Kathy and Russell were perfect hosts, and Charlie the dog was delightful. The grounds of the property were perfect for our energetic Springer, as was the walk into the forest was right on the doorstep. Was a perfect place for exploring the many trails in the Forest of Dean. There was plenty to do and many places to visit in the area. The stables was lovely and clean, with everything that we needed. All in all it was a perfect stay. We will definitely be returning to see other places that we want to visit. Thank you for a wonderful stay, Kathy and Russell! Mick , Anita and Ollie

What a great place to stay!

Our hosts were so welcoming and left a beautiful home made lemon drizzle cake!!! The facilities were great and it was such a relaxing place xx very clean and comfortable. Would recommend The Stables.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Stable it was well equipped and lovely and warm.

We loved the enclosed garden for our little dog. So many places to visit and walks in the Forest close by. We hope to return here in the Spring. Highly recommended.

There were beautiful dog walks on your doorstep. The owners were so friendly as was Charlie there dog. Our dog was in his element! We would definitely consider returning for another stay.

It was a short break but we loved every minute of it.

The girls loved playing with Charlie and always pleased to see him. The property was lovely and comfortable and the views were spectacular. We loved exploring the woods that were literally across the road. Great places to cycle and lovely little towns surrounding the area. We are hoping to return for a bit longer next time. The hosts were lovely and very accommodating. A great place to stay and get away from it all and go back to nature. Thank you.

Enjoyed a wonderful week at this property.

The owners Kathy and Russell were lovely, friendly and helpful. Our dog fell in love with their border collie and enjoyed playing with him on a number of occasions in the large fenced-off field in front of the accommodation. We were also given a delicious home made lemon drizzle cake upon arriving. The area is excellent for exploring.

Properly secure garden for the dog with the added bonus of an attached field, also secure. Hosts are very welcoming and very helpful. Location is great; loads to do in the area, including good walks through the forest and the railway.

This is a lovely property in a wonderful location.

We enjoyed a relaxing week amongst very friendly neighbours , they were willing to stop and pass the time of day with you. The Stable was very well equipped with everything necessary for self catering. The furnishings were very comfortable and the bed was extremely comfy too. The outdoor space including the paddock is a bonus if your four legged friend joins you ,our dog enjoyed chasing Charlie the owners dog. All in all one of the best holiday cottages we have been to, Kathy and Russell are very hospitable and a welcoming lemon drizzle cake was an added bonus.

We had a wonderful week in this beautiful cottage which is perfectly placed to explore the Forest of Dean.

The cottage is very well equipped, the garden amazing for our small dog and the hosts were very kind and considerate. We've been staying in holiday cottages over the last 20 years, this one is by far the best we've stayed in.

Super place to stay so convenient for the Forest of Dean and the surrounding area.

The pictures and descriptions are accurate and the joining instructions from the couple who run The Stable are really good. It was nice warm even though the outside temperature during our three night stay was minus three degrees Celsius. There are pubs within walking distance, the Nags Head only 1km away only takes cash, so please note. The edge of the forest is right next to the property which is a lovely bonus.

We had a most enjoyable stay at the Stable and a very warm welcome from Kathy, Russell and the delightful Charlie the dog.

The property is very comfortable, spotlessly clean, with everything you need if you want to self cater. There are books, games, information leaflets and an ordnance survey map. It is in a very beautiful part of the country with many places of interest within a short distance.

What a wonderful place to stay, with lovely views and so peaceful.

The owners, Kathy and Russell, couldn't have been more welcoming and the lemon drizzle cake was the best. To top it all, our son loved being greeted by Charlie wanting to play 'fetch' every time we arrived back after a day out. I don't know who wore the other out first! Thank you for a fantastic holiday.

We loved staying at the stable for our first holiday in 5 years.

We couldn’t have asked for a better location, right on the doorstep of the forest and the property suited our needs perfectly. Kathy, Russell and Charlie the Collie were very welcoming. Russel was very helpful with suggestions on places to visit and activities to keep the kids entertained.

The accommodation itself was spotless upon arrival and had all the amenities required for either a long or short stay. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a break in the Cotswolds

The property was very well equipped and comfortable. Great if you have a dog as there is a lovely enclosed garden and paddock plus lovely walks on the doorstep. The Stables is perfectly situated for exploring the Forest of Dean which is beautiful. We would definitely want to visit The Stables again and highly recommend it.

Kathy & Russell are very welcoming, the Lemon Drizzle cake was delicious and musn't forget Charlie the very friendly dog. The location is so peaceful and we had a great time. Plenty of pubs around to eat out in the evening as we did.

Easy to access many areas of the Forest by car and a footpath close to the cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, found it very relaxing. Owners very friendly and helpful, would not hesitate to recommend.

Fantastic place to stay .

Kathy and Russell are wonderful hosts and the lemon drizzle cake was lovely and went down a treat . The location is great for visiting local attractions and every morning we enjoyed our morning walk in the woods spotting the deer and listening to the birds singing. Fantastic location to explore the area. Lovely local pubs and walks. Kathy and Russell are great hosts, the lemon drizzle was amazing. Amber found new friend in Charlie too. We would definitely return.

Nicely presented stable conversion with everything you need.

Good instructions on how to get there. Bed comfortable, living area was well planned out. Compact shower room, WC and basin. Towels provided. Highlight for me, the bird feeders.....plus birds! Usual garden birds but also saw a spotted woodpecker, and 2 jays together! Great location!

The stable@rose cottage was a lovely place to stay for a week, the owners Kathy and Russell were very welcoming, and our dog gizmo very much enjoyed the company of Charlie, i loved the cake and fresh flowers when we arrived, and the area that the stable had was great, we had a couple of nights sat around the lovely fire pit, My wife and I both said we would love to visit again, there are many lovely walks and pubs about the area, and my daughter and her friend both enjoyed searching for wild boar, which we was lucky enough to see

A lovely comfortable barn-conversion, fresh and clean with some lovely little touches such as fresh flowers and a delicious home-made cake to welcome us.

The owners were so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Decor and furniture was all new and modern and we had everything we required for self-catering for the week. Children loved Charlie the dog and we had many lovely days out in the surrounding area. Would certainly recommend this cottage!

Lovely cottage in a fabulous location.

Perfect for dogs and a very safe enclosed garden for children. The area is in the outskirts of the forest, only a short drive from the vast array of activities. Hosts Kathy and Russell were brilliant and really helpful advising us about where to visit in the area. We look forward to returning next year.

A lovely place to stay, exactly as described.

Lovely welcoming touches such as milk in the fridge, tea & coffee, a lovely homemade cake and flowers. The owners were so welcoming and helpful. There was a super garden space that was secure for our dog with a field we could also use (once again secure). I would not hesitate to recommend staying here.

Everything you need is there. The views are stunning and my son loved running around. Everything is enclosed so we knew he was safe. The owners dog Charlie is so cute too. We enjoyed throwing him his ball. We was lucky with the weather too going during a heat wave. I'd love to come back

We found The Stable clean and modern with everything we needed.

It was in a great location for the Forest of Dene, with sheep and boar able to roam beyond the external gates. The owners Kathy and Russell were easy to chat to, and our dog had a great time playing with their Border Collie Charlie in their paddock which was adjacent to The Stable's garden. The spacious enclosed garden was also a nice touch. We really enjoyed our stay; would stay again if we were that way and would definitely recommend to others.

The cottage has beautiful views a pleasure to sit outside for meals.

The owners are fantastic, very friendly and helpful. A very useful base for touring the area. The second bedroom quite small but the cottage very well equipped.
