"The holiday home was exactly as described, and spotlessly clean, which was really appreciated."

The beds were really comfortable, and the location really good - just a few minutes walk down the road to the harbour, and a little bit further to the beach. All easy walking distance (though hilly, as expected). It was a lovely quiet road, with nice neighbours, and we always found parking for our 2 cars on the same road (we may have been lucky, I guess). The welcome pack in the fridge was thoughtful, useful and a nice touch; and also the basic essentials provided such as toilet paper, dishwasher tablets, clothes detergent. If we were to return to Porthleven, we would definitely consider staying at Rock Lobster again. Thanks for a great visit! A couple of improvements might be to have a spare key or 2 (one set for front door and one set for back was a lot to share between 8, even with using the lockbox, as sometimes we went out, leaving older kids asleep, and wanted to lock them in). Also we sometimes ran out of some cutlery as we ate in a lot. (last para can just be shared with owners)

"We had an amazing stay in Rock Lobster, the accommodation was so clean when we arrived, and the little touches like the food and milk left in the fridge for us were a very nice touch."

The accommodation is perfect for walks to the harbour, or the beach. Parking was a little bit of a frustration, but other than that, everything was perfect. We have always loved Porthleven and its restaurants, especially Kota Kai, so the location was always going to be perfect. The house is spacious and everything was better than the photos! We loved it and want to come back again soon!

"We had a lovely stay at Rock Lobster."

It is spacious, warm and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble and they even purchased a travel cot for our granddaughter to use as there wasn’t one in the property. We stay in Porthleven regularly and wouldn’t hesitate in returning to this beautiful property.

"Beautiful house, well equipped and stunning views over Porthleven."

Only downside is like most of Porthleven, finding a parking space.

    "Great house and great location."

Very clean. Worked well for two families of 4. Very comfortable beds. Two small and minor suggestions - bins in the larger bedrooms and hand towels. The kitchen tap is wobbly and needs tightening (it’s not leaking). Thanks for a great stay and we would definitely stay again.

"Wow, what a fabulous cottage, it was like home from home, I am extremely fussy with cleanliness’s this cottage was 10/10, for everything, we were happy for our 11 month old grandson could crawl about."

Everything was thought of, thankyou soo much for such a beautiful place, and thank you to the wonderful housekeeper Olivia.

"We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Rock Lobster!"

Photos didn’t do it justice. Lovely big rooms, plenty of space for a family holiday (4 adults, 3 under 5’s). It was great the top bedroom had its own ensuite and Tv so that there was some privacy away from the kids for my sister who stayed with us. 2 showers rooms and a gigantic main bathroom was a huge bonus, plenty of space for the children to play. They loved sitting on the bay window! Hosts were welcoming and communicative, we left something behind and they were extremely accommodating getting it back to us. We provided some minor feedback about thicker curtains on the windows that are too big for travel blackout blinds and they were really receptive to improving their guests stay. Lovely location with so much to do nearby, close to the town and massive supermarkets a short drive. I was a little concerned about parking availability as we went in school holidays but always found spaces for our two cars close to the house. It was an absolute pleasure to stay here and would thoroughly recommend/ come again! Thank you for a lovely family holiday!

Hi Greg, Thank you for your lovely comments and we would welcome you back to Rock Lobster anytime! Jo and Julie Property Owner

"Fabulous, comfy cottage with everything we needed!"

Brilliant location. Just a small point - we would have loved a coffee machine, and maybe some coat hooks by the front door would be useful. Otherwise everything was just perfect, thank you.

"We really enjoyed our stay at "Rock Lobster" the house has been finished to a high standard and accommodated our group of 7 adults 1 child comfortably."

The house I feel has everything you need for a more than pleasant stay. We loved the fact it has 3 bathrooms so there was no queuing when we where getting ready. We had a small issue with the hot water which I spoke with the owner and we tried to troubleshoot unfortunately we where unable to solve the issue so the owner sent out a plumber who attended within the hour and all was sorted. The house it self was lovely and warm throughout our stay even though outside was absolutely freezing. "Rock Lobster" is easy walking distance to the village/harbour where you will find a small supermarket, pubs and a few eateries. My only personal input would be, it would be nice to have had a small tv in the 2 double rooms so you could chill and watch a film when you need a little me time and maybe a Nespresso machine. That is purely personal to me as I don't drink instant coffee however it was NOT the end of the world as I just nipped down to the village for my morning latte and to be fair its a beautiful walk and I could enjoy the lovely scenery while having my coffee. I without a doubt would rent "Rock Lobster" again the rest of the family & also friends/family in Cornwall have said they will be recommending "Rock Lobster" to others. Thank you so much Joe for letting us stay in your little bit of Cornwall it was AMAZING!!!!!

Porthleven is one of south west Cornwall’s hidden, coastal gems, located near Helston, famous for it's annual Flora Dance Festival. Situated between Lizard Point and Land’s End, Porthleven retains the feel of a traditional Cornish fishing village, enjoying uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful Cornish coastline. The iconic clock tower sits on the harbour entrance and the pubs, shops, cafés and restaurants cluster around the historic picturesque inner harbour, where there is plenty of boating and marine activity. With a warren of streets lined with classic Cornish, granite cottages, an extensive beach manned with lifeguards, the chance for alfresco dining in one of a number of well reviewed restaurants, and crabbing off the harbour, there are plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy, all year round. Porthleven is building a reputation for eating out with a popular food festival established in the spring. Out of season, Porthleven has one of the best surf breaks in the country where you can sit down and get lost for hours watching the energetic surfers riding the waves. There are some fabulous hidden coves along this stretch of coastline, including Praa Sands, Poldhu Cove, and Rinsey, a magical setting for the more energetic. You may have even seen pictures of Porthleven on television, being one of the best spots in the UK for storm watching, with the crashing winter waves often being used as the backdrop to weather forecasts. Walkers will enjoy the South West Coast Path, adventuring west past Rinsey Head with spectacular views, or south across Loe Bar to Penrose Estate with it's National Trust cafe, and on to Gunwalloe Church Cove. Take a trip to the Isles of Scilly by boat or plane and marvel at the display of sub-tropical gardens at the stunning Tresco Abbey. The Eden Project near St. Austell offers an interesting day out. Porthleven is the ideal base for discovering the delights of west Cornwall and the Lizard Peninsula.
