  • "Our stay at Sea Spray- met with lots of cobwebs like an early Halloween house."

Dusty/dirty windowsills, lots of flys inside the property. Bath tiles covered in mould, had to buy cleaners to spray and clean it all, ironically spraying mould and wiping off takes literally a few minutes! Ceiling in bathroom had recently been pained, as paint splodges in bath, which were still wet! Luckily only two people staying, over half the towels had either brown marks or what looked like mould engrained into them. No bread knife and a general lack of utensils compared to next door. - do have photo’s if you’d like them?

  • "This was our second visit to Sea Spray (first in July 2021)."

Whilst the location is great (if you are ok with the train line) and the views are amazing, the cottage needs some serious TLC and investment. We reported the broken beds in 2021 - these were still in place, with 3 out of 4 being unusable until the very lovely maintenance man fixed two of them. This was also reported by previous occupants this season. The TV required retuning every day; Wi-Fi was inconsistent; clothes airer only had 3 legs so we had to use it upside down; coffee machine was missing the water reservoir; patio door no longer locks and whilst an attempt has been made to secure it with bolts the other side this was not secure. The fridge is just not big enough for the number of potential occupants. It's such a shame as we loved this property so much in 2021 hence wanting to return this year. It would be great to see some investment and TLC as this really is a hidden gem of a holiday location.

It is a seaside cottage and exactly as it is decribed. It is clean, well supplied with bedding, towels etc. The kitchen is well stocked with everything we could need. The shower and bath which is combined provides plenty of hot water. Plenty of very easy parking on the doorstep of the cottages. Excellent location for us to visit and acces local areas whether that be restaurants, beaches, tourist attractions as well as a choice of supermarkets just up the road. We will be back again in 2024.

  • "Have been staying at Sea Spray for over 13 years."

Although we love the accommodation it really does need an overhaul. New mattresses are required as they are either the original or the cheapest ones ever. Dining table chairs are sagging and cutlery is mismatched with many years of different styles making up a set. Would be good to see bathroom updated (again original) and better WiFi (slow and drops out regularly).

  • "Clean, comfortable and well presented living area."

Well equipped with good quality linen and, if you are happy with trains running close by, it is well positioned near the beach and coastal path. My main criticism relates to the inadequate size of the bedrooms. This is a nice size accommodation for a small family but cramming double beds into single size bedrooms is not acceptable. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay at Sea Spray and would be happy to return in the future.

  • "A generously sized kitchen lounge diner with patio doors looking over mounts bay and St Michael's mount."

There is a plentiful supply of hot water with an excellent shower in the good sized bathroom. It is evident that there has been money spent in the recent past but there are some shortfalls in the kitchen area. In particular, the fridge would seem to be the original built in unit, which is very small and inadequate for a six person holiday visit. The freezer compartment door does not close properly which means the freezer compartment frosts up rapidly. There is plenty of room to put in a modern stacking fridge freezer at the end of the work surface. The cooker hood is very dilapidated with the cover over the light broken and hanging down and the casing of the unit is covered in brown marks! Of the three bedrooms the largest which should be the master is overcrowded with a double and an extra single bed. There is another small bedroom with a double bed up against the wall. The only bedroom with access to both sides of a double bed is small and awkwardly shaped with six sides making it very cramped. We feel that the sleeping arrangements would be much more convenient if the single bed was removed. Notwithstanding these criticisms we enjoyed our stay especially as there is a real ale pub 100 yards away.

Thank you for completing your feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. The property is currently undergoing an upgrade. We hope that we can welcome you back to Cornwall in the future. Property Owner

All on one level with no steps or hills to get to the property. Plenty of space and everything you need for a self catering holiday. A nice outdoor area backing onto the sea. The coastal path was accessible by a garden wall and slope or a two minute walk for those less physically able. There is a pub restaurant two minutes away and a shop in Long Rock Village 15 minutes walk. Still needs investment in the bathroom (which is tired) and all window frames require overhaul/ repairs. Gardens are kept immaculate however general cleanliness of accomodation was not great. This is a recurring problem year after year. Kitchen utensils are adequate albeit I'd recommend you bring your own frying pan as the one provided is cheap (like a child's toy kitchen type). No bin in the kitchen and a broken clothes airer also add to this list of inadequacies The unique and special location of the accomodation and the ability to book several holiday homes on one site are the reasons we have put up with the issues described above so hopefully next year we will see further improvements that will ensure my family's comtinued custom

  • "The property we stayed at is in a fantastic location and has great parking for two cars."

Booking was easy and clear. We were really close to the beach and the kids loved being able to walk there. However, the lack of cleanliness was a massive let down. We had an ant problem on the first two days. I contacted the phone number provided and they told me to just use the spray under the sink (indicating they knew it was a problem). We had a 3 year old and an 18 month old with us, so using spray was not an acceptable solution. Instead we ended up buying our own traps. I am not surprised we had ants because the floors were quite frankly disgusting. I had to ask them for a hoover because it clearly hadn’t been done and we bought floor cleaner to clean all the floors. Within 10 minutes of arriving our feet were black and covered in bits. In addition, the bathroom was horrendous and we cleaned it all ourselves. We do not have overly high standards, but it felt like it hasn’t even been cleaned from the last visitors, which is gross and unacceptable. On our first day we had no supplies such as dishwasher tablets, wash sponges etc so we ended up buying them as we thought they were supplied. Low and behold day 2 they arrived, a little late. The beds were so lumpy and uncomfortable and everything about this place is cheap. The windows and doors are simply disgusting and covered in cobwebs - you feel dirty opening them. the front door doesn’t open easily so if ever there was a fire it would be a hazard. All in all we enjoyed the holiday but we would never stay in this property again and I would recommend you don’t either unless you like coming on holiday to clean and fight off ants!
