Neatly nestled between two shop fronts you will find the front door to The Apartment, as you enter the property you can kick off your walking boots, hang up your coats and make your way up the winding staircase and into the stylish home that provides everything you need during your stay.

The sitting room is light and airy due to its dual aspect quality, while boasting high-vaulted ceilings and exposed painted beams, it really does provide a welcoming solace after a day of exploring; why not take a seat at the window and watch the world go by, or settle down with your loved ones in front of the TV for a movie night? The sofa in the sitting rooms pulls out to a double sofa bed for additional guests, available to you on request. Head up the four steps to the well-equipped kitchen/diner where you can get creative with your culinary skills and enjoy a well-earned and warming dinner.

Overlooking the street below the bedroom is a warming sanctuary and boasts a super-king-size bed (this can be changed to twin beds on request), a wonderful place to rest your head after a long day.

In the morning, head up an additional four steps from the sitting room and enter the tasteful shower room, where you can start the day with an invigorating rinse in the walk-in rain shower.

Get dressed for the day ahead and embark on a walk around Stow-on-the-Wold, where you can discover many amenities, including local butchers, pubs, individual shops and tearooms; if it’s good food that you’re craving, head to the award-winning Old Bakery Tea Room, where you can indulge in baked goods and light bites. Now you’ve lined your stomach, why not do some exploring; Stow has an abundance of British contemporary art galleries and antiques shops, including Fosse Gallery and Durham House Antiques.

At nearly 800ft, Stow is the highest of the Cotswold towns, located on the Roman Fosse Way, there are many scenic and rural breath-taking walks and cycle routes in and around Stow, including the 102-mile walk on the Cotswold Way, through the beautiful Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

A really quirky property in a great location, a perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds.

It had everything we needed. We chose not to use our car and found some lovely circular walks from the village. There are some fabulous pubs/ restaurants (we tried most of them during our week long stay!), some great art galleries and shops to mooch around. The only slight negative is that the doorways throughout the apartment are all very low, whilst at the same time having steps in all the thresholds so although the headroom in the rooms is not an issue, guests do need reasonable mobility.

This is a cracking wee apartment in a very central location and given the age of the building well appointed with the advantage of a small private parking space.

Arriving to find milk in the fridge and the wee pack of washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets was a welcome bonus. The only point to note is the stairs up to the apartment are very steep, steeper and narrower than they appear in the photos that accompany the listing but other than that we expected the quirks that come with a 400ish year old building

The location is excellent, right in centre of town.

The property has lots of character as you would expect from a traditional Cotswold building, however in my opinion it would benefit from some maintenance, deep clean and refresh. I was disappointed with the quality of the accommodation given the price we paid. This property could be exceptional with some TLC.
