  • "Very dusty and dirty floors and one pillow was very stained."

Noisy neighbours above and the barking dogs allowed in some apartments spoiled it. The ensuite toilet took hours to stop filling and was loose from the wall.

  • "A lovely apartment, we have stayed in Waves several times and the owners have recently updated it."

Unfortunately since Sykes took over Carbis Bay Holidays their high pricing policy makes early booking now prohibitive - I suggest this needs to be reconsidered to avoid customers making alternative bookings at more reasonable prices.

  • "The Waves is a lovely bright cheerful place to stay whilst in St Ives."

Perfectly situated …..only minutes to walk to Porthminster Beach, shops, restaurants, train station, bus station, coast path etc. The apartment is ideal for a couple or family of three or far. It is comfortably furnished, nice quality crockery, glasses etc. Everything you need for a happy stay in St. Ives.

Thank you for your fantastic feedback. We are thrilled to hear that you loved the property and area! Thank you so much again for your comments and we look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back in the future. Kinds Regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team Property Owner

  • "We had a fabulous stay at "The Waves" in St Ives."

A beautifully comfortable stylish appartment with every modern convenience. The main bedroom was extremely spacious with plenty of wardrobe space and hangers and the bed and pillows were very comfy and I myself am very fussy about pillows, so 10 out of 10! We also loved the sunny balcony overlooking the beach, perfect for an al fresco breakfast or an evening drink. We will certainly return. The only negative really, was that the people staying before us had forgotten to put the dishwasher on, so we had to deal with their dirty dishes. Perhaps this is something that the cleaners should be checking?

Dear Mrs Hutchinson, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us your wonderful feedback! We are so pleased to hear that you had a great stay and are looking forward to welcome you back in the near future! Kind Regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team Property Owner

  • "Would highly recommend the Waves apartment, good facilities, and Nicely furnished."

On site parking is a real bonus as parking in St Ives is a nightmare. St Ives is only 10 minute walk and maybe 15 minutes walking back as it is uphill but not too steep. The walk back offers wonderful views of St Ives and it's lovely beaches.

  • "A lovely little apartment, perfect for the 3 of us!"

It was very comfortable and I enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the sea. Facilities are really good - there were items provided in the kitchen that we didn’t have when hiring a house for 10 people. The apartment was very warm, even with no heating on, which made me wonder how hot it gets in the summer months, as we would definitely consider coming back. There were just 2 extra things that would have made it perfect - we needed more hand towels, especially as the heated towel rails were switched off, the towels stayed wet. Unlike being in a hotel, you can’t just ask someone for more. Keeping a few spares in the wardrobe would suffice. Also, we ended up moving the TV from the main bedroom into the 2nd bedroom, as our teenage Son wanted one. (We put it back before departing.) We haven’t stayed anywhere before without a TV in each room. The apartment is ideally located just a short walk into town. The secure, allocated parking space was great. Thank you for the thought you have put into what is provided and the standard to which the apartment is kept. We were glad that you do not accept pets any longer. We would definitely recommend to others.

Dear Mr Williams, Thank you for your feedback. We hope you had a lovely week away. Kindest Regards The Carbis Bay Holidays Team. Property Owner

  • "Lovely apartment in a great location."

Some lovely modern improvements in the furnishing of the apartment since our last stay here. The en-suite shower wasn’t worth using due to the severe lack of pressure and I do feel the cleanliness standard of the Carbis Bay properties has declined in recent visits.

Dear Mr Lovelock, thank you for your Feedback following your recent stay at The Waves and we are pleased to that you appreciated the recent improvements made by the Owners at the property. We are sorry to hear about the issues you experienced during your stay, we have passed these on to our Housekeeping and Maintenance departments for their attention. Everything you would need is provided. Very homely and nice to come back to. The only point to mention is anyone with 'dickie' knees like me the family bath with shower over is high to get into ( in other words deep as bath is raised higher than normal) It is only a minor point as you can use the ensuite shower to other bedroom. And we will definitely be back.

It was clean, plenty big enough and had everything we needed for the week, didn’t even turn on the telly or games machine. Kids loved it and we all felt really at home. All this plus being able to sit on the balcony having breakfast looking out over the sea will bring us back here next year."

  • ""Couldn't fault a thing."

Admin etc was very smooth and painless. Accommodation was very nice and clean. All the touches from welcome snacks, nice towls, kitchen utensils, baby stuff, games consol, sky - down to little things like the beach chairs and bucket spades made it all a real enjoyable experience. With two young children the property was perfectly located for beach, town, leisure centre and access routes which was a bonus. We looked for nice restaurants that catered for children. The ones we liked a lot were Seafood Cafe, Blas Burgerworks, Porthminster Restaurant, The Cornish Range (Mousehole), Waterfront Restaurant and various fish and chip shops. Attractions in the area we enjoyed was St Michaels Mount, Minack Theatre, the st ives swimming pool and various beachs particularly Porthminster beach." M. Tatham

I couldn’t fault the accommodation and the cleanliness. We had a fantastic evening meal at the Porthminster Beach Cafe – lovely food and service. Rhubarbs Cafe was a real find – we had lunch and an evening meal there. We would recommend Sennen Beach and Porthcurno and the beaches in St Ives are lovely. St Ives is a wonderful place to stay and we enjoyed our holiday very much." R. Dukes

We would recommend the following: the mermaid restaurant, the firehouse restaurant, alba restaurant. As we had a 16 year old, to keep amused we found the go kart track at Hayle was great and the coastal walk taking the train to Lelant Saltings and walking back. A trip to Lands End and the Minack Theatre were great with the Minack being a fantastic experience." L. Wiggins

) and the Wifi for myself. The bed linen and towels are lovely and the housekeeping service is excellent. We always enjoy a coffee in St Ives but we would also recommend pub dinner at the Lamb and Flag at Cannonstown and for something a little special, the Coldstreamer at Gulval." K. Hallworth

  • ""We had a FANTASTIC week's holiday in the Waves apartment at Gallinas Point, we have been regularly coming to St Ives for over 40 years and the Gallinas Point complex is the best accommodation we have stayed in, the location and the standard of accommodation is just FANTASTIC!"

, the apartment is wonderful, we laid out - particularly the open plan kitchen, dining and lounge areas, we like to cook so it was great to be able to do this and still have everyone together. It was an added bonus having SKY TV and WIFI particularly as we couldn't get out for a couple of days due to the bad weather. We are a bit boring when it comes to restaurants as we always visit our 'usuals' and they never let us down, The Beach (window table a must), Alba and our favourite in St Ives The Loft (formally Blue Fish above the Sloop Craft Market). We always love the walk from St Ives to Carbis Bay and onto Lelent across one of the best beahes in the world, Porthkidney Sands taking in a wonderful pub lunch and some much needed liquid refreshments at the Badger Inn in Lelent before the walk back." The accommodation is immaculate and finished to a very high standard. We have a thirteen year old daughter who is in a wheelchair so the wide doors and open plan are perfect for what we need. We love how well equipped the apartment is with the large TV, Sky, Wi-Fi and games consoles for if the weather is bad, and the kitchen with all the utensils you need for if you decide that you want to eat in. You cannot fault anything to be honest and I would recommend this apartment complex to anyone." A. Davies

We have been used to a very high standard of accommodation when we have previously had cottages. We were not disappointed - it was just as we expected from the write up and pictures on the web.
