  • "Other than the fact that the toilet cistern and the washing machine were very noisy, everything was just perfect."

If these two niggles were fixed, we would have given 'Sea Spray' top marks.

  • "Great weeks stay at the sea spray!"

Perfect location. Highly recommend anyone to stay there. Don’t think you could beat it right on the beach and a great base to explore the local area. Accommodation was clean and the owner was very helpful with our needs and responded very quickly. Only negative is the flushing system in the toilet might need replacing soon as it’s getting loud when you flush. Will certainly be booking for next year!

  • "We think the fridge/ freezer was far too small and the property could have done with couple more things to make it better."

There was no cheese grater or a jug of any kind which would have been useful. Apart from that we were really pleased with the property and if we we're in Cornwall again would stay there again. It did help that we were very lucky with the weather the week we were there. I would recommend this property.

  • "A generously sized kitchen lounge diner with patio doors looking over mounts bay and St Michael's mount."

There is a plentiful supply of hot water with an excellent shower in the good sized bathroom. It is evident that there has been money spent in the recent past but there are some shortfalls in the kitchen area. In particular, the fridge would seem to be the original built in unit, which is very small and inadequate for a six person holiday visit. The freezer compartment door does not close properly which means the freezer compartment frosts up rapidly. There is plenty of room to put in a modern stacking fridge freezer at the end of the work surface. The cooker hood is very dilapidated with the cover over the light broken and hanging down and the casing of the unit is covered in brown marks! Of the three bedrooms the largest which should be the master is overcrowded with a double and an extra single bed. There is another small bedroom with a double bed up against the wall. The only bedroom with access to both sides of a double bed is small and awkwardly shaped with six sides making it very cramped. We feel that the sleeping arrangements would be much more convenient if the single bed was removed. Notwithstanding these criticisms we enjoyed our stay especially as there is a real ale pub 100 yards away.

Thank you for completing your feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. The property is currently undergoing an upgrade. We hope that we can welcome you back to Cornwall in the future. Property Owner

  • "Sea Spray holiday cottage is starting to get a little tired and in need of an update, such as a broken toilet seat, broken toilet roll holder, damaged extractor fan, rusty microwave and very soft mattresses."

That said the property was clean and in a superb location, which did make up for it's faults. With a little investment this could be a first class property.

Thank you for your feedback, which we have passed to the owner to ensure that all of the points raised are addressed. We are pleased that despite these issues you enjoyed your visit to Sea Spray. Property Owner

  • "Have stayed at location previously, but in a different bunaglow."

Accomodation was clean and comfortable, and it was nice to find milk and tea/coffee provided on arrival. I received a text message towards the end of holiday to say that should have received email with details of how to leave property on departure. As I was on holiday, I had no access to email! Perhaps agents should send departure details with arrival details, or leave them at property?

  • "We chose this accommodation as an elderly member of our family came on holiday with us and it was perfect."

All on one level with no steps or hills to get to the property. Plenty of space and everything you need for a self catering holiday. A nice outdoor area backing onto the sea. The coastal path was accessible by a garden wall and slope or a two minute walk for those less physically able. There is a pub restaurant two minutes away and a shop in Long Rock Village 15 minutes walk. It is perfect for those wanting to avoid the crowds but still have easy access to visit other places in the area. Highly recommended.

  • "The accommodation did not appear clean on arrival."

Sadly the toilet smelt like a public urinal and it was very off putting. Also if you moved the bed or table of sofa then the dirt and dust underneath was appalling. Change your cleaners! In this current climate this level of cleanliness Is just not acceptable! The location however is unbeatable.

Only negative (unless you are a trainspotter) is the adjacent railway line but the trains are no more frequent than about once every 10 minutes and don't run through the night. Already planning a return visit.

  • "Good to see after 10 years of consecutive visits some of the furniture has been updated and flooring and some soft decorations have been replaced."

Still needs investment in the bathroom (which is tired) and all window frames require overhaul/ repairs. Gardens are kept immaculate however general cleanliness of accomodation was not great. This is a recurring problem year after year. Kitchen utensils are adequate albeit I'd recommend you bring your own frying pan as the one provided is cheap (like a child's toy kitchen type). No bin in the kitchen and a broken clothes airer also add to this list of inadequacies The unique and special location of the accomodation and the ability to book several holiday homes on one site are the reasons we have put up with the issues described above so hopefully next year we will see further improvements that will ensure my family's comtinued custom

  • "The cottage was in a great location, problem was the cleaning that had been done or the lack of before we arrived, cob webs that looked liked they had been there for weeks if not months in the bathroom, all windows sills where dirty and had varous ammounts of cobwebs, flaking ceiling paint in the bathroom, floors that had not seem a brush never mind a vac for weeks, cracked dusty and dirty skirting boards, sand in the drawers but worst of all the over powering smell of damp and mould in the bedrooms, in the middle bedroom a large black mould patch in the corner on the ceiling, beds felt damp and uncomfortable."

I have no problem with Sykes, just the cottage was a let down when you have to spend most of your first day cleaning, after a long drive.

We didn't realise the railway track was so close to the bungalow and run quite frequently especially throughout the week but this did not affect our holiday in the slightest but may affect familys with younger children who could be woken up by this.i would highly recommend this to other people and we will definitely be coming back next year! ps.the weather was gorgeous which makes all the difference :) .

  • "The property we stayed at is in a fantastic location and has great parking for two cars."

Booking was easy and clear. We were really close to the beach and the kids loved being able to walk there. However, the lack of cleanliness was a massive let down. We had an ant problem on the first two days. I contacted the phone number provided and they told me to just use the spray under the sink (indicating they knew it was a problem). We had a 3 year old and an 18 month old with us, so using spray was not an acceptable solution. Instead we ended up buying our own traps. I am not surprised we had ants because the floors were quite frankly disgusting. I had to ask them for a hoover because it clearly hadn’t been done and we bought floor cleaner to clean all the floors. Within 10 minutes of arriving our feet were black and covered in bits. In addition, the bathroom was horrendous and we cleaned it all ourselves. We do not have overly high standards, but it felt like it hasn’t even been cleaned from the last visitors, which is gross and unacceptable. On our first day we had no supplies such as dishwasher tablets, wash sponges etc so we ended up buying them as we thought they were supplied. Low and behold day 2 they arrived, a little late. The beds were so lumpy and uncomfortable and everything about this place is cheap. The windows and doors are simply disgusting and covered in cobwebs - you feel dirty opening them. the front door doesn’t open easily so if ever there was a fire it would be a hazard. All in all we enjoyed the holiday but we would never stay in this property again and I would recommend you don’t either unless you like coming on holiday to clean and fight off ants!

No heating in the bathroom. It was too cold, water logging at the shower. In sufficient tissue papers. One roll of kitchen tissue would have made your kitchen perfect.
