Stunning apartment.

Clean, spacious with fabulous views across the bay. Loved every minute of our stay. Only thing I won’t miss is the climb back up the hill from the beach!

We had another fabulous holiday in sands apartments,this our first time in Ocean View,it is a very large area laid out with spectacular views over the bay.

The leather settee was made of leather and was very low to the floor which would be fine for the under 30 age group. The settee around the corner was fabric and much higher with lovely views across bay to St ives. The lift was so helpful as wife just getting over hip replacement. Would have liked a few things in the apartment on arrival such as milk but those days seem to have gone. Thank you once again for lovely stay.

No BBC1, BBC2 & ITV Channels working on Sky TV.

Many other channels not working including Music Channels. Property was cold and damp upon arrival and damp towels. We should be told that soap, shampoo and toilet rolls not provided until waiting to find out upon arrival and rushing out to shops after 300 mile drive. Lighting faults sorted day after arrival.

This is the third time we have stayed at this apartment.

Gone are the little luxuries of previous years: the Bose radio, the Villeroy & Boch china, the under pelmet lights in the kitchen weirdly disconnected, the light on the extractor fan gone too.... It's a long list. The little welcome pack has disappeared too alongside small bars of soap in the bathroom. It is a spartan regime now and we won't be returning. The owners appear not to understand that little things matter: so only two black bags for the bins really is annoying and cheap kitchen roll that doesn't do its job is noticed too. That said the apartment is still comfortable with great views, but the profit maximising frugalism of the owners left a nasty taste in our mouths. We can do better for the price charged and so could the owners. You don't build return bookings by showing your guests that you really don't give a damn about their experiences.

We had a brilliant holiday at Ocean View, the apartment is so spacious and the views are amazing!

! Easy access to the train station and the beach is lovely. Things to note, the large sofa is broke, I called immediately on arrival to report this. I was told someone would come out and have a look but we didn’t see anyone. This really could do with repairing/replacing, also the mattress in the main bedroom is very soft with a dip in the middle so this could also do with renewing. The cold tap at the kitchen sink fell off and just needs a small screw to fix it. But we would definitely book again, the cleanliness was great and the apartment is well equipped!!

Fabulous stylish apartment, very well stocked, comfortable beds and sofa and brilliant location.

The views are stunning. It’s a great base for a family on a self catering holiday.

The flat matched the description, the location is perfect for exploring the local area and the view was great.

It’s spacious and well furnished plus having Sky+ was a bonus. The kitchen is well equipped and the parking was very convenient. The gas boiler had a fault but Carbis Bay holidays sent someone to fix it within the hour which was impressive! The only negatives are the mattresses are not the most comfortable and the curtains in the master bedroom don’t block the light from the exterior lighting. Still overall a very nice place to stay in Carbis Bay.

A few things went wrong and we had no local contact telephone numbers or email.

The only telephone number on the website was a national number for Sykes. We had to leave a hand written list on our departure which hopefully will be passed on to the relevant person.

Too expensive, ripped off

Stayed at the Ocean View 24/06/22 to 01/07/22.

The apartment is excellent. Spotlessly clean , great views overlooking the sea. Great location .

No Wi-Fi hence no e of the associated services depending on Wi-Fi.

The issue was already known by the previous person staying as written in the guest log book from the week before where they had taken same steps as us and got the same reply. Which suggests that this was a known issue prior to our stay. Nobody informed us prior to the stay that there would not be any internet connection and it did affect our ability to work substantially. We were not offered any form of compensation or a work around despite our having raised it early on. Otherwise great views and lovely flat!

The property was the stuff of dreams we will 100% be returning.

Lovely property with great facilities and views

The only downfall is the lateness of entry to property.

The DVD player, Ipod dock and outdoor seat cushions were not there.

These are listed on the website and in the apartment's instructions. We brought a number of DVD's to watch, but couldn't. There were no instructions that we could find for the appliances or central heating. We couldn't get the under cupboard lights to work in the kitchen. The shower in the bathroom continues to run when the bath is being filled. The lights in the en-suite are inadequate. and the shower door does not close fully. The bin store door lock is difficult to open (This was reported at the time but nothing happened). There was no local information: Train times, local amenities, restaurants etc.

The apartment was very comfortable with good facilities .

The cleaning was not of a good standard there was dust and hairs on a lot of surfaces the shower wasn't very clean. We spoke to the man who was cleaning the apartment and he told us he had 16 apartments to clean that day which would explain why it wasn't very clean. I felt like the money we paid for the apartment would have included an amount for the cleaning of the apartment and so we paid for something that didn't happen. We have always previously used Aspects holidays and never had a problem with the apartment being dirty this was our first time with Carbis holidays and was a little disappointed

"The apartment is wonderfully appointed with all the luxuries required needed to make our stay comfortable. I am sure you have heard it many times before but the biggest factors, the fantastic view of the St Ives headland, the space in the apartment and the great fittings make this an excellent place! The kitchen holds all the utensils and appliances necessary to cater for oneself and the apartment’s security and quite peace sets it apart. We had a fantastic meal at 15 on Watergate Bay and also a great lunch on the terrace at the Porthmeor Hotel now called St Ives Harbour Hotel. Both are highly recommended. In addition I would direct guest to the Porthminster Gallery down at Westcott Quay. Some truly wonderful art/sculpture pieces which we ended up investing in!" D. Aggar

"We had a lovely stay at Ocean View. The apartment didn’t disappointment and lived up to our expections! The interior was of a very high specification and it was warm and comfortable. It was also very clean and well equipped. Julie was there to welcome us, which immediately made us feel at home and the cream tea was a nice surprise. The apartment was also very quiet. The views were spectacular and the position of the property was perfect for the train to St Ives and also the local shops. My boys are aged 10 and 8 and they particularly enjoyed the Eden Project. Also they went go-karting which is only a five minute drive from the apartment. We all enjoyed the Badger Inn which was family friendly and good value. The local fish and chips were also very good." "Ocean View is exactly as expected i.e. a high standard of cleanliness, very good facilities, regarding a nice eating place I have always enjoyed 'Peppers' in the Centre of St. Ives. We took Coastal Path walks initially from Carbis Bay to St.Ives then two days later from Carbis bay to Hayle and back.The Train Branch Line connections are usually every hour stopping at Carbis Bay but most stations are visited on the half hour. Its very reasonable i.e. a £1 per person each way, the last train back on a Saturday from St.Ives is 10:05pm." L. O'Connor

"Ocean View is an excellent property with fantastic views over St Ives and Carbis Bay. The apartment is of an exceptionally high standard with fixtures and fittings of a very high quality iindeed. The location was great with the little railway line to St Ives, the beach and the south west coast peninsular path all within a few minutes. We didn't really bother to use the car during our week as we prefer a central location with good walks from the door and public transport nearby. We also enjoyed the luxury of the flat, the views, the lovely sofas and all the comforts of home - and more! We loved the games compendium and that helped on wet days. We did the coastal walk to Lelant then were lucky enough to be just in time (after a good pub lunch at the Badger) to catch the open top bus back to St Ives and then finish our circular walk back to Carbis Bay.We had a memorable evening at the Porthminster Cafe." Ocean View, The Sands

We have just returned from a fantastic week in Ocean View. The apartment is beautiful and so well equipped, it has an enormous lounge and the views are outstanding. Carbis Bay Holidays are always our first port of call when visiting Cornwall, they have superb properties and high standards when it comes to cleanliness etc. We have already booked one of their properties for next year and are considering another for later this year.
