  • "We have stayed in this area several times and this is the nicest cottage we have found."

We won't look anywhere else now! The location is ideal and cottage itself is beautifully decorated. it was so nice to have lovey glassware and top quality bed linen - I only wish the place was mine! I highly recommend Cotstone Cottage.

  • "My children and I stayed at Cotstone Cottage for a week of the half term."

The cottage was stunning, so cosy and the owners had thought of everything for our stay. The beds were so comfy and the log fire was a real treat. We had the best time - shops walking distance, breakfast at Huxley’s, meal at Luigi’s Italian and a visit to the museum. We walked Dover’s Hill and also visited Diddly Squat Farm for some eggs and cow juice! The kids have asked if we can return next year - preferring it to going abroad - sold! Thank you for a lovely stay!

  • "Comfortable cottage in the centre of Chipping Campden."

Lovely outdoor space which is a bonus for town centre properties. However, a few issues: Bin store full of smelly rubbish, which we had to carry through the house to put out for the refuse collection. We didn’t appreciate the passive-aggressive notices about placing the rubbish out for collection, given there was several weeks’ worth of rubbish in the bin store. Plenty of kitchen gadgetry, but basics missing -no kitchen roll? Similarly in the bathroom limited handwash soap and only 2 toilet rolls for 4 people for one weeks hire?

  • "Do not hesitate in booking this cottage!"

It was cosy, clean & tastefully decorated & in a great location. Chipping Campden is lovely with lots of pubs (dog friendly) and quaint little shops/restaurants. The parking is on a first come first served basis and although we never always got directly outside the cottage, we were never too far away but do not let that put you off! We got very lucky with the weather & the back garden is a little sun trap - sun all day/evening. We will definitely return & would definitely recommend to family & friends. We visited as a couple with one small dog.

My only suggestion is to add 1 or 2 lamps to front sitting room and to use LEDs with more lumens for the various fixtures-too dark in the rooms and stairwell.

  • "This is a fabulous cottage in the perfect position to explore the Northern Cotswolds."

Chipping Camden is a beautiful town with a good selection of places to eat out without having to drive as everything was within easy walking distance of Cotstone Cottage. The cottage itself was furnished to the very highest of standards and was warm and comfortable. The back garden, although tiered, was a perfect sun trap and had good quality garden furniture, a barbecue and even an awning to protect and give shade. Although the cottage didn’t have it’s own private parking, there was free parking outside and we didn’t have any problems finding a space , albeit not always straight outside. The main bedroom was beautiful and so large it was like being in a suite. It had loads of wardrobe space . A chair and a mirror would have been a welcome addition but only as the icing on the cake. The second bedroom had a large comfortable bed , but was quite snug. There wasn’t any where to store clothes , without a wardrobe or chest of drawers . Just a few hooks on the back of the door. Any one using the second bedroom would need to be aware of this and that they would have to share hanging space etc with the occupants of the main bedroom. Not a problem to us but this might not suit two couples sharing. The bathroom and Kitchen were both large, well equipped and very spacious for cottage living. Cotstone was a joy to stay in and we would recommend it as the perfect place to enjoy this very scenic area.

  • "A beautiful well located property."

The decor was very tasteful and everything was top spec. The house was very well equipped and very quiet considering it was on the high street. Easy walking distance to all amenities and it was a wonderful time to visit as the village was decorated with amazing lighting which made our stay magical. Would definitely recommend to family and friends x

  • "Perfect cosy cottage for a quiet Cotswold break."

Chipping Camden is so quaint, a great base to explore surrounding areas too! The memorial garden opposite is nice to stroll round and the museum gives lots of interesting facts about the area. We had a lovely meal In the curry house. and can also recommend the Chinese takeaway if you don’t want to venture out. Lots of amazing little interior and antique shops to browse round. We had a great facial in one of the hotel spas off the high street. The afternoon tea in Bamford tea rooms was yummy too. The fire was wonderful in the cottage so cosy to curl up in front of with a book! The shower has really good water pressure, both bedrooms were very clean Extremely comfortable beds. The only problem we occurred was the kitchen light switches on the wall as you walked into the kitchen kept tripping the electricity out! There is a small market on Friday mornings with lots of creative products on offer. Plenty of independent restaurants to try with really satisfying menus. The eight bells pub was great. Also a few local stores to purchase fresh produce from if you prefer to stay in and cook. We would 100% definitely book Cotstone again.

Thank you for your kind feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at our cottage. Sorry you experienced a problem with the kitchen lights. I visited on Friday to have a look myself and it turned out the issue is with one of the spotlights. It had water in it, so we think we have a leak coming from the shower upstairs. We have managed to isolate the light so the power turns on until we get the issue fixed. Property Owner

  • "We've stayed in several holiday cottages during the pandemic, and we have absolutely fallen in love with both Chipping Campden and this cottage in particular."

The cottage is really well appointed, most of the furnishings, crockery etc are sourced from shops in the village which is a really nice touch, the cottage was really well finished, clean and the rooms were nicely decorated. We ate out 5 of our 7 nights and the quality of food locally is incredible, the locals are really welcoming, the pubs and most restaurants are all dog friendly and the standards are phenomenal. The Cotswold way walk is pretty much on your doorstep, but there's also 4 or 5 other bridleways and marked walks nearby so we didn't need to move the car all week. We will definitely be booking again!

  • "Although the cottage was beautiful and in a fabulous location we feel that the management company/cleaning company let the owner down somewhat."

There were a few issues which we feel we should raise. 1. As you should be aware, when we first arrived we could not access the rear garden as the wrong key had been left in the lock. We tried to call the contact number of the property managing agent without success so called Sykes customer service. They also tried to reach the contact and the owner but in the meantime we found an alternative key in the back of the drawer which enabled us to gain access. 2. The rear garden grass had not been maintained so we reported this and the owner came round the next day to cut it for us which was great but this should have already been done before our arrival. 3. Given we couldn't check in until 5pm and checkout is 10am we were expecting the property to be immaculately clean. It wasn't. There was a good layer of dust and dirt on top of light fittings in the kitchen and on the wine rack and cooker hob as well as on light bulbs in the lamps in the main bedroom. We appreciate that in a cottage dust can build up but this was a good few weeks worth. In the time of COVID we expected the cleanliness to have been stepped up. 4. Upon arrival at the property we noted that the glass bottle recycling box was full, the cardboard bag was full and the black bin was half full. As the following Monday was a Bank Holiday there was no refuse collection due until 6th September. It looked like the previous guests checked out on 23rd August (if we go by the guest book), so why was no alternative attempt made to empty the bins prior to our arrival? The state of the bins was wholly unacceptable. This is a reflection on the cleaning company and ultimately Sykes Cottages, NOT the owner. 5. We enquired as to whether there would be a mid-stay clean after our first week as we were staying for 2 weeks. Sykes said they would find out and come back to us. We didn't hear back. We stay in holiday properties every year and usually for 2 weeks and we have always had a full clean provided after the first week so we were surprised this didn't happen, again especially in the time of COVID. The owner has a beautiful cottage with high specifications, in a truly fabulous location, but we feel they are being let down by those who are running the cleaning and general management of the property. We hope this can be looked into and rectified for the future.

The cottage was so comfortable and gave us everything we could possibly want. We loved it and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend highly to everyone, we are already working out when we can book another visit. Also it was a great base for exploring the Cotswolds, we visited the Cotswold Wildlife Park, Butterfly World in Stratford Upon Avon, Cirencester Roman Corinium Museum as well as Blenheim Palace, we highly recommend all of these venues.

  • "This cottage was beautifully decorated."

Its location was perfect and close to several restaurants. We would recommend. In terms of feedback, it would have been good to know that some of the beams were very low and susceptible to tall people having to duck and be aware of potential accidents.

  • "The cottage was in the prefect location, and it was decorated to a very high standard."

Had a lovely home from home feel. It has a lovely garden with comfortable furniture. Our only complaint was the second bedroom didn’t have any wardrobe or drawer space. Our clothes had to be hung on coat hooks situated on one of the walls. We only stayed for 4 nights so it was fine living from a suitcase and using the hooks but you would struggle if staying for a week or more.
