Accommodation lovely only problem we had was front door was very stiff to open.

A lovely few days stay at the lodge.

Modern and clean with all the facilities you need. Well equiped kitchen, including washer and dryer if needed. Bedrooms bright and cheery with comfy beds and en-suites. (Note the bouble bed ensuite sink tap feed is plumbed the wrong way

Spacious, bright, comfortable accommodation.

Nice sized patio to sit out in. Conveniently placed behind pub with reserved car parking in pub car park. Would suit friends as both bedrooms en suite, same size just one double, other twin. Although pub car park in front so of course a certain amount of noise this didn't spoil our break and area peaceful enough to be able to relax. Through the pub garden you were straight into wonderful woods with a meandering brook to walk beside.

The property was everything we wanted and expected from the description on line.

We enjoyed our stay . The pub, The Fountain Inn, was brilliant for meals with friendly staff and great food. Would recommend it to anyone. The downside of it was the WiFi and TV. We couldn't watch the tv ,as it kept freezing and having no signal. The WiFi was slow and kept buffering. It didn't spoil our week, though if we wanted to watch something, we couldn't.

The Lodge was decorated and refurbished very well - lovely and clean.

The pub staff was very friendly and we enjoyed.a lovely meal there. Thing to note: it's located at the back of the pub ! (expect the usual) - deliveries to the pub and bottle recycling can be noisy although the pub shuts at 10pm. (Nothing the pub can do about it - just a note to self - don't book a cottage next to a pub!) The area itself has very noisy motor bikes and speed racing cars travelling up and down a 30mph road. Therefore peace and quiet is not always guaranteed! (If I had known about inconsiderate motorists I would not have booked - just a note for those who like a bit of peace like us when we go away - holiday time is precious).

Lovely property with fabulous woodland walks and ideally situated for lots of great attractions, plus the food at the Fountain Inn is an excellent added bonus.

Accommodation was one of the best we have stayed in.

Well laid out and clearly a lot of thought had gone into all aspects. First class accommodation and we will be back.

We had a wonderful stay at Fountain Lodge.

The property was spotlessly clean, spacious, and very well equipped, with plenty of storage which made it easy to settle in and feel at home. The location is fantastic, nestled in a lovely area of the Forest of Dean, with the added bonus of a great pub just across the road serving delicious food. There were only a couple of minor drawbacks — the ensuite sinks were a little on the small side, and having a small vacuum cleaner available would have been useful during our stay. Overall, a fantastic place to stay that we would happily return to and recommend to others.

Super accomodation right next to the forest.

The lodge is modern and comfortable with everything you need for a self catering holiday. In the grounds of a pub serving excellent food but not at all noisy. Theres a village shop, cycle hire and steam railway to enjoy, all on the doorstep. Would definitely recommend.

Fountain Lodge was very comfortable, attractively furnished and clean.

Although quite small, it was well-equipped, with everything we needed. We would recommend it as a place to stay in the Forest of Dean. Please note that there needs to be some marker to show the step between the patio areas. My husband didn't notice this and hurt his ankle.

Would have liked a bigger sink in the en-suite and something to show the top yard from the bottom yard, we all stepped off the first part and nearly fell.

The cottage is lovely.

It had everything we needed. It was cosy, warm and comfortable. We would use it again in the future.

The property was in a great location, handy for us visiting family in The Forest.

Lovely pub next door with very friendly & helpful staff, and very good food (we had a meal on the 1st evening there). Easy access to the property with car-parking right outside the gate. Inside, it was spotlessly clean. Fully equiped kitchen (although I think a bread-bin would be a useful addition, especially if staying a few days or more). Each bedroom has its own en-suite...nice to find air-freshener in each! The only 'gripe' we had was the size of the hand-basin...difficult to use when cleaning your teeth! Very comfortable beds, as was the sofa in the lounge. Overall we were very happy with the accommodation, will definately book again in the future.

Lovely lodge that was clean, tidy, and very well maintained.

The accommodation had everything we needed for a comfortable break away, with well-equipped facilities. It was clear a lot of care had gone into preparing the lodge, which made our stay relaxing and enjoyable. We would happily stay again.

The accommodation is ideally situated behind the Fountain Inn, everything you need for comfort is in the lodge.

It’s very well appointed with even an air fryer which comes in useful when you don’t want to cook a full meal. We can’t avoid the fact that storm Claudia had its hand in the actual break with flooding, rain and road closures making things difficult. This is just circumstances beyond the control of anyone, the lodge is an ideal base set in a lovely location with a village shop and cafe. We had our daughter’s birthday meal in the fountain inn and the staff and food couldn’t have been bettered. Its location in the Forest of Dean is an ideal place to get to Chepstow, Tintern Abbey, Bristol or South wales etc. The Storms negative effects on our stay apart it was a lovely 5 nights away and Michelle was in hand if required but everything was ok while we were there.

Lovely outdoor area for the summer, handy parking & a less than one minute walk to a fab pub that serves delicious food with very friendly staff! If we go to that area again, we will be booking! Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the lodge.

The property is bright, clean and very comfortable, well maintained and fully equipped - including more than enough coat hangers which is unusual for a holiday rental! Agree with previous comments about the small sinks in the en suites, but understand this is in hand. Lots of homely touches made it a pleasure to come back to after a busy day exploring the Forest of Dean. We ate in the pub twice and the food was great. It is very quiet despite being near to the pub and is ideal for exploring the area - there are lots of nature reserves and forest walks nearby.

Situated in a great location, close to Monmouth, Ross on Wye and the beautiful Wye Valley.

The accommodation has everything you need, we’re just sorry the weather wasn’t kind enough for us to sit out. We had a brief power cut during a storm and Michelle came straight over to make sure we had torches etc. which was much appreciated. We had a takeaway from The Fountain one evening and it was lovely and very hot.

Loved Fountain Lodge.

Would definitely book again. Although it is situated in a pub yard it was very quiet and we had no complaints. Lovely walk through to the woods and the food was excellent at the Fountain Inn. Friendly staff also. Loved the arrangement of en-suite bedrooms and either end of property.

Perfect stay, all round excellent value.

We self catered and didn’t want for anything in the accommodation. Beds very comfortable and welcome pack much appreciated. Ate at the Fountain Inn in the evening on a number of occasions and food and choice very good. Bar staff and waitresses very helpful and friendly. Thank you all for a lovely stay.

We had a lovely stay, the cottage was comfortable and homely and very central for getting to places in the area.

Would definitely stay again. We had two meals at the Fountain Inn, just a hop across the car park and the food was excellent. We left a day early, nothing wrong, just circumstances. I would agree with other comments about the sinks being too small in the en suite's and the step in the garden needing to be highlighted for the split level. Just to add we felt we could have done with some extra mugs and some egg cups.

The property is very clean and comfortable with a very well equipped kitchen.

The en-suites are very well thought out with a shelf in the shower for toiletries. Plenty of wardrobe space and hangers. This is my second time at the property and I will definitely be returning soon.

Constructive comment--the patio area has two levels comprising same coloured slabs. The drop needs to be highlighted.

We stayed at The Fountain Lodge for a long weekend to celebrate my mums 70th.

Will definitely be coming back.

We wanted a base for a few days cycling in the Forest of Dean. The fountain lodge was just perfect. 6 min drive to the FOD cycle centre. Lockable and alarmed shed with bolted down anchors to lock your bikes to. Enough room for 3 to 4 bikes in the shed. The shed even had a light and 240v socket so you can charge your e-bike. The lodge was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you need. Reserved car parking for 2 cars right next to the lodge. Situated on the same site as the fountain inn which I highly recommend. We had a takeaway from the fountain inn one night and ate at the inn another evening. All our food was lovely. And they also serve a good selection of proper ale. All in all it was perfect. 10/10.

Well equipped for a comfortable stay all year round. Great pub next door for eating out or enjoying the local ale.

Good place to travel around the Forest of Dean. Plenty of places to see and things to do. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the Fountain Inn on one evening.

Sink too small in bathroom

Beautiful holiday cottage.

Great location. Facilities very good. Only criticism no shower mat, went and bought one. Would highly recommend.
