Great lodge, beautiful kept grounds.

Lovely fishing lake and just behind the lodge was the river could not have been better for fishermen and families. Nothing was too much trouble for the owner who was brilliant. We would recommend kingfisher lodge to anyone and in fact we intend to go back next year.

Immaculate and well set out, but the mattresses and pillows were really hard, so didn't sleep well.

A comfortable, clean lodge sited in a quiet location.

The lodge had everything we needed during our stay, including fast, reliable internet access. Every bedroom had a comfortable double bed, plenty of storage and a TV. The main bedroom had a lovely ensuite with a walk-in shower, which was fabulous! The kitchen was well appointed, with a large fridge/freezer, a dish washer and microwave. The furnishings were really comfortable and the lodge had central heating for the cooler mornings. The owner had even supplied dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and a two pint semi-skimmed milk. The lodge has a large balcony, with views across to the lake and benefits from some fabulous sunsets. Although the site is very quiet, ideal for relaxing and destressing, there are plenty of attractions within 30 minutes driving, should you wish to venture out, especially National Trust locations. Ramsey is the nearest town with proper supermarkets, about 10 minutes drive away. We knew about this lodge from staying on the campsite and knew it would be good, as we know how well the owner manages the campsite facilities. We would really recommend a stay here if you want to relax and chill out.

Everything was perfect and we will definitely stay here again. The location is peaceful and very well cared for, and the property itself is well-equipped and comfortable. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and the outlook from all windows was fabulous - we could see the fishing lake, the reeds, and very few people. It was great to hear cuckoos in the morning,and nothing else. It was the perfect getaway. The location is excellent for getting out and about. Ramsey is rural and the lodge is remote but we ventured to Wimpole, Peterborough and the Cambridgeshire Show, and had a great short break. Our only issue was the directions. We found ourselves on the grounds of Mereside Farm as shown in the details we were sent, but the lodge is actually located at Riverside Lake and Leisure. We drove around for 30 mins looking for the lodge without luck and thankfully we found a local man walking his dog who knew. The lodges are set back from the road so are not visible. I think the directions should be amended. Sat Nav told us we were close but we just couldn't find it!
