place and surrounding areas also. The cottage is fantastic, clean comfortable and the showers were the best we have come across, The family running the estate are really friendly but not intrusive and they've spent a lot of time making the estate as it is today, it's been a fantastic holiday

The cottage is clean, comfortable and nicely decorated throughout. It is well equipped to a good standard. The owners, who are nearby, are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for a lovely, peaceful break.

It was well equipped with everything you would need. There was plentiful hot water and every bedroom was en-suite. Extra-special finishing touches included a home-made cake, fresh flowers and the wood-burning stove ready laid. I would definitely stay here again if I returned to the area which says it all really!

Perfect for a biking weekend with family.

We stayed last week at this cottage.

It’s in a very quiet position away from any main roads. The cottage is beautifully set out inside with an entrance that is roomy for removing boots and jackets etc. this leads to a downstairs toilet and then into the kitchen and lounge. The lounge has plenty of seating and a coffee table and one higher armchair for those who might need it. It has a woodburner which is really cosy on cold nights. There is central heating throughout though. A door off the lounge leads to a conservatory which is furnished nicely and has blinds for the windows. The kitchen is well equipped with an excellent cooker with oven as good as my home one, it has a microwave too and dishwasher. Enough work surface and a toaster. There are stools one end to sit up to at a breakfast bar. The dining room is spacious and has a large table and chairs and a dresser and houses the fridge freezer and washing machine and smith kitchen unit. All rooms have a tv in them with a remote including all the bedrooms. These are smart TVs. The WiFi was good and the router was situated in the cottage. A door from the dinning room leads to a bedroom with double bed, dressing table, bedside tables and door to hanging cupboard. There is a en-suite bathroom with shower unit, basin and toilet. A door off the lounge leads to the front door and staircase. This leads to three rooms up stairs two of which are in one space without an adjoining door, these have double bed in which can be two singles. Both main rooms have en-suite bathrooms. A nice surprise was fresh flowers in the cottage and some rather wonderful biscuits. There was a good information folder and the help number was very useful in explaining how to connect to the internet. There are lovely walks nearby and along down by the river. To the side is a garden and bench to sit out on. At the back there was plenty of space for several cars to park. Plus a picnic bench. The surrounding scenery is stunning and places of interest to visit such as Melrose Abbey, a printing museum and Roman museum and tapestry plus national trust places. At Peebles there were good places to eat. Shopping was best at Galashiels where are many big shops including Asda, Tesco, Matalan and Currys plus next. I would really recommend this cottage to stay at and I hope to visit again sometime.

The Lodge was Cosy warm when we arrived on a very cold grey day.

Well equipped kitchen and overall the lodge was comfortable. Good communication from owners. Look forward to our next stay.

It was very well equipped. It was especially good for our elderly dog who enjoyed the estate for leisurely walks. We appreciated the emails about access to the property. The grandchildren loved the Christmas tree

East Lodge is a delightful holiday cottage.

It is well equipped, spacious and comfortable. The position in the grounds of Elibank House is beautiful, with wooded walks and a delightful walk along the banks of the Tweed, perfect for dogs. Floors Castle and Peebles are within easy reach and well worth visiting, Our hosts were friendly and helpful. We could not have wished for a nicer stay and certainly hope to go again.

Fantastic stay in a beautiful part of the country.

Absolutely ideal for us . Lovely cottage, clean, comfortable with plenty of space for the 5 of us and 2 dogs. Peaceful settings away from it all but close enough amenities which were just a short drive away. Ideal base to go end explore further afield. Lovely neighbours in adjoining cottage. Owners were very welcoming. Our grand daughter loved meeting Adam along with his dogs and being allowed to visit and feed his sheep . We all had a very happy and memorable stay and will be looking for a return next year.

Had the most amazing week in East Lodge.

House is beautiful, well equipped and the surrounding countryside is simply stunning! the owners were away but we were left in good hands with Al who always checked in if he saw us walking the dogs. We are already planning a trip back next year!

The property is spacious, warm and comfortable. We had everything we needed and the location is ideal for walking and running with lots of good routes close by. The children loved feeding the sheep. You made us feel better welcome. Only thing to improve would be a new bread knife, but that's being super picky.

This was our second visit to East Lodge.

It's a fabulous house which can accommodate the whole family and the dogs. It's very clean and has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The grounds are a huge added bonus, you have lovely walks and super views, all from your doorstep! We met the owners who live close by and were reassured they were there if we needed anything. We look forward to a return visit in the future.

The cottage itself is extremely well kept and clean . This is the 3rd time we’ve stayed here which I suppose says it all . The owners are amazing friendly hosts. Can’t find fault. Highly recommend

Lovely, comfortable and clean cottage.

Perfect for our family stay of six. Two grandparents and two kids (8 and 11) and the dog. Great walks straight from cottage and accessible, quick drive to shops etc. my only recommendation would be a visitor book at the cottage as this can be a useful way of finding out recommendations for things to do, places to eat etc. Also, remember to check your dog (and you)for ticks there were loads!

First impression was great and that continued throughout our stay.

Warm, comfortable, clean, well equipped…you name it. Quiet except for birdsong which is exactly what we were looking for. Well maintained grounds and if you managed to arrive at the same time as the bluebells you are in for a treat. We enjoyed our visit and would really like a return visit

Our second stay at East Lodge, we enjoyed it just as much as last time.

Comfortable beds, good layout, the three ensuites are brilliant. It is in such a good position to explore the Borders. We visited Melrose, Peebles, Kelso and North Berwick. We enjoyed the Great Tapestry of Scotland, but my sister and I are both crafters, so It`s probably not everyones cup of tea. My great niece, who is 2, enjojed feeding the sheep and stroking the dogs.

Lovely well located cottage, perfect for a group of 5, every room has an en suite as well as a downstairs toilet, we were a group of 5 lads mountain biking in the area and the house had everything we needed, was a 10-20 minute drive from Innerleithen and Glentress trails.

A beautiful, quaint cottage. The wood burning stove was a real bonus during our snowy stay. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The property was lovely.

On a private estate and within walking distance of the river Tweed. There are ruins of a castle on the estate which we loved walking to. Lots of walks just from the door and Galashiels and Peebles half an hour drive away. The property was great, all en-suite, loads of hot water and lovely, powerful showers. The lay out of the lodge was great for our party. The only slight downside were the beds which we found a bit uncomfortable, but that is only a slight niggle and may have been just due to us getting a bit older! The big house also offers B&B and an additional apartment, which would be great if travelling as a larger party. I would love to go back to this holiday property & have already recommended it to a couple of my friends.

Beautiful, spacious lodge which was perfect for our family break.

The immediate surroundings are stunning and we loved all the walks from our doorstep. Lots of great places nearby to visit for the day.

East Lodge is a cosy, comfortable cottage set in fantastic grounds.

It is in a quiet and picturesque setting, an ideal base for walks and local places to visit. We especially enjoyed Abbotsford, Dawyck Botanic gardens and the Great Scottish tapestry in Gallashiels. Great food and welcome at the Traquair Arms. We would highly recommend East Lodge and hope to return.

A nice cosy cottage in a wonderful environment.

The cottage is set amongst beautiful surroundings on the National Cycle Route.

..a narrow road with passing places. All rooms are nicely decorated and cleaning is thorough. The beds are wonderful! Unfortunately there are health and safety issues which were discussed with the owners. The hazards first became apparent when we had been in the property less than 90 minutes. In the ground floor bedroom there is a deep step found when opening the door to hang clothes on the rail..this step was not apparent as there were no warning notices to suggest that it could be an issue. As the room could be used by someone already having mobility issues a false floor would be a useful addition to bring the level of the flooring up. As one of my party fell and knocked her shoulder and arm on the shelving opposite the door we had to administer first aid. The cut on her arm was quite deep and this might have needed stitches...there were no emergency numbers evident in the cottage in fact no advice of any sort and no guest book. The owner suggested the Borders Hospital but we did not have any directions on how to get there. No sooner had we spoken to the owner concerning the deep step when we had to contact him again regarding the wood burning stove. This was a second hazard and became worse than the first when the carbon monoxide alarm was set off due to the increased amount of smoke that was seeping from the door on the stove. The outcome was we were unable to use the stove at all as a chimney sweep could not come until the day we were due to leave. The seal on the stove door was hardly visible and the cottage continue to smell of smoke until the day we left despite windows being left open as much as we could. Anyone suffering from asthma would have been unable to stay for the week due to the atmosphere and I feel as so many cottages now state that wood burning stoves are one of the features to be enjoyed there must be stricter controls and inspections to ensure their safety. Hopefully the woodburning stove can be used again when maintenance work has been carried out and the level of the cupboard floor raised so there are no further accidents.

The cottage had everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Some lovely walks, but unfortunately the Scottish weather was unkind that week, but it did not stop us going out for walks, which would be amazing in the better weather. All in all a lovely week away

Lovely cottage in a great location.

Perfect for a larger group with dogs, age ranges from 75-14 yrs. Lots of walks around the cottage. Very friendly helpful owners. We would love to return in the future. Great location for visiting surrounding towns. Lots of do very locally. Easy access to Peebles, Gala RUFC, Go Ape Treetop challenge, Traquair House.

The best cottage we have ever been to, thank you so much for a brilliant little holiday.

The cottage itself is huge, very clean and peaceful, a place you can really relax. Didn’t realise when I booked it that it is on a massive private estate you’re welcome to explore, the owner even very generously offered us the use of his ebikes. Plenty of walking and biking routes straight from the cottage, even more just a short drive away, location is perfect. You are close enough to the shops/towns should you need anything. Kitchen is very well equipped, even has a dishwasher and washing machine. Cannot think of a single bad thing about this place, we fell in love with it on day one and will definitely be back

It was a pleasure to stay in this lovely cottage.

Everything we could need was provided. The bed we used was comfortable and it was easy to keep the dogs out of the bedrooms. The surrounding estate is stunningly beautiful, you can be down at the river easily and quickly. The cafe nearby is friendly and clean with lovely baking. We will certainly book this house again.

The instant & ample hot water was particularly appreciated! very well equipped. One additional thing we would have found useful was kitchen weighing scales.

A first rate stay in a beautiful cottage by the River Tweed.

If anything it is undersold. The grounds of the Country Estate are wonderful and. Five minute walk through the grounds and you are on the river bank. The cottage has three en-suite showers/ baths and are of good double size proportions. An excellent kitchen which is well equipped, although the addition of a steamer would be useful. Very comfortable lounge and conservatory. The Lane by the house is of no bother. Very good parking for three cars behind the house and by closing the wooden gate makes it secure for dogs and children. Plenty of wild life in the juxtaposed woodlands. The owners offered us the use of two electric bikes. All the people we had contact with were friendly, smiley and genuinely nice folk. The owls at night added to the ambience. Lots of places to visit and we had a day in Edinburgh going by train from Tweedsdale. Lots of towns and villages to visit. The river Tweed was captivating and walks along its banks with the lambs and bird life was truly captivating. We holiday in Scotland at least three times a year. This was a superb experience and we all agreed, our party of five, that we will revisit again. The week was quite superb

What a beautiful house.

There was plenty of comfortable seating, a spacious dining room and a well equiped kitchen. The bedrooms were ideal for our family group, with great shower/bathrooms for each bedroom. The surrounding grounds were picturesque, with lovely walks around and about. The walk to the river was especially lovely.

We enjoyed our stay at East Lodge very much.

The owners told us that the area is usually very much better but storm Arwen had caused lots of damage, but this was our first visit and it was still beautiful. The cottage itself is wonderful with plenty of room and everything you could need with the added bonus that you could call the very helpful owner for anything you might require. Being mid December it was very cold for the first couple of nights but the log burner took care of that ! The cottage is secluded but a short drive along a single track road will bring you to Walkerburn with another few minutes to Innerleithen with it's shops, cafe's and takeaways should you need them. At the cottage you are free to walk the grounds with just a short distance to the river Tweed, if you enjoy fishing, this is the place for you!! A lovely cottage in a lovely area, highly recommended :-)

Great location, great stay.

We stopped at East Lodge while visiting family in Scotland. Pre-arrival we were sent details of what was there, how to get there and how to park. On arrival the Lodge was very clean, tidy and spacious. It has everything you could need and then some. Location wise it feels secluded but you can be in Innerleithen within minutes where there are shops and places to eat. We will definitely be back.

East Lodge is in beautiful surroundings and close to the Tweed.

There are a variety of walks from the house which were enjoyed by our two Westie. The owners live close by and were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend a visit to Galashields to see the Great Tapestry of Scotland, it is beautiful and certainly worth a visit.

Very comfortable stay.

Everything you need provided. The owners sent a very helpful email about what was provided beforehand. Lovely location off the beaten track. Very quiet, lovely grounds. Lots of walking on the doorstep, including riverside walks. Lots of wildlife. The road in is single track with passing places, and we rarely met anything, so not a problem. Easy reach to Edinburgh, Kelso, Peebles etc. Our only criticisms, and they are minor, is we found the pillows a bit hard, and for a cottage which would accommodate 7, a 4 slice toaster would be better, but not a deal breaker! Would happily stay here again.

Seeing wildlife. Wonderful hosts that were happy to help make our holiday the best. Advice about cycle tracks , car routes, places to visit just time to chat which my husband and I always love. We weren't however expecting the kitchen to be as small as it was. The photo on your website is quite misleading. We found it very narrow and difficult for more than one person to be in at a time. We knew there would not be a dishwasher but feel it would be very useful given the lack of space. We are a family that loves to cook so were disappointed with this. The cottage is in a lovely setting though and we very much enjoyed lots of great walks both in and beyond the estate.

It is warm and cosy, especially with the log burner on. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, as are the en suites. The owners are friendly and obliging, and the date slices on arrival were delicious! We definitely hope to return.

From the moment to arrived to our leaving it was wonderful.

I really can't think of any bad points. The cottage was clean warm and very well appointed. Ideal if you have a dog some lovely walks on your door step. Close to small village but not within walking distance about 3 miles. Galashiels and Peebles equal distance if you want more shops. We actually didn't venture further than the walks with the dog. Excellent wi fi. Will return beautiful setting

Very nicely presented with attention to detail and good quality fixtures and fittings.

The central heating very capable - we were turning radiator stats down for the first few days. En-suite bathrooms for each room was a luxury and a ground floor room made it suitable for the elderly. We enjoyed the location on the Elibank Estate. Excellent traditional shops as well as Coop in Innerleithen

Showers were slippy mats needed.

Would of been nice if there was a place for the dogs to run free. Everything else was lovely.

The road the house is on looks as though it might be difficult driving on the map,but it isn't,and it's also very quiet.A lot of beautiful walks nearby,even just within the Estate.The owners are really friendly and helpful.

Beautiful cottage in a sublime setting.

We had such a wonderful and relaxing holiday. I would definitely return to this part of Scotland and to this cottage. It is quite a bit further from the village than we expected which wasn’t a problem for us but anyone hoping to walk to the local store might be disappointed. Great area for walkers and cyclists and a bit off the usual Scottish tourist trail so the roads etc. were not that busy.

No dishwasher, it would be more useful than a washing machine.

The cottage is located in amazing woodlands but not far from other small towns .

The scenery is beautiful and it's surrounded by hills and a stream of running water nearby.

Accommodation was excellent in rural woodland surroundings.

The owners were very friendly and went out of their way to give helpful information. It was delightful to see and hear the pheasants

East Lodge at Elibank House Estate was an absolute pleasure.

It is a perfect location for a getaway without being too isolated that you have to pack the kitchen sink to take with you. Plenty of shops and options close by but the Lodge itself is set in some beautiful grounds with nice walks and scenery as soon you step out the door. The owner was a pleasure to deal with, I'm sure my group and I will be booking again.

The East lodge was beautiful, the lodge itself was lovely and clean.

It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. There were 6 adults a baby and a dog and there was plenty of space for us all. The Elibank estate was lovely to walk round even in the wintery weather we had a great time. There's also a short drive to get to the local towns to have a trip out. We will be going back again as we had a great time.

East Lodge was a wonderful experience .

The cottage was of a very high standard with welcoming owners . The setting was amazing , nestling in forest with widlife all around . Although we were unable to take advantage of the walking surrounding the cottage it is an outstanding feature that will appeal to country lovers and families looking for something different . It is well situated to explore the Borders and the rich history of the area . We would recommend it highly .

This cottage is set in a beautiful forrest and has everything you need and more for a great holiday.

Beautiful location.

Lots of gorgeous walks with the dog and, thanks to the perfect seasonal weather, sledging for kids. The surrounding forest brought birds, pheasants, grouse etc., to the garden. The owners were welcoming and couldn’t have been more helpful and pleasant. The house was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The wood burning stove added to the cosy atmosphere at this time of year. The number of lovely bathrooms was a real bonus. Nearby Peebles was a lovely town to spend a day. And a train trip to Edinburgh for Hogmanay was the real icing on the festive cake. A perfect new year holiday.
