  • "It did have a dishwasher and a washing machine that you hadn’t stated."

Having to take all the bedding was not easy to fit in the car.

  • "A real find for us for the first time - tho know many have been coming back regularly."

Excellent accommodation, clean, comfortable and nice welcoming touches on arrival. Bringing our own bedding the only drawback - a drag - aware it’s due to Covid, but doesn’t happen in other places we’ve stayed, so hope this changes soon. The beach is fabulous , you need to watch the tide times to get the best of your time on the sand, but we loved it and the dogs had a ball. Definitely come back, tho sadly noticed the ‘for sale’ sign, so really hope it will remain available. Thank you for a super week.

It is beautifully decorated and was spotlessly clean. Its location is perfect, yards from the beach and from lovely cliff walks. I would highly recommend it.

  • "We have just returned from am amazing 5 day break over the Christmas period."

The cottage was lovely, cosy and welcoming, with the cutest little Christmas tree. The furnishings in the cottage were nice - and the shower was great (nice and hot). We had all the bits and bobs in the kitchen that we could ever have needed for a short break, and the owners eve left us 8 scones(there were only 2 of us staying!!) with jam, cream and milk - (how generous). Parking was ideal and ust outside the end of the row of cottages. The actual location of Salty Dog was perfect, only a few steps from the ocean (and shop where you could get a coffee, even over the Christmas period). The costsal path was right outside of the front door. All in all a wonderful place which we hope to visit again soon. Our dog Molly very much enjoyed it too, thank you so much, Rosie & Joe. :)

Everything was spot on and so comfortable, spotlessly clean and very much home from home. The location was perfect, the coastal walk to Tintagel was everything you would expect, very dramatic. Loved every minute of our stay and was definitely recommend it 100%

  • "The location was amazing - literally steps from the beach."

The beach had amazing stretches of sand at low tide and the waves were perfect for body boarding. The accommodation was immaculate and the outdoor area larger than shown in the photos which was a bonus. Would love to stay here again.

  • "A truly lovely place to stay."

Location is unbeatable with the sea/beach being about 6 steps from the front door. Attention to detail at Salty dog cottege is beautiful, a lot of thought had gone into making the most of a relatively small space. The outside space and private parking was a huge bonus. Highly recommended this cottage

Shame that they made us bring our own bedding no other self catering accommodation that I know of insisted on this \ It gets cild even during summer

Thank you for your feedback. We took the decision to ask guests to bring their own bedding after becoming aware that many people were anxious about using pillows and duvets which had been used by the previous occupants only hours before, and we had also noticed guests taking their own bedding into other local lets. Guest's safety is our priority and we realised that sharing bedding and towels during a pandemic is very high risk, and laundering these also jeopardises our own safety. We are sorry you were unhappy with our decision but you would have been aware of this situation before you booked your stay. We hope you enjoyed the many other charms of Salty Sea Dog and will visit again one day. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage in a great location."

Perfect for exploring this part of Cornwall. With the added bonus of a beach to explore or impressive waves to watch depending on the tides and swell.

  • "Wonderfully situated close to beach - but worth checking tide times as sand disappears completely when tide comes in."

Cottage itself is well equipped and is maintained to high standard. Good electric heating. Cream tea provided on arrival The window of the second bedroom looks out onto a wall about a foot away and allows very little direct light in. We have booked to come back next year.

  • "A great place."

Good location. Clean. Beds comfortable, chairs comfy. Liked the washer dryer element of the washing machine. Maybe a small clothes horse to put clothes outside and a potato masher and that’s it! I would definitely recommend this place. The only thing I’d mention are the bunk beds. I do have two teenage boys of 16 and 19 and the upper bunk is more suitable to younger kids. A little bit of a tight squeeze but loved the place.

  • "The Salty Sea Dog, was an absolute pleasure."

The location for us was excellent, with extremely easy access to the beach and costal path (keep an eye on tide times). The cottage was very well presented and very modern. Tintagel Castle was only 2.5mile walk down the coast and is a lovely walk. Port Issac is a 15min drive. If you need a break from (covid) life and require a beatuful place to relax I can strongly recommend.

Although the bedrooms were a little snug this just added to the charm of the place and the whole accommodation was extremely well planned out. It was lovely spending time there and everything provided was all of a very high standard. It really was above our expectations and we loved staying here. Location is amazing too. We will be returning as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • "Perfect cottage and perfect location."

We really enjoyed our stay, the cottage is beautifully decorated and cosy for an autumn break when we needed to retreat from the weather! The fresh scones on arrival were a lovely touch thank you. My only negative is the height of the top bunk, very close to the ceiling so some children might not like it, an older child would struggle to get in the gap. We are definitely going to book again though as perfect for three of us and our dogs.

  • "The cottage was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean."

We had been left delicious scones, jam and clotted cream for a lovely cream tea and fresh flowers. It was very well equipped with all the essentials for a relaxed holiday. Allocated parking space was a real bonus. But the best thing for us was the location. Seconds from the beach in a beautiful cove with Gull Rock straight in front of you. Never too busy as there is only a small cafe and surf/ ice cream shop. Beautiful coastal walk along the cliffs to Tintagel and the very handy Port William pub for a drink with a spectacular view. Would highly recommend and hope to book again soon.

  • "Salty sea dog is in a fantastic location - lots of people walking past and admiring the property - it was great to be so near the sea."

The surf shop is across the road for ice cream and extra hoodies for colder days. the café next door is great for pasties, lunch and great coffee and then the pub on the cliff is such a wonderful spot for a drink overlooking the bay. You need to keep an eye on the tide times as access to the beach is entirely dependent on the tide so plan around it. The cottage itself is really gorgeous and very comfortable, well equipped, warm and clean. It's not the biggest place we've stayed in but the outside patio offers extra room to sit and watch the sea & people and also eat at the lovely table there. There is some storage space which isn't obvious from the pictures or description but there are 2/3 cupboards with hanging space. The kitchen has lots of quality implements (inc scales but exc a potato peeler!) and there are several games we enjoyed playing. We stayed for a whole week and even tough the weather wasn't great it was very comfortable for a family of four inc 2 growing boys.

Beautiful accommodation literally seconds from a gorgeous beach. The beach is dog friendly and at low tide is had plenty of spaces to explore. Great for rock pooling, body boarding & playing games. Salty Sea Dog is fully equipped with everything you need. It is tastefully & thoughtfully decorated, cosy & warm. It is small but was perfect for our family (two adults, two boys aged 9yrs & 12yrs plus our dog) We would not hesitate to return!
