Finwood Cottage 1

The property was lovely and all amenities as described.

Very comfortable accommodation and low touch hosts. The few things which would be good to mention was the inability to close the bathroom door (it's just a sliding modesty screen with gaps) and the proximity to M40, which means you can hear the traffic when outside (inside is quiet). This didn't spoil the enjoyment of the holiday and we would gladly go back. Thank you for sharing the cottage

Great cottage that had everything we wanted as well as an indoor pool.

Would recommend to anyone.

We had a lovely three night stay.

Accommodation was very clean and really comfortable, and perfectly positioned to visit local attractions. It was great having the swimming pool to ourselves to relax in. I’d thoroughly recommend! Thank you for a great stay.

A very comfortable ground floor cottage with parking right outside.

Ideal if disabled. Good range of cooking equipment made preparing meals easy. It's within easy reach of several NT properties and lovely canal-side walks. Very clean and a warm welcome when we arrived. It's a really nice place for a restful holiday.

This cottage that was perfect for us and idealy located for visiting our family and friends - we couldn't fault it at all and look forward to returning next year.

...the hosts are lovely and the beautiful surroundings are amazing...thanks for a wonderful stay xx

Lovely cottage quiet location very well equipped with easy distance of all major attractions will return

A great place to retreat to for a peaceful time away.

Everything you need for a home from home stay. Near to many great site seeing places and stations so you could use trains sometimes.

A lovely find this one.

Nicely placed as a bolt hole whilst visiting old friends. Hosts were discrete and friendly, everything we needed was to hand.out of season to use the indoor pool. Next time maybe…

The accommodation was very nice kitchen well equipped very clean throughout the WiFi system was a little bit weak if that could be improved then definitely 10/10 .

Regards H & L

We had a lovely time at the cottage, easy to book, well equipped, comfortable and a great launchpad for places of interest.

The local pub restaurant was warm, welcoming, with good food and a good selection to choose from at the time of our visit. The travel instructions to the cottage were accurate which was welcomed and the location was quiet and secluded. We would have liked to see more instructions regarding the swimming pool and rubbish/recycling.

Lovely place very clean and tidy and all very welcoming.

The perfect cosy get away for a couple, yet within easy access of main roads and the motorway.

Very friendly owners, and we would recommend the accommodation to anyone

A lovely little cottage, we felt completely at home as soon as we arrived.

The owners left everything looking just right and it was lovely and warm. The owners left us to get on with our stay which was perfect. Recommended wholeheartedly.

It was an excellent opportunity to see Warwick from this fabulous place.

It was warm and very welcoming the proprietors have excelled themselves in what it is to be a host .Normally you would have to go to a shop to get the very basics but this place provides this so when you are weary and tried from driving all you really want is a nice cuppa and they provided this with tea coffee milk and sugar plus biscuits and chocolates. It's just wow .

From driving down the long drive - which when lit up at night is gorgeous - to pulling up outside the cottage we were hooked on the place.

The owners love and look after their home and land. They have their extended family and dogs living there too and it is clear to see that everyone loves it. Although we were invited to use the pool anytime we wished, we didn't and this was purely because we found ourselves without the time. We found this was the perfect base to travel around and see National Trust Treasures / Cadbury World / The Car Museum / Shakespeare Anything etc, the Food at The Tom O' The Wood is absolutely Stunning and worth a couple of visits (Sunday lunch is a wowzer) and even if you are not a "Walker" which we are definately NOT. You find yourself walking a lot and it is really enjoyable. This is a lovely quiet part of the world and I don't think you could stay anywhere nicer. It's lovely and cosy - but not small - has everything you need and the bed is comfy. The Shower is the best we have ever used and we are 60 and 66, so we have used a lot of showers. You come out refreshed. Finwood Cottage 1 is definately a 10 out of 10

Wonderful little cottage a short cycle from Grand Union Canal where you can cycle /walk for miles.

A 20 min drive from Warwick Castle and Stratford Upon Avon. We visited "Tom of the Woods' local pub located a short distance away next to the canal. Perfectly placed to walk off your meal. The cottage is equipped with everything you need with simple key collection on arrival. The indoor swimming pool is next door and accessible as and when. Really enjoyed host, Marion's company on a few early morning swims. Friendly hosts. Great stay. Thank you

Very comfortable property, well stocked kitchen with cutlery and crockery, comfortable seating area, nice size bedroom with lovely en suite and very nice shower, the property is well positioned for travelling the area and very close for canal walks etc All in all a lovely place to stay

We had such a wonderful stay!

! Clean.comfortable.The area is wonderful lots of places and things to do!! And a big thankyou for the anytime use of your pool made our stay even more memorable ,very kind!!best wishes hope you enjoy your hoilday Maxine and Duanex

Excellent

Wonderful cottage which is very clean, comfortable, warm, cosy and contains all the items needed for an amazing vacation.

The shower is very powerful and soothing, the Wi-Fi single is extremely strong, the bed is super comfortable and there is a private parking space directly outside the front door where there is also an outside table and four chairs. The cottage is located in beautiful rolling countryside with amazing views all around. A great location for taking country walks and for visiting the local pubs which are all very accommodating, ones of special note are; Tom O The Wood, The Fleurs De Lys, The Boot, The Punch Bowl and The Navigation. The cottage location is great for venturing out to explore Warwick, Stratford upon Avon, and many other interesting places. I nearly forgot to mention the wonderful indoor pool which is just 10 meters from the cottage front door and because there are no other guests to share the pool with you get to have it all to yourself. All the above and many other things make Finwood Cottage a superb place to a have peaceful, calming vacation. It was great to wake up naturally in the morning and to only hear the wonderful sound of the lambs in the next door field and bird song. I will certainly be coming back in the future and can certainly highly recommend Finwood Cottage to anyone.

A lovely, quiet cottage.

Warm and comfortable and perfect to unwind after a day exploring. The owner was very friendly and welcoming and got a minor issue fixed immediately. The cottage is extremely well equipped and the bed is very comfortable. The only very minor complaint would be that the picture of the interior didn't quite match reality and the en suite, only toilet, isn't very private. That said, these minor issues wouldn't stop us staying again or recommending to others.

We have for the last 3 years had week before the Christmas week away in a cottage near to our sons in Nuneaton and Rugby, the Finwood Cottage went beyond our expectations.

The owners had decorated the cottage with a Christmas Tree and Christmas Decorations and there was a tub of Cadbury Roses left for us. The owners were a lovely couple and helpful. Loved the location in middle of Warwickshire. We'll definitely be booking for next year very soon. Looking forward to seeing you both again.

Nice place in the country.

Well equipped kitchen and plenty of storage space. Good for local walking on the canals and to see all the sights mostly avoiding the big busy roads.

Would benefit from outside light when returning at night as it’s quite dark around the step area.

This has everything you would need for a lovely pleasant holiday.

It is secure & quiet with lots of nature & wildlife around. They have an indoor pool which is great after a long day of sightseeing. The only downside, if there is one, is the ensuite, it is a perfect size but I'm a night owl & my husband is an early bird so we kept waking each other up when we had to answer a call of nature.

Beautiful and homely little cottage style place, surrounded by big trees, fields and greenery.

Gorgeous old flagstone floor in the living room. Kitchen is well equipped - no coffee machine but the owners have provided a French press for ground coffee. Comfy bed and sofa. Nice 5k circular walk from the property (part along the canal). Only 20 mins by car to Solihull for shopping and amazing restaurants but there is a pub that does food within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again, owners are very helpful and the indoor pool is a real bonus.

It is a beautiful cottage in a beautiful location.

I was staying with my five year old daughter and the hosts set out some garden toys for her which I thought was a lovely touch. The pool was brilliant. Definitely going back.

We had a wonderful and comfortable stay.

The cottage was one of the nicest and warmest we have stayed in and the hosts were friendly and helpful when needed. Having a washing machine and dryer was an added bonus which we really appreciated as we are from Australia and are travelling around the UK for 13 weeks.

Lovely quiet location, everything you need

Wonderful, we had everything we needed and some, the owners were lovely, nothing seemed like a problem to them (even jump starting a car).

We would highly recommend, happy memories.

Lovely cottage, friendly owners nothing too much trouble.

Well equipped kitchen. Great relaxing location, lots of places to visit round about.

Finwood Cottage was a great find.

Rob and Marion were excellent hosts. Everything you could possibly need was provided. Comfortable bed for a good night's sleep. Ideal location for visiting Stratford, and lots of National Trust places within easy reach. Would recommend this to anybody.

The cottage was perfect for me and my son it was clean and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay.

The pool was amazing for my boy he was scared of swimming before we came here and it has given him so much confidence in our short stay, so thank you. Can’t recommend this place enough and perfect location to explore Warwick.

The property was very good And Rob and Marian made us feel welcome a very nice and down to earth couple and very helpful Kind Regards Patricia Ede

Lovely location with great facilities with friendly owner.

Nice welcoming touches. The property is gated with an indoor swimming pool ideal relaxing at the end to the day. Perfect location for visits to Warwick or Birmingham. Would highly recommend a stay.

If this property had been the first one we had booked with Sykes we are unlikely to have tried any others.

The property and surroundings bear little resemblance to the photo's shown and no way deserves a 4.7 excellent rating. The outside table and chairs and swing seat were dirty and clearly not intended to be used. I appreciate it is the countryside but the whole place needed a good tidy. The inside was rammed with old books and childrens games which were obviously being stored from elsewhere. Several of the appliances did not work properly, such as the shower door which we could not open. On a positive note the property was ideally situated for exploring many National Trust and other properties in the area.

Excellent place.

We really enjoyed our stay there.

We had a lovely stay and was in such a good location.

Everything you needed in the cosy cottage for a relaxing stay.

Exellent !

We would like to thank Rob and Marion for all the care, and attention to detail, they put into Finwood Cottage to make it as comfortable as it is.

We had our second warm, cosy experience this year and would thoroughly recommend it to all who would enjoy the tranquility of the beautiful rural setting. Eric & Charmian

A lovely cosy cottage in a good location.

Nice and quiet but near to a couple of nice pubs if you want to eat out. Plenty of national trust properties nearby and warwick castle is definitely worth a visit. Beware if you do visit the dungeon it is very dark and uneven. We did go into coventry but wouldn't recommend the park and ride as very strange and only a bus every 30 minutes. Unlike any other we've used. We would return to this cottage so that is a recommendation in itself.

A well appointed little cottage.

Conveniently situated to explore Warwickshire.

A lovely property in a peaceful location but ideally situated to many interesting places to visit.

The pool was a real treat and the owners extremely welcoming. Would absolutely recommend to friends & family and hope to stay again in the future.

Lovely barn conversion property with simple tasteful decor.

Open plan living area, well equipped and clean. Use of pool was great, plus spacious grass/wooded area with chickens, assorted seating and views of fields, in addition to table and chairs to front of property. Good base for visiting lots of areas and 2 NT properties very close, plenty of local pubs and pretty canals. Friendly hosts live on site. Excellent value and highly recommended. Suggestions: Photos could do with updating to reflect new furniture inside and out. And I agree with another comment - could do with an armchair in addition to sofa. Overall we had a lovely holiday. Thankyou. .

Lovely quiet place to dissappear to.

Although still near Warwick and areas to visit. Would recommend to couples looking for a base to explore Warwickshire and surrounding areas. Only one recommendation would be for either a second arm chair or a foot stool in lounge. Host very nice and the goodies for arrival were very much appreciated. Also the use of the swimming pool was great and lovely and warm. Would definitely return if in area again.

Very comfortable and made welcome by our hosts.

Will definitely go back again.

Nice friendly hosts.

Charming cottage with good facilities, especially the swimming pool. Overall a very enjoyable stay, loved the dogs.

Lovely cottage, lovely setting.

Peaceful surroundings with lovely walks. Nice to have use of the swimming pool. Easy access to Coventry and Warwick.

Lovely, well equipped and comfortable cottage, beautiful surroundings, peaceful and relaxing, highly recommended.

Owners welcoming and helpful. Loraine and Kevin Pearce

A very comfortable and enjoyable week at Finwood Cottage 1.

Plenty of space for two people and well equipped. A great location for visiting Stratford-on-Avon, Warwick, Leamington Spa and Birmingham and all the lovely countryside in-between. Also not forgetting the lovely walks along the two nearby canals. A great swimming right next-door. The owners are very friendly and helpful, too. We'd happily stay at this cottage again.

Excellent property and it could not be faulted .

A thoroughly enjoyable stay .

Great accomodation, friendly owners - great location - would happily stay here again !

Wde were working away and our stay made it seem more like a holiday

Finwood Cottage 1 was the most comfortable and pleasant holiday accommodation.

We had absolutely everything we needed and wanted in the cottage. It was very well placed for things we wanted to do in the area and the surrounding countryside is very attractive. The cottage was warm and peaceful and very attractive. Basic supplies were greatly appreciated. We enjoyed being able to easily visit Oxford, Coventry, Warwick and Compton Verney from our base. In addition, the Stratford/Avon and Grand Union Canals are minutes away. There are good pubs with meals nearby. In all a winning cottage and location.

Lovely cottage with all the amenities you could ever want.

Couldn’t fault it. Would definitely like to stay again next year.

We had a great October holiday.

Main reason for selecting this property was proximity to Warwick Castle and the indoor swimming pool which was right next door to the cottage. Cottage was nice and cosy, really well equipped, great shower and friendly owners who looked in on us on arrival and live in main house if needed. Key fob gates so easy access. Stratford upon avon, Hatton locks and Kenilworth Castle all within a short drive. Co-op, fish and chip shop within about 3 miles and a local shop at Lapworth up the road plus good pubs and canal walks what more could you want. Many thanks J and Alex

We immediately felt at home when we walked in the cottage.

It had everything you needed, well equipped, spotlessly clean, and all easily accessible. The swimming pool was amazingly and although we didn’t have time to use it, there was a fully equipped gym. We would have loved to have stayed longer and would definitely look here first if staying in the area.

Rob and Marion very welcoming.

Gave us fresh eggs from their own chickens. Cottage lovely with all the facilities you would need. Would definitely visit again.

Excellent vacation.

Plenty to do. Cottage was marvellous and hosts extremely welcoming and helpful. Thank you.

We really enjoyed our week, great swimming pool and facilities and nice to see all the local wildlife.

This is ideally situated with Countryside walks, lovely Pubs and in easy reach of Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon and other popular places to visit.

Very friendly owner, peaceful location, ability to walk to several nice pubs.

Outstanding swimming pool with ace stereo!

Good location/ Ideal for local walks visiting NT properties via canal towpaths and lanes.

Pubs in walking distance and good supermarket and butchers less than four miles away. Ideal !!!

Our host had decorated the property ready for Christmas which was a lovely touch.

A little gift also was really thoughtful. The accommodation was clean and really comfortable. We were really busy and arriving back to a warm cozy place was super. Great peaceful location.

Very convenient for visits to Warwick, Stratford, Leamington, Coventry,- National Trust and English Heritage properties , and the network of local canals including Hatton Locks.

A well equipped cottage with owners who are there when you need them and are very friendly.

The cottage has the added bonus of an indoor swimming pool and some gym equipment in the building next to the cottage it if you want to use it. Very quiet area with plenty to do in the vicinity and a number of highly rated pubs (if you go by the comments in the visitors book). Well worth considering if you are looking for a quiet getaway with plenty to do nearby.

Had a great holiday here I hired both cottages so we could go away as a adult family.

Both cottages are beautiful, comfortable, well equipped, and tastefully & thoughtfully decorated.

The cottage was well appointed, clean and comfortable.

The large pool was always available to use, warm and enjoyable. There are many great places to see locally, so the cottage makes a great base for exploring Warwickshire.

Delightful cottage So many places to see in the area and though the cottage was rural was very handy to all Lovely pubs very close

Lovely cottage, well positioned.

Lovely pool and gym for use at any time of day. Owners very friendly and welcoming. Good all round experience

A lovely cottage in quiet surroundings despite the M40 being so close.

Facilities in the cottage were excellent. Two good pubs within walking distance.

Lovely location and Mr and Mrs A were very helpful.

The cottage had all that we needed for an enjoyable stay.

Good points: Spacious, privacy.

Down point: the WiFi is not consistent.

Hospitable hosts, great location.

It was a lovely warm and comfortable place to come back to after a day out. The added bonus was having the use of a wonderful indoor swimming pool!! It is the first place we really feel we would come back to.

A lovely cottage in a great location, with friendly and welcoming owner.

A very enjoyable few days, and great to wake to the sound of sheep in the nearby field :)

Our third stay in this lovely comfortable cottage.

The usual warm welcome from the owners together with the welcome pack. A central setting for the beautiful Warwickshire countryside. Woke on our last morning to the sight of three deer in the grounds. All being well we'll be back again.

Excellent location + facilities, and a comfortable cottage.

Made to feel very welcome. Ideal place for a stay with a young baby.

Great accommodation with everything you would need.

Clean and tidy and great for a couple.

This was a perfect location for us and the cottage was excellent a real home from home.

There were some lovely welcoming touches and the hosts were fantastic. Overall a superb experience. We would definitely return.

Everythng was fine but a couple of suggestions-wi fi was a bit hit and miss in the bedroom and a better curtain or a sliding door for bathroom as it was a bit odd having no door.

But we had a great time and hope to revisit

Lovely location with lots of places to visit lovely family break or quiet escape only 2 cottages on site so you get plenty of scope for times in the pool house non restricted perfect property break
