We enjoyed our stay at St Ives Bay View.

It was great to be able to wake up and see the gorgeous blue sea every day. The property was very comfortable and well equipped. It was great to have the large Tesco within easy walking distance. We enjoyed lots of walking around St Ives, Carbis Bay and beyond. The hills certainly helped us burn off the calories from all the pasties and cream teas!

Beautiful views and nice clean accommodation.

Few issues that have been mentioned in other reviews, upstairs bathroom door handle virtually hanging off! We were afraid to close the door in case we got shut in. Kitchen knives were absolutely useless, would struggle to cut butter with them - either need a good sharpen or replace with better quality. No kitchen tongs. Apart from that really comfortable and well equipt apartment.

We had the best October half term week here.

The apartment is perfectly located for everything - Tesco, train station, beach, not too far to walk into St Ives, restaurant (The Gannet). It was so lovely & clean, well equipped with anything you could need. It was homely & comfortable & we couldn’t have be happier. We hope to return in the summer.

Lovely property Ideal for our little holiday

We loved our stay and fantastic views!

It really was perfect for our family. We loved the location being a short 10 minute walk through the woods to the train station abit of a hill back though be warned! Was very clean when we arrived. A few maintenance things need looking at. The main bedroom upstairs the handle on the bathroom door was hanging off when we got there which meant all week we couldn’t shut the door. With the bathroom door downstairs we couldn’t lock the door as it was very stiff when locked. The washing machine was fab to have but it being in a cupboard it felt like the whole house was shaking when it got up to speed possibly needs moving to the kitchen. We would definitely stay again though it’s a fantastic apartment

There were a few things that could be improved that have been mentioned in other reviews but nothing to spoil the holiday and would definitely stay again.

6☆ rating on Sykes website. Here is a list of things that need attention- no fire blanket/extinguisher in property. Ve. Gripper in doorway ry poor flow in upstairs bathroom shower, shower furniture rusty, bathroom smells very unpleasant when shower or toilet is used. Sealant around bath in downstairs bathroom falling off, bottom of shower screen mouldy and dirty. Gripper in doorway to bedroom loose and got jammed under door, wardrobe door handle fell off. Had to force top opening window vent to close on window by dining table. Only 5 mugs in property, one of which is chipped. Only one cereal bowl and 4 fruit dishes, not enough for a property that could sleep 6 people. Not up to the usual reliable Sykes property star rating.

When we arrived after a four hour journey.

. to find the fridge wasn’t turned on and so therefore defrosted ice Filling the fridge bottom and door with water ! So had to mop that lot up !! Both bathroom door handles need attention before they fall apart .. other than that a comfortable apartment with lovely sea views from the front windows . Unfortunately a busy noisy road to the back opposite two of the bedrooms!! Would stay again though despite the above comments.

The property has stunning views, very clean and tidy.

Plenty of towels, soft bed linen and having a washing machine really helped. A couple of things we had issues with- the bath leaked and this made the carpet damp in the bedroom where the boys slept and left a smell. i reported but had no feedback. The WiFi only seemed to work in the upstairs bedroom so couldn’t get most of the freeview channels in the living room. I reported this along with the broken ironing board and the tap dripping in the kitchen. I tried via what’s app and on the online account but barely got a response. Apart from this we were very happy with our stay and the kids loved it! Would definitely recommend.

Handy for bussing into St Ives.

This has been out 3rd visit, and thoroughly enjoyable, but I would just mention a few things.

We were disappointed there was no hand soap in the bathroom or en-suite. On arrival after a journey a fairly necessary thing to have in place really.Of course we go to tesco as soon as we've unpacked. The metal dish rack on the draining board is rusty. Not all the undercupboard lighting works, the en-siite basin tap needs some adjusting and the main bathroom toilet roll holder needs replacing, although everyone seems to think it's great fun taking bets on if it's still going to be there! Having said all that we really love staying at Valley View and are looking forward to our next visit. The help line people are wonderful and anything that needs tending to is dealt with swiftly. As I say my comments are not complaints, just comments!

We had a lovely stay!

All rooms were spacious with comfortable beds, the kitchen was well equipped, the fridge did have a Good awful smell to it though, I believe there was damp beneath it which will need looking in to.

Great property, lovely location and was well stocked with a fully equipped kitchen.

Pillows and beds super comfy, lots of wardrobe space and hangers! Hairdryer handles were very sticky with gel/hairspray so I ended up cleaning one as it stuck to my hand every time I used it! Slightly disappointed that there was no recycling facilities so I had to bring it home! Would definitely stay again

One of the best we've stayed in over the years. Good location and handy for visiting local beaches etc.

The apartment was amazing, really comfortable, great location, we loved every minute of our stay.

Everything you could need - like home from home!

Excellent accommodation and fantastic views.

The pillows were not comfortable and caused me neck ache. The downstairs toilet was not checked before we arrived and needed to be repaired. Shower heads need to be cleaned before each guest as there was a build up of limescale deposits. All in all a great holiday and these are minor points for the landlords future reference.

It was clean and well decorated.

Everything that we needed was provided and we appreciated the welcome pack. We have booked the property for next year.

St Ives Bay View: This is very difficult, as, I am not one of those people who moan about trivia such as having 'no can opener' and things like that, but as nice as the property is, and it is nice, everything nice about it was negated by the poor quality beds and our resulting backaches that followed.

I practise yoga & hubby does football, so it was not down to our bad posture & fitness, but to the sheer softness of these beds providing zero support. It was sheer torture on our backs, so much so, even my yoga couldn't heal my back quick enough. It was like sleeping on a camping inflatable lilo. The king upstairs had a bulge in the middle, so we kept falling off to the even softer sides where there was no support at all hitting the wooden frame around the bed. My daughter & hubby only stayed two nights and said the same of the twin beds. When we removed the bedding, they were the same make. I am used to a high quality firm zip and linked king bed that is still as firm 20yrs later! We left a day early, as we couldn't bear another evening sleeping on the bed and our backs were hurting. The other issue was that we had to put white towels on the corners of the bed frame after both of us cut our legs on the corners, what with the bed frame being identical in colour to the floor and sticking out some way from the bed itself. Anything, I haven't mentioned was good and the welcome pack was a very nice touch, but overall, I could never stay there again due to the poor quality beds.

Apart from a few minor issues when we arrived and trying to resolve them with Carbis Bay Holidays, ie no obvious up to date information pack, extremely ill-fitting sheet on one of the beds, TV didn't work properly, no tin opener; the property itself was a lovely apartment, very clean, spacious and modern and with great views of the bay.

It'd be ideal if the issues we'd described could have been resolved on the weekend we arrived rather than waiting till the Monday. Otherwise, staff were very helpful and friendly by phone and in person.

Very comfortable generally but We would like to have some decent sharp knives , also some cushions for the settee

Really cozy, warm, well equipped apartment with fantastic views.

Spacious and light and the master bedroom is fantastic. Lots of lovely little extras like biscuits and drinks in the fridge. Would definitely stay here again.

We visited the apartment 2 years ago This year we felt it was a little bit tired.

Fridge door didn't fit properly. Bathroom doors sticking. Sofas not very comfortable. Upstairs double bed comfortable, but. Timber slats noisy.

Nice to be able to walk into St Ives along the coastal path. Lovely beach to walk down to. The accommodation is good. We think the beds do need changing though as they are a bit uncomfortable.

"We loved our very spacious apartment with full amenities. The walk to St Ives was delightful so just take your time and enjoy the view and steps. It was a very central location to drive to all the Cornwall sights and not have to deal with skinny roads and traffic like St Ives.
