Rose Cottage is a charming cottage in Porthcothan Bay near Padstow.

Offering a welcoming base for families and friends seeking a coastal break close to one of Cornwall’s most celebrated beaches, featuring a woodburning stove, a generous garden.

Arriving at Rose Cottage in Porthcothan Bay, you turn into the small lane leading from the village road and follow it to the private driveway where you can park with ease.

With the North Cornish coastline only a short walk away, the scene is set for a memorable stay.

Stepping inside, you enter the living area where the cottage naturally divides into three welcoming spaces.

To one side sits the snug library, perfect for settling down to read a book or unwind on the window seating, with the staircase rising from this corner.

On the opposite side is the sitting room, where two inviting sofas and a pouffe create a warm gathering spot.

The woodburning stove glows from its exposed brick fireplace, giving the room a cushy atmosphere, and artwork on the walls adds colour and character throughout.

There is also a study area that offers a calm corner to plan your adventures or check messages while still feeling connected to the flow of the house.

Walking through to the spacious kitchen and dining area, the cottage opens up beautifully.

Here you can prepare meals using the generous worktops and integrated fridge freezer and dishwasher, before gathering at the dining table for six.

The bi fold doors draw you outwards and open the room onto the private courtyard where fresh air drifts inside during sunny afternoons.

The utility room sits just off the kitchen and offers space to deal with sandy clothes, with a washing machine and tumble dryer ready after days at the beach.

Upstairs, the bedrooms continue the thoughtful styling.

The super king size bedroom is brightened by Velux windows that let natural light pour across the armchair and dressing table.

The en suite walk in shower room completes the space with an uplifting, refreshing feel.

The king size bedroom features a charming headboard, while the twin bedroom also includes a Velux window that fills the room with soft daylight.

The family bathroom offers both a bath and a walk in shower and is brightened by a Velux window and coastal artwork that enhances the sense of being close to the sea.

Outside, the rear garden becomes a highlight of your stay.

Step through the bi fold doors into the courtyard and follow the steps that rise to the lawn, where flowers border the grass and the summer house stands ready for easygoing evenings at the bar or relaxed afternoons enjoying the sunshine.

With its generous size, this garden provides space for children to play while adults unwind in their own corner.

When you head out to explore, a shop and a welcoming pub lie a short drive away, and the beach can be reached easily on foot.

Padstow, Constantine Bay and Harlyn offer cafés, surf spots and sweeping sands, while the Camel Trail and the dramatic cliffs at Carnewas at Bedruthan Steps provide exceptional days out.

Within an hour, Tintagel Castle invites you to cross the sweeping footbridge, explore ruins tied to ancient legend and take in the remarkable coastal views from the headland.

Wadebridge offers riverside cafés, independent shops and easy access to the Camel Trail for a scenic cycle beside the estuary.

In Newquay, the Blue Reef Aquarium immerses you in marine life as sharks glide overhead, Fistral Beach showcases rolling surf and golden sand and the harbour makes the perfect finish to the day.

Rose Cottage offers a memorable break close to the beach.
