We found the accommodation very comfortable and suitable for our needs.

It was in a very quiet area. Parking was easy and the welcome pack was very generous. It was lovely and warm when we arrived too. We enjoyed our stay.

This is a lovely, well equipped little hideaway for couples and is well located for access to Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.

Property was clean and well maintained. Bed was comfortable and parking although a little tight, wasn't really an issue as described by some reviewers. We would definitely use it again if coming to this area.

This is my possibly 5th visit and as always was fabulous

Place was very clean and perfect for 2 people staying.

All the little touches to make it welcoming was a lovely surprise. Looking forward to next year to see if available. Would definitely stay again.

Very clean and tidy with well equipped kitchen we have a great stay the bungalow was warm and cosy from the first night with a comfortable bed with all the shops and restaurants close by .

Your village retreat was absolutely first rate It is one of the best holiday let's we have stayed in.

A well maintained and clean property in a quiet area of Littleport which is ideal for visiting the city of Ely

The property was clean and well equipped.

Extremely comfortable bed and pillows. Good water pressure for the shower. Owner left tea/coffee, milk, croissants, cake and wine which was a lovely touch. Very quiet Locals friendly Ideal base for exploring Cambridge, Ely and train to London from the station about 15 mins walk. Plenty of take aways Swan nice place to eat and lovely setting Two Co-op stores and smaller convenience stores The only negative would be that Littleport is not a pretty town and the property was in an area that looked a bit scruffy . I wouldn’t let it put me off staying again as the property was ideal base for exploring.

The accommodation was very good everything we needed, very clean and comfortable.

It was the perfect base for exploring the wider area. We had a great 4 night break, visiting NT Wimpole Estate and Anglesey Abbey, Ely and Cambridge. The only downside is the adjacent buildings looking run down and a bit intimidating to some.

Yet again an excellent stay at what is feeling like my 2nd home.

It really is just perfect for my visits home and my friends and family who see me there also love it too. Everything about Village Retreat works...size, amenities, position in the village..everything! I know i will be back at sometime again soon.

We were so pleased with our selection.

We were concerned before our arrival that the unusually hot weather would impact adversely on a small bungalow but the care which had been taken to block the light meant that we were more comfortable and slept better than at home. Everything was clean and comfortable. The welcome pack very welcome. The location was ideal for visits to local attractions. Thank you

Village Retreat is a beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean bungalow for two people.

We had everything we needed including a lovely welcome pack waiting for us. The weather was fantastic and we had a great time visiting places in the fens. We would definitely recommend a holiday at Village Retreat.

Amazing!

! This is my 3rd stay and first in colder months. So cosy, heating was just right. Always feel safe here as I'm usually on my own. It's a perfect base for me to catch up with friends and family. I hope that I will have many more stays here in the future. Thanks Emma

The Bungalow is great everything you need very clean and well decorated plenty of places to go Ely is nearby and plenty of places to go fishing we will stay again

Village Retreat was all that we hoped it would be for a short stay.

Tucked away in a quiet corner, it was clean and well presented. The ‘Welcome Pack’ of assorted teas, coffees etc., milk, croissants, cake and wine, was much appreciated. All kitchen equipment that might be needed was to hand. After contacting the owner, the one problem we did find was dealt with promptly. The property was well situated for visiting Ely and surrounding area, with a comfy bed for a good night’s sleep. Can recommend Rumbles Fish and Chip shop a couple of minutes walk from the property and a fifteen minute walk down Main Street to The Swan on the River. Altogether a good property for an enjoyable short stay.

A spotlessly clean, well-equipped and comfortable property which gives easy access to lots of tourist destinations such as Ely, Cambridge and various National Trust properties.

The welcome pack was indeed very welcome and the care taken by the owner to have everything just right for his visitors was clear to see. Thank you for a most enjoyable stay.

Great place to stay , will be back

It’s ideally situated for visiting Cambridge,Ely and the scenic little villages.

Thank the owner for the wine cake and starter pack very much appreciated. parking is a little tight but on the whole it’s great for a small break thank you .

Excellent presentation, cleanliness, location & property owner's instruction booklet inside.

More lighting needed for technical work in the lounge area. Good lights elsewhere. A message to Sykes: tell customers that you access the property through an arch - could be a problem if you carried bicycles on the car roof (I do for summer holidays).

Nice cottage, very quiet but good place for visiting attractions.

Lovely welcome pack. Could do with better lighting in lounge as hard to see if both of you want to read at night. Also found parking a bit tight and our car isn't very large. However we enjoyed our stay and would book again if in the area.

The bungalow was a cosy and comfortable place to stay while visiting family at Christmas.

Marvelous owners and marvelous place to stay.

Perfect village retreat for a short stay to visit Ely and for farther afield.

Very considerate owners sent information in advance and provided welcoming goodies. Being able to sit outside after touring was a bonus and the property had all that two would need for a short break. We were particularly impressed with the bathroom and excellent showering facilities. Thank you to the owners; we enjoyed our stay.

The accommodation was lovely, clean and well kitted out.

A couple of things: - Dryer function on the washing machine didn't work - Overflow on the bath leaks

All ground floor, well equipped and with a dedicated parking space. Close to the local shop and take away too. We enjoyed it very much.

This was a really cute little home in an ideal location for central Littleport and surrounding areas.

The home was really well stocked and we truly enjoyed our stay.

Great location, can walk to shops and pubs. Bed was soft, might work for some, but we felt like we would roll off. We felt very welcome and enjoyed the complementary wine, milk and sweets.

Village retreat was a lovely clean, warm well equipped bungalow.

I personally would have liked a curtain at the front door and a folder of places to visit and local food menus,this is in no way detrimental to the bungalow I'm just not internet savvy . The welcome gifts were amazing ( wine, cake, croissants milk and a tray of teas and coffee etc) had a lovely stay in the bungalow and would recommend, five stars thank you.

I'm afraid our stay at this property was marred, due to a particularly uncomfortable bed which gave no support at all.

We noted from the 'guest book' that others have made similar complaints about the mattress, seemingly, without effect.

Wonderful place to stay, cant fault it at all but would echo a previous comment, it isnt for the elderly or infirm with low furniture and high sided bath to climb into, however, that is down to us, not the property.

Execellent accommodation, everything we could need provided.

Ideal location to access the areas towns and countryside and useful having two co op stores nearby plus a good fish and chip shop.

The cottage had everything we needed for our stay.

The mattress was way too soft for our liking and the seating was a bit too low for us as we are elderly, however it did not spoil our stay.

The property was very clean, comfortable and well equipped, it was lovely and warm, excellent for our winter stay.

It is very quite and the bed is comfortable. We also appreciated the welcome pack. The bungalow is close to the local high street, which is handy. Unfortunately the immediate area is a bit run down and you are overlooked. But, that was not a problem.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Village Retreat, Littleport.

We found the property to be exceptionally clean, comfortable, and with everything we wanted for a week's stay in Cambridgeshire. The property is in a quiet setting with car parking, and Littleport proved to be a great base for exploring this lovely area both by car and also by train (with the station just a 15 minute walk away). The welcome gifts were much appreciated, and everything ran like clockwork with great communications and clear instructions from the owner. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend anyone to stay at this lovely property.

An excellent well laid out cottage with all the facilities, will probably go back next year.

The bed was the only thing that was a problem the mattress was just to soft otherwise the accommodation was lovely.

Village Retreat was home from home.

Comfortable and had everything you needed for a relaxing time away from working life. Central to many days out as long as you have a car. Would definitely stay there again. There were refreshments left there for me and my daughter when we arrived and the owner emailed me a week before to say hi and give us important info. Lovely n clean too. Great place to stay.

A good base for exploring the area

The property was well located just 3 mins walk to the High Street.

We wanted a relaxed few days away and this was perfect. The TV is huge/3D and we cooked for ourselves, binge watched TV and generally relaxed. Everything is clean and comfortable. We visited Ely on one day which is lovely and about 20 mins drive. On our last night we walked round to a local tapas restaurant (Habis) that is very simple but excellent quality and super friendly service - I highly recommend it and we stopped off for a great English breakfast there on leaving day as well. Thanks very much for a simple but great break.

... not very comfortable. Bed very comfortable Had problems with heating, but owner sorted that out by supplying fan heaters. Owner supplied wine cake and lots of goodies ... much appreciated gesture Thank You

Second time at the Village Retreat and not disappointed.

Cake, wine, fruit, croissants all very welcome. Littleport is so convenient for Cambridge, Ely, Downham Market and Kings Lynn and has all the local amenities you could need within walking distance of the Retreat. Highly recommended.

We loved the Village Retreat.

So comfortable and stylish. Close to Ely and Cambridge with so much to see and do. All amenities on your doorstep. We loved Littleport and will definitely be returning soon.

The bungalow was modernly equipped, spotlessly clean and very warm and cosy.

This accommodation was very clean and well equipped, the only things we found were missing was egg cups and a chopping board but apart from that excellent. You also get cake, wine etc etc on arrival which was very thoughtful. Thank you
