  • "Excellent cottage, all rooms spacious, appealingly furnished and comfortable, well equipped kitchen, welcoming and friendly owner."

Quiet location.Parking space tight, not suitable for super-wide vehicles and drive off main road rather challenging. .Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, recommended.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Rose Cottage."

Yes, the access road is rough and parking is tight. Don't come in a low slung vehicle or very large car. Everything you need is at the cottage, it’s very well equipped.. We had a problem with the TV, but Juliette fixed it for us. The cottage is very comfortable for relaxing in the evenings, and the beds are comfortable as well. The master bedroom has the biggest bed I have ever seen.. Bonus points for good lighting throughout the house. We both read a lot. Sadly, I fell and broke my ankle whilst on holiday, so came home a day early. Would we go back again? Yes, definitely.

  • "We had a great holiday."

Rose cottage is very comfortable. Our only criticism is that the description needs to emphasize the rough and steep nature of the track down to it. Some might be concerned about their car's suspension! It's also quite isolated in the sense that there's nowhere to walk from the front gate except along muddy farm tracks, there are noviews from the cottage, and it's close to an unsightly waste recycling plant.

  • "Excellent cottage and amazing kitchen."

This house is comfortable and clean with good space especially the kitchen which I must say has everything, if you think it hasn’t look again it has, I even baked fresh bread a few times which proofed great on Rayburn. Very warm and comfortable house and the host Juliet is extremely kind and helpful without being in your pockets if you need any assistance. Will definitely be staying again. Great for walks and local amenities not far away in St Just.

  • "Absolutely loved this little cottage."

Cosy and comfortable, we adored the Rayburn. Kitchen was really well equipped. Beds were really comfortable. Such a lovely, peaceful and tranquil place. Was a great place for us to rest, relax and recharge. But was also great as a base for us to visit our family in Penzance and St.Erth. We loved being a stones throw away from the moors and ancient stone circles, great for walking our choclador -Nibs! It didn't matter that the weather was wet! Thoroughly recommend this little treasure of a place!

The kids voted it the most homely place we have stayed so far. Lovely in the sunshine but a welcoming retreat when it didn't. Thank you for having us. Andy.

Well equipped and clean and comfortable with lovely walks from the doorstep. Enjoyed the ambience of a secluded valley and cosy fire on the wet days and dark evenings.

  • "What a sweet pea little cottage!"

Cheery and comfortable in an away from it all position in an old farming hamlet. Situated within walking distance to a moorland stone circle. Very comfortable beds. Lovely to sit with friends around the table next to the Rayburn. Upbeat decor. Very helpful, friendly and welcoming owner offering prompt and clear information.

  • "We really enjoyed our recent stay at Rose cottage."

The cottage was very homely, warm and comfortable. It is remote and you can walk onto some very ancient paths from the front door; you could feel a palpable connection to times past! Although remote there are many glorious places within a short drive; St Just, Sennen Cove, Porthcurno, Mousehole, Newlyn (seafood bar a must) Juliet (the owner)emailed over some good local information and the occasional helpful text and welcomed us with coffee, chocolates and bubbly. We will definitely return to the area, very special place.

  • "A wonderful old cottage in a secluded hamlet."

No traffic apart from the odd landrover! Access road is not suitable for low-slung cars, we had no issues but care is needed. We loved the oil-fired Rayburn which provides heating, and the open fire which was put to good use. The cottage has everything needed for a comfortable and cosy getaway, and is furnished by the owner who has her own fabric shop in Newlyn. Free range eggs available on the doorstep daily, otherwise no shops or faclities in the immediate vicinity, which suited us perfectly! Would highly recommend this lovely property for a peaceful escape.

  • "We really liked Rose Cottage very much."

It's a very cozy and well equipped little house in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood, ideal location for exploring the very end of England. There is beautiful nature around the cottage. In St. Just (10-15 mins by bike) there are all shops and pubs you need for self catering. Cape Cornwall is a 40 minute walk. From there you have beautiful cliff walks around the tin coast and amazing beaches. The land lady Juliet emailed us loads of information and recommendations what to see and where to shop best. Thank you for that! Although the road to get to the cottage is very small (as nearly most of the roads in Cornwall) and steep, it is worth going it to find Rose Cottage! We had a wonderful stay there and will definitely come back, when we're in Cornwall again.

  • "The property was lovely and very comfortable and in a great location."

It would have been helpful to us to know that the ground floor ceilings are low, my son is 6 foot 7 so it proved a bit challenging for him !

  • "Lovely cottage and location, ideal for two couples and two dogs."

Comfortable, very attractive decor, sufficient utensils and kitchen equipment (surprising how many do not provide sufficient). Brilliant walking straight from the cottage up the quiet green lanes and footpaths across the hills, littered with ancient monuments and, occasionally, challenged by some of the Cornish paths which are practically impassable. St Just 20 - 25 minute walk, excellent bus service around the coast, even more so with the over-65 bus card. Wonderful cliff walks, gorgeous beaches to swim from. We went to Sennen to surf because as reliable as anywhere around here. The quiet lanes make for cycling paradise, with plenty of good cafes everywhere. Very helpful owner when we had to return to pick up some left items. Thank you.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Rose cottage and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to anyone thinking about staying in Cornwall."

The cottage was well equipped and was supplied with everything we needed for our 5 day stay. It was set back from the mains roads which meant it was lovely and peaceful but you do have to access it by a bumpy unmade road that gets quite narrow for the last 50 yards. We were so glad we picked St Just for our stay as it is such a lovely village with local shops and pubs and also a bus station with free car parking if you want to travel around without driving. Also there are lovely walks, restaurants and beaches to explore which were all recommended by the host Juliet in our welcome email. We were also greeted by some chocolates and wine as a welcome present which was much appreciated after a long drive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay would definitely come back again in the future.

Thank you for your wonderful review Stephen! We are glad you had such a great stay and we would welcome you back anytime! Property Owner
