Upon entry, you will be delighted by the traditional farm-style interior, retaining some of the building’s character by the sash windows, original red brick walls and cast-iron AGA, combined with the warm tones of the wood.

Walking through the property, a fully-equipped kitchen awaits home-cooked meals, with a dining table to toast to an unforgettable getaway.

Afterwards, curl up on the sofa in the separate living space, engulfed by the ambience of the woodburning stove, offering a sense of comfort.

When nighttime rolls around, there are two bedrooms to choose from after a long day of adventures; a double room, with a Victorian feature fireplace, and a twin room with a flat-screen TV to savour your favourite show from the comfort of your bed, both boasting serene views of the land afar.

Your morning coffee may be spent in the courtyard, soaking in the infinite fields while your furry friends stretch their legs.

For the hiking enthusiast, there are plenty of routes to set off from, whether you begin at Earlswood Lakes through two scenic lakes, or Clowes Wood Nature Reserve, through ancient woodland, both boasting a peaceful surrounding bursting with wildlife.

Not forgetting your little ones, Umberslade Adventure offers an array of outdoor activities such as archery, tree climbing and play areas, promising a memory-filled adventure.

For history lovers and photographers alike, head to the National Trust Building Packwood House and indulge in the local history captured by the marvellous grounds.

For ventures afar, the city of Birmingham has everything you need and more to cater your holiday as you wish, becoming even more vibrant at night with an array of bars and clubs to savour a delicious cocktail at, the NEC Arena for concerts, and a variety of restaurants to dine at.

Stratford-upon-Avon is bound to hit you with a dose of history; the town was once home to William Shakespeare where you can now enjoy a spot of fine dining before playing dress up at the renowned theatre dedicated to the legendary playwright.

Bickerscourt Farmhouse invites you to make unforgettable memories with your loved ones.

The Shires is comfortable , homely and welcoming.

The owners are very helpful and it's lovely to stay adjacent to a working farm with dogs, geese, and shire horses. This is our third visit as we find it a perfect base for visiting family in the Midlands and exploring this beautiful area.

If you are looking for a quiet countryside getaway, you absolutely have to stay at The Shires at Bickerscourt!

The cottage is fully equipped with everything you could need, including a wonderful woodburner in the living room that we loved relaxing by every single evening. The beds were comfortable, and every room was clean. The bathroom was also fantastic, complete with a great rain shower and a lovely bath to unwind in. On top of all that, the owners are exceptionally friendly and welcoming, while giving you all the peace and privacy you need. We couldn't have asked for a better stay!

We enjoyed our autumn break at The Shires.

The semi detached cottage (owners Denise and John lived next door) was clean and comfortable, parking was outside the gate and we had lovely views across the fields. There were gentle giants - eight shire horses - in the field next to the garden. The owners’ two collies were very friendly. The geese were excellent guards. It was a shame it did not state in the listing that there was a microwave, an air fryer and a cafetière to use. If I had known I would have took some air fryer liners with us. We visited National Trust properties and other tourist places. If you are looking for somewhere that offers peace and quiet, this is the cottage for you.
