“Salty sea dog is in a fantastic location - lots of people walking past and admiring the property - it was great to be so near the sea.”

The surf shop is across the road for ice cream and extra hoodies for colder days. the café next door is great for pasties, lunch and great coffee and then the pub on the cliff is such a wonderful spot for a drink overlooking the bay. You need to keep an eye on the tide times as access to the beach is entirely dependent on the tide so plan around it. The cottage itself is really gorgeous and very comfortable, well equipped, warm and clean. It's not the biggest place we've stayed in but the outside patio offers extra room to sit and watch the sea & people and also eat at the lovely table there. There is some storage space which isn't obvious from the pictures or description but there are 2/3 cupboards with hanging space. The kitchen has lots of quality implements (inc scales but exc a potato peeler!) and there are several games we enjoyed playing. We stayed for a whole week and even tough the weather wasn't great it was very comfortable for a family of four inc 2 growing boys.

The property

This delightfully presented ground floor apartment rests just paces away from the beach, in a beautiful converted period property.

Simply ideal for a family of four looking for a beach based holiday in a stunning region of Cornwall.

Light and airy with a lovely modern coastal feel, which flows seamlessly throughout.

Large sash windows overlook the Strand, so there is no forgetting that you are merely a stones throw from the beach.

Relax around the lovely rustic dining table and tuck into the delicious cream tea awaiting you.

Wood floors and feature wall panels bring stylish warmth to the comfortable living room.

While you are waiting for the tide to go out, relax on the sofa with a good book, or gather round the table for games.

Silver grey glossy kitchen units create a wonderfully bright space, where rustling up delicious meals for your family will be a pleasure.

The luxurious double bedroom has been thoughtfully designed so you can relax in comfort, with restful nautical blue and white hues, and sumptuous linen bedding.

The bunk room is a quirky, quiet space where the kids will love to hide away.

Wake up to a refreshing shower in the blue and white glossy shower room each morning, before stretching your legs along the coast path and topping up your lungs with fresh salty air.

Complimentary toiletries are provided, along with a hair dryer and fluffy towels.

Spend sunny days lunching on the patio.

The large enclosed outdoor space is perfect for soaking up the coastal atmosphere with a chilled drink and exceptional view of the ocean and Gull Rock.

Stroll up the cliff path to the Port William bar and restaurant, for supper with an amazing view.

Trebarwith's sandy beach is just moments away and is perfect for exploring the rock pools and caves.

Or perhaps catch a lesson with the local surf school, and then go catch some waves.

The coastal path winds its way into Tintagel.

You will be rewarded with dramatic sea views on the way, and the fantastic King Arthur's castle on the headland.

Wander further into the village for refreshment and a visit to the National Trust's historic Old Post Office.

A short drive away is the charming village of Boscastle with its characterful harbour, cafes and pottery.

Or visit pretty Port Isaac and marvel at the picturesque harbour, and maybe catch a glimpse of 'Doc Martin' in action!

Venture inland and explore beautiful, wild Bodmin Moor with its tors, lakes and ponies.

Salty sea dog is a charm-filled getaway in the heart of Cornwall!
