The Stables was a perfect place to stay for us.

Our dog was welcomed with bowls for water a toy for her to play with. The bedrooms were lovely with comfortable beds. We were welcomed by Jane as we arrived and shown through the property with her telling us its history. A welcome pack was also left for us which was great. The location is perfect for travel into Chester via the park and ride by Chester Zoo. Only £5 for four adults and car park, for all day.

The Stables was a fantastic find.

It really was a home from home with everything we needed. It had things we sometimes felt were missing from other rentals. Great showers, comfortable beds and 3 smart tvs. It was lovely to sit in the courtyard which was fully enclosed and perfect for dogs. We really appreciated the welcome pack. Jill and Jane were amazing hosts. They even looked after our dog Zeta when we were out all day at our daughter’s graduation. It was a 5 minute drive into Chester and 35 into Liverpool on the train. We would thoroughly recommend The Stables and will have no hesitation to book again if we are in the area. Thanks Jill and Jane for a lovely stay!

A beautiful accomodation to stay in for the week.

Lovely inside and a pleasant patio garden to 'chill out' in too. It had everything you could possibly need. There were lots of places that you were easily able to visit nearby. We went to Chester, the zoo, Liverpool and NT houses.The hosts were very friendly and helpful. A really enjoyable, relaxing place to stay.

Absolutely fabulous cottage, plenty of room and in immaculate condition.

Would suit 2 couples, as 2 separate double bedrooms, both with lovely ensuite. Perfect location for exploring Cheshire and North Wales. The owners, Jill & Jane, live nearby, which was not intrusive and they were extremely kind, helpful and informative. Would definitely recommend and will hopefully return soon.

We stayed here with our daughter and 2 cats for 4 weeks and The Stables really felt like our second home.

The accommodation is beautifully decorated, clean and high quality. Not far from Chester and close to the motorway for easy links to Manchester and Liverpool. Ample car parking just outside. Would 100% recommend and would stay again! Thanks to Jill and Jane for making us feel so welcome!

Cottage furnished to a very high standard.

Everything beautifully finished. The owners were really friendly and keen to make us feel at home and comfortable. They looked after our dog while we went out for a few hours. We would highly recommend the Stables. The only negative was that there were no shops or pub nearby.

On arrival we were met by Jill who walked us through the property.

We were left a very nice welcome pack. The Stables fully met our requirements enabling us to have a relaxing week, Jill & Jane informed us of places to visit and where to eat out. Unfortunately the weather did not allow us to make use of the very nice court yard.

Lovely cottage - it's a bit like a Tardis - so much bigger than it looks on the outside.

Clean, quiet, comfortable and well equipped. Perfectly positioned for exploring the beautiful city of Chester and the surrounding areas. We spent a week here and still didn't do everything that we wanted!

The cottage was finished to a high standard and had everything we could need for a comfortable stay.

It was in a good location for the city and visiting around. The welcome pack was great and so useful. The two ladies who own the cottage were on hand if needed and friendly to chat with. Being met personally and shown round the cottage was absolutely great. Our hosts did everything they could to help with our stay and a source of great local info. Would come back and recommend.

The Stables is centrally located to visit Chester.

The location is surprisingly peaceful, and relaxing. Accommodation is of very high standard, and warm welcome from our hosts.

We had an amazing stay at The Stables.

Chester is a beautiful city and it's cathedral is so well worth s visit. And Liverpool actually buzzes!! The Stables was well equipped with all that is needed to make a stay a home from home, and Jill and Jane were the perfect hosts - couldn't do enough to make our stay perfect. We will be back in the summer.

What a fabulous property!

Both the accommodation and location were perfect. The owners were next door and couldn't be more helpful. The welcome pack was much appreciated and they had thought of everything to ensure a really comfortable stay. I would highly recommend this place and hope to return next year.

This accommodation is excellent- spotlessly clean, very comfortable and extremely “host thoughtful” in the sense that everything one needs is provided for.

Every modern convenience is here, but there are charming period touches, from the pictures, bric a brac and restored antiques. There is a reading corner with plenty of literature appealing to a variety of tastes, a selection of board games and a lovely chess set. The property is dog friendly, has a charming patio with a barbecue and plenty of outdoor seating. The Stables is perfectly situated for Chester, North Wales and Liverpool and Manchester, (not forgetting the delightful villages/beaches of the unique Wirral peninsula.) Finally, the hosts. Jill and Jane are exceptionally fine hosts, friendly, helpful and very kind. They are unobtrusive and completely sensitive to their guests’ needs. Much appreciated was the welcome package with the provision of eggs, milk, bread and a bottle of Prosecco. Their hospitality is among the best we have encountered and we shall certainly return here - The Stables is great!

Fabulous property.

Just spent a week staying at The Stables. We felt completely at home the moment we stepped inside. What a lovely place. No expense spared with the decor. We also loved the fact that in the kitchen, they had everything you could need, from cooking utensils to fresh eggs and bread! The owners Jill and Jane stayed next door and we met them a couple of times. They were always keen to make sure we had everything we needed and said if we needed anything, just knock. Jill and Jane have clearly put a lot of time and effort into this property, and we would highly recommend!!

A well-appointed cottage.

Set in quiet surroundings but handy for Chester and other areas. A warm welcome from the hosts who had added thoughtful touches to make our stay comfortable. For us it was a real home from home. We would love to stay again in the future.

We received a warm welcome from the owner at this delightful cottage.

It has 2 good double bedrooms each with en-suite so would suit 2 couples sharing, although it did not feel excessive for just 2 of us. It is very comfortable and well equipped, with generous supplies of essentials and treats. It is well positioned, 10 minutes drive from Chester, less to the zoo, and close to some lovely countryside. We hope to return soon.

Our stay was really lovely from the friendly welcome when we arrived.

The welcome goodies were much appreciated and we felt at home straight away. The Stables is a beautiful cottage, well planned and with all you would want. The kitchen is well equipped, the living room and bedrooms are really comfortable and thete ard enty of books and games not to mention the televisions if you want a relaxing time indoors. The outside area is a bonus with a bbq and outdoor table and chairs. The Stables is in an excellent place to explore the area. We had a great time as did our dogs, thank you Jill and Jane, we hope to visit again.

This was the most well equipped cottage I have stayed in.

Everything provided from washing up liquid to teabags. Very clean and comfortable. Very central for all our needs. Very private but with the lovely hosts close by if needed. 100% recommended and we are looking forward to returning.

Wonderful place to stay for our family (2 adults, 2 kids and a dog!

) with great access to cycle paths, including the Chester Millennium Greenway. Hosts were extremely accommodating and welcoming. Would highly recommend and would love to come and stay again!

Property was more spacious than photos looked.

Lovely cottage, well furnished and nice outdoor space relax in. Excellent showers . Had everything we needed. Hosts live nearby and were helpful and friendly. Excellent base for Chester with interesting the shops of Hoole village just 5 mins away. Also well located for sightseeing further afield eg Bodnant Gardens in North Wales and Biddulph Gardens in Shropshire. Highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing getaway .

Gill and Lynn couldn't have been more helpful, and living so close is a plus too.

Amazing place so well equipped.

The welcome pack is the best I have ever had with a loaf of bread and fresh eggs. Everything is provided loo roll, we had sufficient for the whole week. Dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid etc. Highly recommended its 10* from us and will be back. Jill and Jane are amazing and on hand to help if needed. Lovely cortyards to sit in. Sandra & Eddy

Wee had such a warm welcome from Jill and Jane and the starter package was gratefully received.

They couldn't have been more helpful thought our stay. The old stables have been renovated to a high quality, with a lot of love and detail. Only one little thing was the downstairs bed was a bit squeaky when trying to sleep at night, may just need tightening up. Thanks for such a lovely time.

Not as noisy as I feared, on the map the cottage appeared to be close to 2 busy roads but the courtyard was a delightful spot for an Al fresco drink.

Loved the attention that had been taken with the fittings and the easy access to the attractions in Chester.

This is our second visit to The Stables, this is a real home from home for us.

A friendly welcome from our hosts, this holiday home does not disappoint, it,s clean, warm in the winter & cool in the summer, so we'll appointed & has an outside courtyard. The location of The Stables is just great for visiting the area, we covered from Porthmadog to Llandudno, Broughton to Chester & on to Liverpool. We managed to cover a lot of what we wanted to do, but could not achieve all as there is so much to do, so we will just have to return again to cover what we missed ASAP. Looking for places to dine, then you could try The Architect in Chester, Chicquitos in Broughton, Barnacles or Lounge in Llandudno. Places to visit, then Chester City plus boat ride, Chester Zoo, Liverpool One for shopping & Albert Docks is a must, plenty of National Trust houses, castles & gardens, Llandudno tram to the Great Orme, Ffestiniog steam railway mountain spirt 3 hour round trip & Portmeirion just has to be seen, visit their ice cream parlour & sample the Welsh Whisky flavour. Thanks to our hosts at The Stables Chester, it's been an absolutely brilliant stay again, made all the more comfortable & relaxing due to the care & attention you have put into the property & your friendly approach. A great little cottage and a fab stay!

Many thanks to Jill and family who are incredible hosts. We had a wonderful Easter break in this delightful cottage. It was home from home and had everything we needed and the perfect place to unwind and enjoy some time away. Our dog Raggy was made to feel very welcome and also had a great time. It was a good base for us to visit Llangollen, Anderton, Chester and Ellesmere Port. We'll definitely be back for more exploring of this fabulous area. Thank You!

A fabulous stay at an excellent well equipped property, felt like home from home.

Spacious, clean and inviting. Fantastic Access to all nearby attractions , including Chester zoo, city centre and Cheshire Oaks. Jill and Jane were fabulous hosts , very approachable for advice about the nearby surroundings, we received a welcome pack at the cottage and they gave us a warm and friendly welcome. Would definitely return in the future.

We were greeted by our hosts with a warm welcome to the property, a welcome pack, with a tour & handover with additional tips on local places of interest, plus places to dine. The Stables is a well appointed warm & cosy property, with all the home comforts that you could wish for. We had planned to visit the area for a relaxing pre-Christmas break, of which was made all the more enjoyable by the warm welcome, amazing property & location. We were sad to leave at the end of our stay, but will be returning again early 2025. A really heartfelt Big Thank You to the hosts.

This is a delightful, very dog friendly holiday cottage with fabulous facilities, very warm and comfortable and spotlessly clean.

The owners were so very helpful and rightly very proud of the cottage they have created from the old stable and kennel block. Many original features were evident but also they have given great attention to detail and comfort. We highly recommend this lovely place which is close to historic Chester so plenty to see and do.
